I had to remind them to install the guard I paid for, but fine. The gutters match exactly the color of my exterior walls, and Houser Roofing provided good advice. So far, so good. The vent installation went fine, except they had to come back to install the duct correctly (the first installation was a bit of a fire hazard). But fine, they were graceful about it. The big disaster has been fixing a roof leak. The salesman came up with wild theories about the source. all wrong. It cost me thousands of dollars, with zero results. They came several times, and the last time, they said it was a plumbing issue. A plumber came and disagreed. So this leak has cost me a small fortune over 3-4 years. Finally, I called a local roof company. They found the source of the leak in 5 minutes. I don't want to be too harsh here. Roofing is not an exact science. I talked to the owner, and I don't feel he was there to scam me. It's more incompetence than malfaisance. I seem to be the only one with this experience.

The first company came out and looked at it and suggested a course of action, then Jeff from Houser came out and suggested a different course (more thorough and more expensive). He walked me through his thinking and what he recommended made more sense. He was professional and courteous (and didn't mind questions). On Tuesday, his crew came out and performed what was a reasonably extensive repair quickly and expertly. It turns out the repair the first company recommended would not have actually solved the problem (turns out there were leaks originating from multiple locations). We've had several big rains since, and the problem is, indeed solved. Kudos to Jeff and crew - job well done!

In back, I noticed our spigot was loose so I opened a small section of the Hardie board and noticed wood rot underneath. Yikes! Similar issue near the bathroom pop out window. I contacted Cornerstone Cowboys for an estimate via Yelp and Carlos responded quickly. Carlos, Jesus and Rosie came out the next day to take a look at our issues and to come up with a game plan. I was sent the estimate and gave them the go ahead. Jesus arrived bright and early to start and the job finished in a reasonable time. The areas that were fixed look FANTASTIC. P.S. Carlos, Jesus and Rosie were super friendly. The one thing we wish we had was a little more clarification with the pricing/estimate prior to signing it. I had asked questions and thought we were all on the same page. Unfortunately, there were added expenses that my husband and I thought were included that weren't and we had to pay extra. Regardless, we are happy with the work that was done and would definitely consider working with Cornerstone Cowboys. I hesitate to ever write something that would impact an individual's livelihood but after a year of…read moreworking with the business and owner I feel confident we've done everything possible to work through this privately first. This was a Covered Patio addition w/ fire pit and I'd say moderate cost. Pros: 1) The phone number listed is for the owner which is quite bold for any company. 2) They were very quick to respond for a quote. 3) They completed the job even through all of the struggles. Some may have taken the money and run. Cons: 1) The Project Manager, Cristian, assigned had very little oversight and added very little value beyond scheduling, ordering materials and translating. -We had to drive around town to locate the stone material we wanted to use in his price range (which didn't exist by the way). There were not recommendations of where to go or any samples available on hand that he'd spec'd. -We had to meet new contractors onsite and explain what they'd be doing. Inspect the job before they left. Look for issues and explain to everyone what needed to be fixed. -We found out in April that Cristian didn't know we were in a windstorm zone in Brazoria even though he was advised by the City Inspector who was not closing out the final inspection with out the engineer letter in January and Me at the beginning of the project where he noted it in the quote. *Still amazed* So the roof had to be replaced to meet the windstorm criteria. -We had to keep and maintain an Issues log for everyone to know what was remaining to be repaired. -We had to stay in constant communication w/ PM (and eventually the owner as well) if we wanted the job to move forward. Weeks would pass with no communication, no work, no major weather events and no explanations. -PM refused to schedule workers in parallel -Requests we made in quoting were explicitly ignored, such as the type of wood NOT to use or dimensions of the foundation. The foundation size was corrected luckily before they poured but unfortunately we reluctantly agreed to keep the wood if they could get the stain right... that took 4 attempts. -This was quoted as a 30 day job, which contracted 7/9/22 and today 8/25/23 we are submitting (as in I'm doing it myself) the paperwork to close out the last permit more than a year later. -In the end the PM/Owner decided they could not do a portion of the contract (French drains and yard regrade & resod) they agreed to and refunded that portion. We happily agreed as well. -We were lied to over and over throughout the process, overt small lies to cover up ignorance and then big whoppers. I don't do lies or liars. I tolerated it for a bit and then I didn't and my husband took over communications to keep the peace. But for anyone from Conerstone reading, honesty goes so much further. 2) The company didn't have relationships with subcontractors and used subpar labor for which they were testing on my project. -Every aspect of the job (except the foundation which is now chipping away) had to be redone 2+ times (up to 4 that I can remember) -There was an attempt to not get a plumbing permit to avoid using the more expensive labor required to run the gas line. After rerunning that line 3 times and getting the permit anyway I'm sure the cost more than caught up though. 3) The nature of our contract originally meant that we had paid for the covered patio before it was complete. From the point it was paid in January we became last priority. You can see on their FB page "Wrapping up another beautiful Patio Job"... 1/3/23... They staged a photo shoot with a gentleman with a cornerstone shirt (I assure you, they do not employ their own labor). How in the world that takes another 7.5 months, I'm sure would baffle all of you as well. Good luck in your search, this is not it.

Turns out the entire roof over the bathroom was uneven and improperly installed and needs to be replaced. Of course, the original roofer is AWOL and according to the seller, there's no warranty on the previous shoddy work. Despite this unique situation, Frank handled communicating with me (current homeowner) and the seller of the house who would be paying for the repair with incredible professionalism. Frank emailed detailed estimates promptly, answered my calls and texts at all hours of the day -- and sometimes night. When it came to do the work, he and one other worker did the work in half a day! Frank even sent me pictures of each step of the roofing progress so I know what's underneath those new shingles! They tracked down the specialty shingles to match the original roof exactly. We used AHR Roofing to do a completely new TPO roof replacement for a standalone building for our…read morebusiness. The owner, Alex, was very responsive at first. When the roof was completed, I did a walk through of the TPO material and asked why some major parts felt loose and was told him and his team that the adhesive would adhere later. It just needed some time. It never did. We also used the team he had subcontracted the work to, to install a new gutter. The nightmare really started a few months after the work had been completed. Heavy rain came and we noticed leaks in several spots inside our building above the breaker box and our kitchen hood vent and some spots closer to the front. Turns out his crew, which he subcontracted the work to, had not properly sealed some areas above our breaker box and didn't reattach the screws to our hood vent fan covers on the roof so they had their lids blown off from wind. Even the base of our units on the roof were missing ALL screws to keep them attached. Stay away from this company. Their work is on our business was incredibly bad, which caused further leaks after the fact and now they will not show up for the promised 20 year warranty. Our TPO roof has gaps many areas and it is bubbling everywhere. We have made multiple requests other the months to the owner, Alex Herrera, but he always finds an excuse to say our gutter caused the issues from his shoddy work. We have had several independent contractors review the TPO roof AHR Roofing installed and they all said the it is bad workmanship which is causing our continued leaks and has nothing to do with our gutter. We have multiple text messages to show how Alex is avoiding to fix his roof work under warranty by trying to blame it on a gutter we installed by it using another company.
