The electrical panel in my nearly-60-year-old home was failing in multiple ways. Chris checked it out and fixed the immediate problems, but mentioned a panel replacement would be a good idea at some point, but didn't press me on it (A prior electrician had said it must be done now). I went ahead and scheduled the replacement, which Chris completed quickly yesterday, and for less than 1/2 what the other electrician quoted. The result looks amazing. The new panel has plenty of room to expand and uses all of the latest technology. Chris even scheduled a time when he would return and help me label all of the circuits (prior panel labelling was scant and inaccurate). Charge for this next visit: $0. I was about to eat dinner and all the sudden every light in the house starts to flicker. My surge protectors start clicking and smelling like burn plastic. I check my fuses and they all fine. I don't know what to do so I call the electrician I normally used. They don't answer. In my desperation I send out a yelp request. CMR responds within 2 minutes tell me that I need to call the power company. The power company instantly knew what the issue was and said they will fix it. After having a not-so-good experience with a company that installed a fan in my basement, I decided to look for another company. Fortunately, I found CMR Electric, and as you'll read in the other reviews, Chris is a great professional who knows what he's doing. He fixed the installation problem with the basement fan and left it perfect (not almost hanging like the previous electrician), and I loved that Chris brought extra screws because they were needed for that project. He also installed some light fixtures and fixed the problem we had with the garage button that basically wasn't responding; it turns out that the previous work wasn't very well done. Also, with that job, he saved me because I forgot to buy the button to open the garage, and among his things, he had one; a thousand thanks. After reading the rave reviews about this business, I decided to call to have some fixtures installed and outlets completed since my husband, who by the way is an electrician, is too busy to do. Chris sounded very upbeat and nice on the phone. He asked me to send pictures of the work I needed performed, which I did right away. That was on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. I sent eight pictures showing what I needed done. The last thing Chris wrote via text message was "Thank you. I'll have a price to you shortly." I have not heard a peep from him since then. Of course, I would not use him even if he called at this point. But I also would not recommend someone who is not professional. I orginally had another electrician come in, but he created more problems than resolved and just ghosted on me. Then, I found Chris through Yelp. He gave me a reasonable, straight-up quote and was easy to schedule an appointment. He showed up on time, knew exactly what to do, finished the job on time.
