Took some out of state friends for a fun day of thrifting and was humiliated after going to this store. An older woman who was not the owner was working and was rude and curt to everyone in my party including my husband who was more than happy to drop alot of money in there for me. I am older and she followed me around like I was a shoplifter. She accused one of the gals I was with of changing a price tag, then got made at me because I put my purchases on the counter to check out. I seriously would have left but was so embarrassed I did not want to ruin the day and the gals I were with were blown away at her rudeness. She also turned to my husband and son as he was shopping with me and said "there is a book store across the street!" as if she did not want them in the store. I ended up buying all my over priced purchases anyhow and left. I seriously almost put everything back and walked out but like I said did not want to ruin the day. Avoid this place at all cost. It is over priced for second hand clothing even in Carpenteria. Go to American Cancer Discovery stores or Assistance League stores instead where you are treated with respect. Why the owner allows such a rude lady to work for her is beyond my understanding. I should have listened to the other reviews that said the same things. read more

I have been coming to Twice As Niice consignment for several years now. Jana, the owner, does a fantastic job of bringing in a variety of styles and at good prices. It's my first go to when looking for something new, and I rarely leave empty handed. The selection of clothes are seasonally appropriate, and Jana is good about having those shoulder season items as well. Clothing, shoes, jewelry, belts, bags, name it, her store is small but packed with treasures! I have even started consigning there and her pricing is fair. If you're looking for a cold, irritated, unwelcome shopping/thrifting experience, this is your store! I came in today ready to spend money and support a local business and the woman working there could not have been more cold and unwelcoming. Every question I asked was met with a curt response. It was so bizarre and sad. I bought several jeans from the rack outside which was a good deal, but only one item from inside because it was such a cold, unwelcome atmosphere. Quaint little boutique with clothes, handbags, shoes, etc. Very clean and organized. The gal at the counter was very warm and friendly. They had a couple of dressing rooms to try items on. They had a $5 rack in front with some great items. I will definitely be going back. Located the the charming city of Carpinteria. read more

Took designer clothes in before Christmas. New with tags. Was told to leave them and I would be called. Never got a call. Went back. Was told "So sorry, the owner has been sick she'll call you." Went back. Yes, we haven't had time to look at the clothes. We'll call you." No call. Went back and asked about my clothes. It's been over a month. The owner starts yelling at me. Just based on a newspaper ad, I made an appt to put some clothes on consignment. At the appt I learned the owner, Jana, had only assumed ownership of the shop a few months prior. I found her easily friendly and easy to transact with (she took a majority of my clothing lot, I was happy!) - and I found a few things in the shop for myself, including a purse I just love now. Her pricing seems to be moderate as compared to other stores in Santa Barbara proper, with clothing options from formal, to businesswear, to casual. We looked into this shop after extensive thrift shopping in LA and Santa Barbara, and we were glad we did, Although the store is on the small side (despite that it has TWO dressing rooms!) , the merchandise is well curated, the store is very well organized, and the prices are very fair. The $5 rack on the porch is worth a look. The proprietor is extremely helpful and pleasant. We loved it, and plan to return. read more
