I write this review not for the sole purpose of bashing but to genuinely warn anyone who wanting to go to a school that will look out for you like they say they will. I seen feuds happen between teachers and admin about catering to basic needs to the students , I've seen teachers get fired and steal out the same lab (that we barely had things in already) Keep in mind I completed my program even though they tried to screw me in my last month trying to make me fail the last class due to attendance (that I had a 91% in at the end of the class) all because they knowingly force everyone too do a tedious career prep class that should be offered day 1 yet it's the #1 class that over 80%!! Of students end up not finishing because it's the most tedious time consuming stuff that won't apply to your field or anything you've done your whole time enrolled it's just a class they throw in there so the school can get "extra money" even though everyone's aware of it's uselessness from the mouth of their financial aid director. A big shout out to Dan Bacarri and Gerald Hightower if it weren't for them that school wouldn't be worth a damn. Stefani the education director is the most useless person ever she's nothing but a face for show any real issues you have she will never have a solution too an always trying to send you too someone else to fix the issue. All in all STAY FAR AWAY FROM STC unless you're keen on wasting your time and money. I just hope this review saves a poor soul for signing them selves up for this debt hole of a school.

I…read morecannot speak on the quality of the other programs, but if you were considering OTC for surgical technology...run far away! The surgical tech program here only gives you the AST certification...not an AS degree or the national board certification that most hospitals and surgical centers look at for their new hires. Besides that, my instructor MELISSA RODRIGUEZ was extremely unprofessional, lazy, and more childish than most of the students attending the program. She would gossip about all of the students and if you did not try to be best friends with her and kiss her butt every second of the day, she would turn incredibly rude and give you no guidance whatsoever. There were so many things that I needed to learn that she never showed the class. A month before my lab final she excluded me from practicing in the OR with her simply because she had negative, personal feelings towards me. I witnessed her enabling cheating from my other classmates and the list of unprofessionalism just goes on and on... Unfortunately, the director of the program, TIMOTHY LAMB seems to protect her unprofessional behaviors instead of doing the right thing by the students and hiring a much better, and qualified instructor. The social environment of the program, and especially my own classroom became so toxic to me that I made the decision to withdraw halfway through this program in order to protect my mental health. If OCPS knows what's good for them and the success of the attending students, they would do a complete overhaul of the surgical technology department. I am currently enrolled to start a much better program at another school in the near future. I can't say I didn't receive SOME type of learning experience from my time there! Now, onto better and more positive experiences.

There is absolutely no sense of urgency at alI when they have to complete something on their end. The website is super sketchy. I graduated there in 2019 and I have lost out on 2 jobs because they couldn't get a hold of these people to verify my course completion. Even taking into consideration the lowest of the low price, this school follow through and customer service is a freakin' joke. I can't speak on curriculum for every course obviously but for the nursing course the quality of the instruction you get is questionable honestly.

Yet has completely dropped the ball on multiple occasions. After receiving all of my information , being a dependent myself whose beneficiary was considered KIA/Disabled after august first twenty twenty three they repeatedly tried to tell me due to my age i am ineligible to receive chapter thirty five benefits. However , if your beneficiary is considered disabled or killed in action after august first twenty twenty three , there is no age out for the benefits. Meaning in theory you can still use it when you're sixty years old. The housing by far is one of the worst things things I have ever experienced in a scholastic environment. Collegiate Housing first and foremost prioritizes profit rather than the student's well being. They are charging $900 a person for a dorm shared with 4 people, you dont even have a private bedroom. Ontop of the many hidden fees and stipulations that they do not tell you about nor do they reach out with you with a representative. Emails tend to be sparse lacking in need to know information. At the time of writing this this would be my first time in florida as well as the orlando area as well as my first time attending this campus. I was very exited to travel and learn a trade ive always been interested in however. My optimism was quickly crushed by the lack of experience UTIs VA assistance department. So much so that if you told me none of their personnel were veterans I would believe you. Even if I were to be accepted and have the opportunity to train and learn about a trade I am very much interested in i would never recommend this institute two friends, family or even acquaintances due to how needlessly stressful, they make the application process for veterans/dependent benefits.

Enroll in this program if you want to hate becoming a dental hygienist by the time you're done. This place is soul crushing and where the dream goes to die.

The concept of the volunteer is to guide the guests & just be a kind person in their culinary journey This venue is breathtaking, the kitchen is awesome and the knowledge you gain is so worth the experience. I will definitely be back to volunteer again! The guests made: mac and cheese, green bean casserole, kale soup & an awesome salad with the veggies sourced from their own garden Please take a class! Ever since Publix Aprons Cooking School closed, I've been looking for a cooking school that has fun adult classes. The Kitchen House has just started a monthly "book club" called Plot to Plate where they feature a book that relates to or includes recipes. This month was Lessons in Chemistry so my friends and I decided to attend. We bought our tickets in advance as classes can sell out. The classes are different prices depending on what the class is. The house is in a residential neighborhood in College Park and does not have a dedicated parking lot so I would suggest getting there early as you have to find a spot along the street. When we arrived, we were greeted and given a welcome drink, in this case Cardamom Decaf Coffee because it was cold out. One of the instructors said that normally we would walk the garden at the beginning of class and also eat outdoors but since it was cold, we were going to skip the garden and eat inside. Once everyone arrived (cooking classes can have up to 20 people), we met in the lobby to start talking about different themes of the book. Then it was time to wash up and go to the kitchen. All the ingredients were set out for us and we picked the Veggie Pot Pie table with other attendees. The instructor gave us some knife skills lessons and then we all started cooking, using the recipes at our station. Each station makes one recipe so you don't get to make everything. And, the instructors and volunteers don't show you how to make everything first (like Publix Aprons used to do). But, if you just dig in and start going, it is a lot of fun. We had some questions along the way, like is there a spatula we can use? Or, is this the flour or the cornstarch? The volunteers were great and answered everything in a friendly way. As it said you could do in the welcome email we received before the class, some folks brought their own wine and the Kitchen House provided glasses and would pour for you. I think if we go back, we would definitely bring our own wine. My friends and I made the drop biscuits for the Veggie Pot Pie, which were surprisingly easy to make. We were finished early so we also make the Brownies for dessert that used olive oil and maple syrup instead of butter and sugar. When everyone was done cooking, we gathered in the lobby again while the volunteers cleaned and set up the table for dinner. Then, it was time to eat! Dinner was served buffet style and the Kitchen House split our food for people who had different dietary restrictions. For example, some of the recipes used non-dairy alternatives as some people in the class were lactose intolerant and one person had a mushroom allergy so they got a small spinach gallette instead of the mushroom Gallette for everyone else. As we sat down to eat, we discussed the book more in depth. Everything tasted great and we had a wonderful time. We received all the recipes in an email after the class so we could make the foods at home. I will definitely be looking at other adult classes here.
