My husband showed up the following week to drop our puppy off and AGAIN nobody there. He called , waited until 715 and a girl showed up. She was not nice to my husband and told him that they don't open until 8 unless we had an appointment. He explained that we did and she was rude. Jump ahead to October we made another grooming appointment and play day, dropped her off at 9 and picked her up at 330 and they forgot to groom him. Most recently I dropped him off for a grooming and when I picked him up the lady was very rude and unprofessional.

She asked me to attend a "brushing class" which i did for free w her. I always felt confrontational w her like she didn't approve of me keeping my dog's hair long. Well it became apparent when she Hung up on me! I feel this was extremely unprofessional. I specifically asked her not to shave my dog and she did a 1 inch cut which to us is essentially shaved. What's so bad is i feel she intentionally did this because she did not want to keep brushing my dogs long hair she said it was torturing her(the dog) and we weren't managing the hair well. I brush my dog's long hair w a wire brush and metal comb and then cut whatever knots out she has with scissors which i told her to do but her response was that will look choppy! So after expressing my displeasure of her decision to cut very short my long haired pup she hung up on me! Instead of cutting her hair so short, she should have said i am not comfortable with brushing and grooming her anymore and you should find a new cut. Instead she decided on her own to do this! And when my hubby picked our pup up that day, Jessica immediately said "she isn't shaved " which was apparently on my husband's shocked face, yes she was! She also asked me several questions about our dog and took notes. I could tell instantly that she is a dog lover. While we were gone, she sent me photos of him and gave me updates. He was much happier sleeping in a home (vs an outdoor kennel) and she even provided the dogs an outside kiddie pool to enjoy. When I picked him up, she seemed genuinely sad to see him go. Normally, he jumps up on me when I've returned to a boarding businesses to retrieve him as he is so happy to go home. This time, he was very calm and took his time hopping into my vehicle. I could tell he was well cared for! The price is fair and comparable to other boarding places. We have found a new caretaker for our pet!

My aunt claims she didn't hang up on her so chances are it was on accident. She has a janky phone that doesn't even let her call certain numbers. Plus it's a smart phone and she's not very tech savvy. Anyways, she's going off on us and proceeds to grab Tori and start clipping her nails while going off on my aunt and continuing to flip her off. She wasn't paying attention to what she was doing and she was jerking Tori around and screaming at us about her "husband that can't sh*t". Tori gets nervous getting her nails done as it is. I was very calm throughout the whole incident whereas my aunt told her she was rude and walked out. Taking Tori with her. We didn't let her finish. She did one paw and half of one back and expected us to pay. When I expressed my feelings about her flipping my aunt off and told her we weren't paying, she told me I was being rude now. She threatened to call the cops on me! All I did was tell her even if we were being rude, we are her customers. It's life and sometimes we have to deal with it. I walked out and came back with a check. I only payed for the cut for Bella and she flipped me off when I was leaving. She's lucky she got the check for the cut. In total, she flipped us off 4 times while we were there, she jerked Tori so much that she yelped, and she left Tori bleeding everywhere. We immediately took Tori somewhere else to get her nails fixed and she was much calmer. I don't suggest going to Doggone Grooming for your pet care."

I have never been so disgusted with a service before in my entire life…read more My husband and I visited the facility on January 6th and had an appointment for 4:40. We showed up at our appointment and it was the worst experience of my entire life. The staff in general was okay. I do not blame the receptionist and I thought the first tech was polite. After that, everything went downhill. We contacted Bethalto Animal Clinic simply to get our yearly exam and get my Dog's vaccines up to date, was we recently moved from Jacksonville, Florida to the Bethalto area. First off, the services were anything but affordable. It was over $200 for a simple exam and 2 vaccines, one of which was an oral vaccine. When I had originally scheduled the appointment, I ensured to ask if I would be allowed to be with my dog during the exam and throughout the process, as he doesn't know people at Bethalto Animal Clinic yet and neither do I. I was told yes and that the only things I would not be present for, was blood draws and if he ever needed x-rays. When we went to the back room with our dog, the tech was kind and was asking us of our concerns. Not once did she try to get to know Wilbur (our dog) and not once did she try to get him comfortable. We brought his treats with us to help him adjust a little easier and they were not used. Once she was done talking to us, she informed us that she would need to do a blood draw for one of the annual tests and we said okay. She took him back. When I tell you my dog screamed, I mean he absolutely screamed. Not once have we EVER heard him scream like that. We have been to multiple vets, and never has he been nervous or scared like he was there. They come back 20 minutes later only to tell us that everything was done. The Vet brought him in (who I have never met) and did not tell us how the exam was, discuss any issues we had, address a single concern, absolutely nothing. We paid over $200 to listen to my dog scream and I cannot tell you how disgusted I am, not only with myself for bringing him there, but for this clinic to treat my dog the way they did. We weren't even introduced to the Vet or anything. I felt talked down to when trying to discuss a potential food allergy (diagnosed by my precious 5 star vet) and it was the saddest experience of my life. I cannot describe to you the feelings I have. I will not bring a single living being to this facility ever again, and I will continue to inform everyone in my circle about the horrific treatment of my dog. This facility should be disgusted with themselves. My dog is a member of my family. For you to treat him like a number is unacceptable.

I was given a different doctor than my normal and she was rude, making judgements and not hiding her irritation. I went in a for my puppy's yearly exam only to be told he'd need $2000 in surgery. When I told her I'd need to talk it over with my husband before scheduling she started to tell me about how he's too young to die and trying to scare me into the procedure. I didn't appreciate it. I wasn't turning down doing the surgery, I was wanting to do more research on what he's dealing with and when to schedule the surgery. I would never spend that money without talking it over with my husband. I called later asking to do an antibiotic since she told me it was an infection he had. I was then told it was not an infection but a disease and then other issues that were in his notes that she didn't tell me about. I don't trust them and feel like they were trying to make money off of me versus what is best for my puppy. That being said I am getting a second opinion and going from there. I will not give this office any more money or time and recommend others avoid it.

She said she could only tell me the routine dental cost of $297 and stated that it is their policy not to disclose prices of their services and that I would need to bring my pets in for a new patient visit $66 each then the doctor can evaluate and provide an estimate based on what was needed. I informed her that I was not requesting an estimate, just to know how much they charge for certain services to compare other hospitals. I already have an exhaustive list with codes and descriptions and was encouraged to compare prices of other hospitals. She again cut me off, restated that she can only tell me the price for a routine dental and to have a good day. I am not sure if Best Friends Animal Hospital stands behind this employee's interaction with a potential consumer, but I would not support or trust any business that does.
