I used to work here in college!! (10+ years ago) Was visiting SB and during Covid Times it's hard to know what stores are open or not. This Coach Factory is open with tons of great items and discounts for you. Very organized with everyone super helpful. Coach items are all discounted and there are purses, wallets, umbrellas, men's items, clothes, etc. Right now they monitor the amount of people in the store with a barricade up to let people in for social distancing, , and hand sanitizer. This store is small and located on State St. along with other stores nearby. All the purses, wallets, sunglasses, and other accessories are neatly organized. ::Experience:: I'm a picky purse person so it took me a long time to figure out which purse I wanted. I walked around the store many times. Finally, it came down to three purses. When I made my decision, my final purchase was two wallets, sunglasses, and a purse. The only other times I've set foot in a Coach store is at the outlet malls. Even then, I don't really buy anything. You're looking at someone who just bought a used purse for $7 on a Facebook Yardsale group..... HAHA The purses I do have were gifts and my Ex-boyfriend gave me a Coach purse for Christmas before which I've sold on eBay since then. My friend from work and I were walking on State St. looking at the various shops because we had 2 hours to kill before our dinner reservation. We were also surprised to find a Coach "factory" store here. As soon as we stepped through the doors, one of the ladies working there hands me a 50% off coupon. What? Nice! Some of the items were already marked down (on sale) and she said the coupon would work towards any of those items as well. (Sweet....) My friend ended up buying a bunch of belts which only came out to $19 each. I wanted to get a pair of sunglasses, but I didn't like any of the styles they had. I actually didn't think I was going to buy anything until I saw the wristlets on sale. Mind you, that I currently use a Hello Kitty wristlet that I bought at Target for $1 and I bring that with me if I don't want to lug my purse around. All I need is my I.D., a credit card, and some cash. HAHAH Okay, so I guess it's time for an upgrade. This was my second time at the store. The first time, my experience was a 5 star visit. The sales people were welcoming and helpful from the moment I walked in the door. This time, there were 2 different sales people. No one greeted us and no one offered to help us. I bought 2 purses for about $200, and left. 2 stars for a good deal. Zero stars for service. There were 3-4 customers already in the store, and another one entered while we were there ( my daughter and I were shopping). The one who entered was greeted as soon as she entered, and she was offered help. When my daughter and I left, we realized why we were ignored until I'd paid: the sales people and all the other customers were Caucasian. I am Chinese, and my daughter is Hapa. We were having a great girl day out and just wondering around SB. My friend drifted into the store and said my hand bad is getting really bad let's look. Ok I said and she was picking up some bags. Right away a young lady started to help her. Then we moved onto the side of the store and Jorge said hello! My friend said she wanted a particular size and color. Jorge helped her. Jorge then gave her some suggestions and told us about his mom not using the the extra strap for the hand bags he bought her. He was so kind and friendly. So I must admit that his knowledge of the products was more then extensive. I am a retired sales force district manager. My team generated approximately 35-40mil a quarter in retail sales. So I am very sensitive to the tactics of salesman. :). Needless to say good old fashion sincerity, human connection and knowledge of products is still a closer. Jorge is is a stock manager ???!!! He should be lead salesman! (Management) He not only helped us but a few other customer at once. He worked the floor like a excellently choreographed concert! We walked out of the store feeling good with 2 hand bags and 2 wallets!!! We just went into LooooK. This Coach store is an outlet and one of the few that sells the Signature pattern print (the Coach C's). Plenty of scarves, purses, wallets, men's leather goods and accessories (Signature print contact lense cases, pill cases, umbrellas, keychains) It is smaller than the Camarillo outlet, which sold very little of the Signature print. Some of the purses in the outlet I had seen at retail stores a month ago, so they get them pretty fast. Each time I've been here, sales staff have handed me coupons for an extra percentage off my total. I'm not sure if I've arrived at the right time or if they always give out these coupons. I've been in this story many times, and have bought multiple purses here- however this past week I encountered a rude sales person, and I'm not sure how often I will go back. One note- if you work in customer service, you should remember that you are there to SERVE the CUSTOMER-- and not be rude. I was in there with my sister in law who was visiting from out of town - and the store was likely filled with tourists, but that shouldn't mean that the salesperson (Veronica) should be rude. On two different occasions, I tried to ask her a question, and she either didn't answer me or walked right past me. Then we went to pay for our purchase, and stood waiting for her to get off the phone for 5 minutes. Only after she got off the phone, did she tell us her register was not open and we would have to go to the other line. Again with customer service- you should probably serve the customers in the store, rather then the ones on the phone! I complained to another sales associate, and asked to talk with the manager, and that associate just ended up telling Veronica. All that being said- I have had plesant experiences in the store. This is one of the best locations with very reasonable markdowns. I have found something beautiful every time I've been here. This time, I found a wallet and a travel wallet. Christian was the sales associate who assisted me. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and not at all pushy. Before I begin, I must admit I'm not a huge fan of Coach. Their stuff is alright but if I had a choice at a designer ANYTHING, Coach wouldn't come to mind. But I do give this good ratings because I love coming here to buy stuff for my mom. First off, Coach always has classic, good material handbags/wallets that aren't too all over the place. Although I'm not crazy over their logo being patterened onto almost everything, you can always find something to suit your taste. What's even better about this store is that it's an affordable deisgner place for a poor college student like me. They always have their prices knocked down PLUS an additional 20-40% depending on the time/item. So for a good quality bag that would normally cost $300, I can get it for around $150. Which is really good seeing that I bought a bag for that exact price, and saw online that they were selling the same thing everywhere--the cheapest price being $250. I have been in "need" of a new bag for quite some time, however the economy is not so great and saving money has been the name of my game. However, once in a while one needs to treat themselves. When you walk by the outside of this store nothing gives away that it is an outlet, it's only when you walk in that you realize the magic that is about to happen in your life. This outlet is great because it has a lot of the most recent bags that have been in the Coach stores or online. The bag I ended up purchasing was one that I have had my eye on for several months but could not justify paying $400, however $160 fit my price range just fine (although don't tell my bf this). The store is conveniently located in the heart of State street and the clerk was friendly and greeted me when I walked in the door. They have a good selection but I was expecting more. The Camarillo outlet store I think has a better selection. This place seemed so random. I came by here because I was on state street and was surprised to find the factory store and not a coach boutique. Lucky for me they were having an additional 75% off clearance sale inbetween Christmas and new years. I ended up getting a coach wrist let for less than $20 which is a great deal. My boyfriend and I went into the store last night. They had amazing deals and I fell in love with a bag and a pair of boots. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with the bag and a perfume. While I was super thankful, I asked him to return it because it was a want and not a need (obviously). He was greeted upon passive aggressive/ sarcastic comments from the employees. Stating he was there so soon, asking if he was there for the boots I had tried on. He stated he was actually there to return the the items and they were not happy about it, as they were rude and gave him attitude. I assume they work on commission, but the guy who was rude about the situation wasn't even the one who sold us the items. They act super entitled themselves, and I'm glad we chose to return the items and not give them the sale if that's the kind of people they are. I love my Coach. They actually had a lot of good deals when I went this past weekend. $99 with 30% off a handbag... of course I didn't get it, but I got a iPad case for $88 with 30% off. As any woman can tell you, Coach Purses are an "in" thing and have been for some time. While certainly not the highest-end brand out there, they can still set you back hundreds of dollars. Am I right here, guys? That being said, its fun to find "outlet" stores like this which tend to sell overstocks, discontinued items and so forth at discounts (sometimes quite deep). I've treated my wife and mother to more than one rather fashionable handbag from here. The prices are fair...for what you're buying (don't get me started on why women seem to need soooooooo many purses! argh!). Their selection always seems to be really good too. What really seems to make a difference is the service. The gals who work here are really friendly and very knowledgeable about their products - and they never have put any pressure on me or my wife to buy. I'll never forget her or her name. She was so delightful. Very knowledgeable and she helped me acquire the right hand bag for myself with the utmost concern for what I wanted. This Coach Outlet, ahem, Factory Store is thrown in amongst the regular-priced shops on State Street, masquerading as the real deal until you step inside. It is an oasis of good deals if, like me, you deign to look oh-so past season. The best deals are usually around holidays like Xmas, Memorial Day, etc. when they tack on an extra discount. When the Signature collection was all the rage, the Santa Barbara factory store was the first in California to get the cast-offs, according to the salesclerk. This tidbit was later confirmed by my mom whilst shopping at the Gilroy store the following week. Speaking of which, the Gilroy location is always a frenzy of Asian women purchasing multiple handbags and wallets. You'd think they were like ten bucks a piece. read more

If there was a negative star for this Coach store that would be my score for this place. Apparently Veronica or Megan (manager or assistant manager) limits the purchases of me and my fellow shoppers. The rule limit 10 signature and 10 leather per person not per group of people which I experienced. This was my first time shopping here and I felt discriminated because I was Asian. This was a horrible experience and if your Asian I don't recommend you shop here. I think if I was Caucasian it would have been a different story. I shop Coach on a regular occasion at different locations with great customer service and this store is by far the WORSE! Who has the authority to tell me what I can or cannot buy?
