We were both beginners when we started, and he helped us build a solid foundation pretty quickly. In just a few months our rallies went from a few hits to 50+, which we definitely didn't expect when we first picked up a racket. Coach keeps things fun, relaxed, and easy to follow. He's great at breaking down technique -- forehands, backhands, footwork, consistency -- in a way that actually makes sense and sticks. He's also calm, encouraging, and funny, so we genuinely look forward to every lesson. Our lesson package has been totally worth it (and we plan to continue). I'd recommend him to anyone -- beginners, couples, or really anyone who wants to improve while having a good time.

Coach McClain is a good tennis coach. He can spot what you're doing wrong and correct you quickly…read morebut he chats you up about 30% of the hr long lesson. He also asked me to make a 5 star review right around the mid point of my lesson package (3/6) and spoke badly about people who left bad reviews and told me what to write. Two sessions ago, he asked me to show up 15 minutes early and I ended up waiting the entire time. He also spent the first 10 minutes recording a Facebook video ranting racist remarks about caucasians because he was upset the student before me seemed happy about getting shots on him when his body was weak due to arthritis. This most recent session I showed up on time but he chatted up the student before me 10 minutes past our start time as I waited outside. When I told him I had to leave due to another commitment, he did not acknowledge me at all and instead responded "no worries, I'm going home." I think if I'm being honest, I felt slightly uncomfortable as a woman about how he would text me constantly about things unrelated to our lessons (his health, his personal expenses, restaurants he would visit, etc).

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I only play pickleball here so can't speak to the tennis side of things, but the pickleball experience is top notch. Shout-out to Joel if you're taking lessons. Patient, clear, actually makes you better. Try to get him if you can. If you are a complete newbie, a clinic or group class is helpful. Beyond that, I think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. Instructors are good but with that many people on a court, you don't get individual attention. They recently started offering smaller-group lessons which seems like a better format. Now the asterisk. Reservations are basically impossible. Booking opens at 12:30pm and courts are gone in, not an exaggeration, one second. Again, I'm not exaggerating. And even if you click at exactly 12:30:00, you still might not get one. I've also heard the owners aren't fans of pickleball and aren't planning to add more courts, which if true is a bummer because the demand is obviously there. Honestly the reservation thing is so bad I went back and forth on whether this should be four stars. But the place itself is so great, maybe it's just a victim of its own success. If you CAN get a reservation, it's unbeatable.

Since the courts are public, I'd be willing to contract and pay for time/security/etc. for approximately 10-days for qualifying rounds. The contact stated that they do *not* rent space for private tournaments. Weird, but fair enough. Then it was brought to my attention by several other people that the Kunal Patel ("KPSF Open") happens at this very site. I don't understand people using public spaces as their personal clubhouse where they pick-and-choose their policies. It's weird energy and after reading other reviews, it sounds like inconsistency is a pattern here.
