Patient, clear, actually makes you better. Try to get him if you can. If you are a complete newbie, a clinic or group class is helpful. Beyond that, I think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. Instructors are good but with that many people on a court, you don't get individual attention. They recently started offering smaller-group lessons which seems like a better format. Now the asterisk. Reservations are basically impossible. Booking opens at 12:30pm and courts are gone in, not an exaggeration, one second. Again, I'm not exaggerating. And even if you click at exactly 12:30:00, you still might not get one. I've also heard the owners aren't fans of pickleball and aren't planning to add more courts, which if true is a bummer because the demand is obviously there. Honestly the reservation thing is so bad I went back and forth on whether this should be four stars. But the place itself is so great, maybe it's just a victim of its own success. If you CAN get a reservation, it's unbeatable.

His knee hurts after exercising so decided not to continue. He gave me his card but the registration person said cannot share card even though he canceled and not using it. His picture showed up when I tried to sign in with the card. The facility here is also not good compared to Fitness SF. Adult membership is $91 and Senior is $81 so not much of a discount even though his is paid for by Kaiser. They have free resistance band workout every other Wednesday at the Union Square plaza at 8am. It's a free class and the instructor is nice.

Yuri's Tennis really combines everything you could be looking for - he is very responsive, cool sense of humor, Very deep knowledge and skills of World Class tennis COACH - within relatively short period of time he elevated my game from 3.0 player to 4.0! Always engaged, personable, caring, generous teacher and Guy! Also, I noticed he's coaching literally All Ages, All levels, private and groups! Considering the fact, that he is in fact, Licensed and USPTA Certified Pro - something almost Never you'll see / meet on the Public courts - I find his Rates lower than Reasonable! He's a rock star of Tennis Coaching & hundreds of folks in the park affectionately call him a Mayor :) I met many of his students - adults and kids, from absolutely all racial,ethnic and professional backgrounds - and what we all get in common is - leaving his lessons with joy of accomplishment.. and simply great mood. I've had a great experience training with Yuri. He's super responsive, very professional, and clearly knows what he's doing as a USPTA-certified coach, which really shows in how he runs each session. Scheduling is always easy, and everything just feels well-organized. What I like most is how accommodating he is. He adjusts to your level and what you need that day, so nothing ever feels forced or overly structured. His prompts are also very memorable. I catch myself thinking about them while playing, which is to me the biggest proof they work. He's also perfect for couples. I play with my husband, and Yuri balances both of us really well, so we're improving together but still having fun. And I LOVE where he teaches. I first learned how to play tennis when I was about 12 and gave it up after a month of instruction. If I'd had Coach Yuri as my teacher, I think I would've never dropped the game, and may have been a far more accomplished player today. With the help of Coach Yuri's highly effective teaching methods, however, I may still have a shot at coming close to becoming that player. Over the past few months that I've been learning tennis from him, he has keenly observed my style of playing, my strengths and weaknesses, and adapted his teaching methodology to best help me. For example, he keeps telling me to stay calm while making my shots, and just that advice has significantly improved the consistency of my strokes. I'm a beginner and knew I wanted a well-regarded coach to teach me. Yuri's name was at the top of every search result. Yuri must be the hardest working man in San Francisco. He coaches everyday of the week, often from morning to late at night. And yet, he got back to me on the day I first reached out and met with me for my first lesson the following Saturday. After several lessons, it's become clear why he's so popular: Yuri has all the qualities of an excellent teacher in abundance. He's kind. He makes every lesson funny and every concept memorable. He watches carefully and corrects mistakes patiently. He's encouraging. And, above all, he reminds me to enjoy myself. I've really enjoyed the time we've spent together. Whenever I have a lesson with Yuri, I always know it's going to be a good day! He's upbeat, encouraging, responsive to texts, easy to schedule lessons with, and gets excited/pumped up when you hit a great shot - what more do you need? I started up tennis lessons this year (have had 4 so far), after being out of the game for years - I started playing in middle school during the summers through a local parks and recreation program, and took it more seriously in high school while playing on the high school team (training with a coach in the summers, and played on the school team in the fall). Since then, I've played recreationally on and off, but decided this was the year that I would get back into it. Don't fall for all of his fake reviews tht are mostly written by his neighbors who play @ mountain lake park. I called him multiple no of times asking him his rate for how much he would charge for a session to which he replied that rates would be discussed in person. As soon as I got to the court, he discussed about his teaching method and wouldn't discuss abt the price. He said we can talk abt it after the class. His class was decent bt he was trying to sell me his 5 class package for 1200 dollars and when I said to him, I need to think about it, he demanded I pay 250 dollars for his 1 and a half hour class. Pure car salesman tactic and very dishonest. I have had conversation with few elderly people who play @ mountain lake park and no one seems to like him. He is a total scammer. read more

He has a knack for engaging his students in a way that ensures they make progress with each lesson. Yuri is a fantastic teacher! My husband and I took lessons every week for over three years and loved it. We started as beginners and Yuri combined the perfect balance of skill, mental focus and insight, and a love of the game. He is respectful and thoughtful and cares deeply about all his students. I've started playing tennis again after a long break. Yuri's has been working with me to update my game and has been very patient with me through the process. He has the best way of explaining how to adjust my stroke by giving me great visual clues. He's always on time and ready for our lesson and very responsive via text. Yuri mixes up the drills to make every lesson different and fun. I've improved so much with his instruction! I'm hoping to schedule lessons for my kids with him soon. read more

Very difficult to contact the people. The tennis services are not very responsive. They did not respond to any of my emails. I saw all good reviews so I thought about recommending lessons to a kid I babysit for, but it is impossible to contact the people at Yuri's Tennis Services. I'm rating 2 because I've never actually seen the tennis lessons IRL - so I believe the 5 star reviews mean something, but because it's impossible to contact, I can't say to recommend unless you get time to burn. read more

Yuri is a joy to work with and is very responsive with scheduling. He takes the time to observe how you play and comes up with drills or advice on how to overcome your weaknesses. He is very good at analyzing how you move and correcting bad habits. He is encouraging and always has a good attitude. He also makes sure you learn some strategy so that you play better in games with your friends. He works hard at keeping his credentials and teaching certificates up to date. read more

We are extremely happy with Yuri and his coaching of our 7 year old twin girls. They are making such a significant progress from lesson to lesson. Yuri is great with kids, instilling discipline and focus while maintaining a playful atmosphere. His schedule is very flexible and he adjusts it based on our needs (two professional parents juggling work). He mixes just the right amount of explanation/verbal instruction with intuitive training, by that I mean choosing the right drills, and within those drills giving me the right shots to help me learn through doing. He has correctly identified flaws in my game and given me actionable steps to improve. He's conscious of not making things too hard or discouraging. He checks in frequently and although he pushes me on the court with his shots, he keeps the atmosphere light. He's also a very nice and funny guy and I enjoy his company.
