Stopped in yesterday with 2 friends who wanted me to teach them how to shoot a semi-automatic…read morepistol. We filled out the required registration and waivers quickly on the laptops. We then chose a 9mm GLOCK for the gun rental, 200 rounds of 9mm 115 grain Luger ammunition, and a silhouette target. I provided "eyes & ears" for each of us. Total for all this and 2 hours of range time was approximately ~$120. My friend paid because I wasn't shooting, just coaching. My friends HAD A BLAST and REALLY ENJOYED learning how to shoot a pistol. Neither had experience with a pistol before and soon they were "all in the black" on a target ~10 feet downrange. Lots of fun and smiles for the money! I recommend this range for it's SAFETY & CLEANLINESS.

The property is massive, with a skeet and trap range, rifle ranges up to 100 yards, a fishing pond, hunting trails, and plenty of spots to shoot pistol. The owners are no muss, no fuss and prefer to keep it a local good-ol-boys network... not many women frequent this place. It's far from civilization, but worth the trip for the privacy and freedom to shoot just about anything you want to shoot and at distances you can't find at city ranges. I'll keep coming back because it's a perfect place for a day of shooting targets and having some pew pew fun.

The greatest and friendliest of members that always welcome, and a clubhouse that always has open arms. The fireplace crackles as much as the grey hairs around the round tables and the membership includes men and women of all ages and backgrounds. As far as skill I'd put the top echelon at this club up against the top 10% of any other and MGC would win all day long, a great place to get some solid coaching and insight on your shotgunning games.

After paying for 4 consecutive months up till March 2025, the owner once stated that I hadn't paid since Dec 2025. Looking back now, it obvious they had no idea what was going on with their memberships. Im glad I printed my receipts & have proof of payments. As of today 5-12-2025..... my debit card is pending a monthly charge from Hammer Down Range. This payment will be disputed & stopped...I may also pursue theft charges for their ignorance and disregard for us paying customers. If anything they owe all their members a refund, We dont owe Hammer Down anything.

They have helped me many times when I needed it and it didn't mean an immediate sale. Once I was injured and they helped install a red dot sight for me at the range including cleaning and storing. This year I was fortunate enough to harvest a nice 6X6 Red Stag and a huge 600-700 lb feral hog. This is a wonderful hunting lodge run by three of the nicest people you'll ever be lucky enough to meet. My guide on each trip was Paul Jr. and he is quite a guy. Like his dad Paul Sr., he's hunted all over the world, and he knows his stuff. But Paul Jr. is so modest, you'd never guess his world-class hunting guide credentials. The man behind this entire operation is Paul Sr., a fine and interesting man who's as intelligent and modest as he is wiry and clever. You can't go wrong guided by either. Both men are the type you just enjoy tramping through the woods with. If the Richter family ever decided to close down their hunting lodge, they could operate the finest wild game inspired restaurant in all of Appalachia. This is all due to the cooking skills of Donna Richter (the wife and mother) who serves up the most delicious home cooked meals you can imagine. The three Richters, the beautiful heavily-wooded hills, the wide assortment of wild game, the great meals, and its general ambience make Shawnee Ridge the place to hunt. Lord willing, I know I'll be back there again in 2019.

The owners (Paul Sr. and Paul Jr.) were very nice and helped them feel at home. He went with two of his best friends, and they all felt like they were visiting a close friend. Donna, Paul Sr.'s wife was a good cook. For a minimal fee, you can stay at their lodge, this includes food and lodging. If you decide you want to hunt, you can do that for a fee. They are currently developing a three acre fish pond that will be a great addition to their business. I went with my husband today to pick up the meat of the boar he hunted. All the owners were there, and everything my husband told me were true. Paul Sr. gave us a tour in his lodge where a lot of his priced hunts were displayed. This place is reservation only, so if ever you want to go hunting or be with nature, this is the place to be.
