The doctors at Coachella Valley Care are excellent--knowledgeable, caring, and attentive to their patients. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the office staff. I have repeatedly had to make multiple phone calls and return visits because things were not handled correctly during my initial appointment. Simple tasks seem to require constant follow-up, which is frustrating and time-consuming. I am also very concerned about the accuracy of my blood pressure readings. On two separate occasions, a male staff member recorded unusually high readings and informed me that my blood pressure was elevated. However, when my blood pressure was taken by a female staff member and when I monitored it at home as instructed by my doctor, the readings were consistently normal. This raises serious concerns about whether proper procedures are being followed. While I highly recommend the doctors, the office staff's lack of consistency and attention to detail has made my overall experience disappointing. 45 min wait time after coming 10 minutes prior to appointment time. Let me begin by saying that I located this office because there were no other local Primary Care Physicians who could give me an appointment sooner than 5 months out. I needed an appointment and Dr.Troy Cashatt was the ONLY available physician in the desert who could see me within 5 months (he is currently working with a "restricted" medical license). Contrary to other reviews, he did not make me cry during the visit, and he was polite. At the end of the appointment he gave me a lab slip. I made an appointment for routine lab work that required fasting. On the night before my lab appointment, I fasted. The following morning I arrived to have my lab work done, and discovered that the Coachella Valley Care staff had not provided the correct numbers on the requisition. I returned to Coachella Valley Care and requested that they correct the lab slip. I waited patiently for an hour in the office to get a new lab slip. I set up another appointment to have labs done. For a second time, I fasted. When I arrived to have my labs done, I was once again told by the lab site that the numbers were incorrect. I returned to the CVC for a 3rd time. I arrived at 12:30 and waited outside in the heat for their office to open at 1:00 pm. When the doors opened, I was first in line. I explained the situation to the front desk clerk. She rudely me "I have patients to check in and you don't have an appointment. Take a seat and wait." I waited while she checked in around 10 people. An hour later she told me that my paperwork would be fixed and someone would call me back. I subsequently called their office for almost two weeks to get someone, anyone, to call me back. Even the wonderful lab technician who works at Eisenhower called and left messages with no response. After a multitude of unreturned phone calls, I called my PPO. A wonderful liaison assisted me with obtaining a corrected lab requisition. This took 3 weeks, 2 attempted lab draws, involving my PPO provider and the lab technician. Another reviewer stated that, as clients, we should have "patience" because the office staff are busy. I do have patience. What I don't have is toleration for incompetence. The office manager at CVC should set a standard for a level of excellence beginning with the front office staff. It is disturbing that the staff are allowed to not return phone calls and not provide basic error free lab requisitions. In my opinion, the office manager and front office staff should be fired. This level of neglect is unacceptable for those of us who pay a lot of money for our medical insurances and coverages. We expect a minimum level of courtesy, care, promptness, and efficiency. read more

I had an appointment and was seen an hour after my appointment, while i had been in the back room I had someone from work call me, i picked it up beacuse i had been waiting for over 25 min in the back room and answered. once the doctor came in I hung up and said i have to go. I just wanted to say I saw Dr. Cashatt today. Great doctor, friendly, answered all my questions. Put me in a good mood. He was very thorough, and knowledgeable, which I have to say is not the norm with most doctors here in the Desert. They usually don't seem genuine and or thorough in my visits. It's like they don't seem as if they even looked at my chart and then rush u out, so it was a really good experience and I will definitely come back and request to see him again next visit. read more

I can't understand how this practice has been authorized to treat patients. While Dr Snyder seems to be fairly competent, he is only in the office one Thursday a month. He does do phone appointments three Thursdays a month. How can any doctor only be available 4 days a month and dispense needed care? When told I could see the other doctors, I was advised no one is in the office every workday of the month. They are only in two days a week or so. While they have an office in Indio, that's not covered so no way to be seen there. Calls to make any inquiries are always on hold for a while and trying to reach the lines for referrals or med refills go nowhere. Leaving messages is useless as no one ever returns a call. The staff advise you to come to the office rather than call but that doesn't work out either. Med refills are a nightmare. Definitely will be filing a complaint with my insurance company and changing doctors. Can't leave a zero star! read more

Do not waste your time in this place Michael Mostin should get his license taken (Janelle should go to work for a different dr. as she is good) but the rest of the office are fresh or still in school. I had a health issue a while back may e closed to two years AND IM STILL WAITING FIR MY REFERRAL!!!! WARNING DANGER BEWARE!!! Worst doctor experience of my life. Avoid like the plague. They don't care about patients. ZERO care. I question if they are licensed professionals. They have multiple grievances against them and I wouldn't be surprised after reading the other reviews that this office closes down. They wrote the wrong orders for me, missed so many things I told them. They don't listen. They won't care if your blood pressure is in the 160's. They just don't. It's so sad. You won't be able to reach anyone to talk to. They don't return messages. Ever. Lastly, CV care will attach a good doctors name to the office when in fact that doctor has no affiliation. I have verified this and will not names because the doc I spoke to was so surprised they were even affiliated with CV care. I was dumb and listened to the first 5 star review without looking at the rest (question if maybe that person works there or has some kind of relationship. Don't listen to them.) I certainly don't understand all of these negative reviews. I have been a patient at Coachella Valley Care, for a few years now. And also have friends who are. I have always received top notch care and treatment by everyone I have come in contact with. Of course there were times I had to wait a bit longer than I wanted too. But in all fairness, there have been multiple times that I was also given more time than I am sure is allotted. I've never felt rushed, overlooked or dismissed. My calls have always been returned and I've not had any issues with prescriptions. Perhaps a bit of patience and understanding should be considered, these Doctors, PA's MA's and staff are extremely overworked. Especially with the pandemic. As for being upset for them not being open at 11:55 am, when they are closed for lunch from 12:00-1:00. Are you serious. If you think 6 friggin minutes is a fair amount of time to see a dr.... If you are looking for the kinda service you get at the DMV go no further then Coachella Valley Care. They will provide you with no "care", no accountability, and if that wasn't enough you get an extra dollop of no urgency. I found Coachella Vally Care through Aetna's primary care search engine. I had the opportunity to visit them just twice (one other time for a 5 minute review of a blood test) and I was assigned to Eric Sloan, PA (a physician's assistant). He's a nice guy, BUT the office staff is where you'll get the DMV service. Let me explain to you the challenges I received just trying to get a simple thing as a prescription from them: 1) I went in for severe wrist pain on a Tuesday, April 21st. Eric recommended that I start with a topical ointment prescription and he would have the office call it into CVS. 2) I waited two days but never heard from CVS, so I called CVS and they said it was never approved, so I called the Coachella Care office staff and asked them what the holdup might be and they said they sent a fax but never heard back from the insurance company and that they would resend. 3) Two more days passed I called Coachella Care office again and they said the same thing (that they sent a fax but received no response). So I called the insurance company but they said they had not received the two faxes they claim to have sent. So I immediately called back Coachella Care and asked for a supervisor (they said she was in a meeting) and they said that they would call the insurance company directly. I asked them to call me with the insurance company's response. They never called me back. 4) The following Monday I called Coachella Care for a 3rd time and asked them what the status was, they said they had not heard back and they said they would call the insurance company again. I asked them again to call me back after they called. For a 3rd time, they never called me back. 5) On Wednesday (Now 7 business days later) I called the insurance company to check on the approval status, they said they had rejected the request but had sent back a different ointment recommendation and that they said they sent it back on Tuesday but had not received a response from Coachella Care. So, yet again, I called Coachella Care and asked to speak to the supervisor (again she was in a meeting), so I asked to speak to her boss (Doctor Curry). I called Dr. Curry and left her a voice mail early yesterday about all of my challenges - now 48 hours later, and I still haven't received a call back. So in summary, they never faxed my prescription in (twice). I had to prompt them to call for approval (twice). They did receive a counter request and but they never responded to them or to me. They never returned any of my calls to their office (3 times), and their manager's supervisor ignored my call for assistance. Oh well, I guess the word "Care" in their embellished title is just a marketing gimmick and not an actionable word. My next call is to Aetna to let them know they have a bad seed on their primary care provider list. read more

My only experience is at the Palm Desert location, but the whole thing seems like a strange scheme. First off, do not expect to get ahold of your doctor unless you somehow get their cellphone. All calls are routed to a call center where you can leave messages. They also couldn't send a prescription for my heart inflammation for over a week. I also made an appointment to see a specific doctor, when I showed up that doctor had the day off and I the saw a PA who seemed to have smoked a lot of meth at one point. Go anywhere else. read more

If you had asked me to leave a positive review of this practice before today, I probably would have, but after a brief phone call with the doctor, that's not going to happen. Everything went smoothly enough during the two appointments I've had. I then called a month later to ask about getting a different Rx prescribed as the other was causing side effects. When Dr. Cashatt returned my call today, he was horribly rude, unprofessional and told me not to come back! It basically came out of nowhere. I'm not even sure what prompted this. I thanked him for his concern when he went on and on and on about having certain things done. He seemed very antagonistic at the few questions I asked. Perhaps he got offended that I didn't like the Rx he prescribed, but it was a very unpleasant encounter and very wrong and unfair of him to treat me like that. Idk whether you can blame the whole practice for his awful behavior, but I also didn't appreciate the phone call which preceded his in which they asked me to pay the regular office visit fee for a phone call that would take a minute. Maybe he was bitter that I had refused to be gouged like that. Who knows. He was a jerk. A big one. That's all I know. read more

I have called every day for the last 13 days to get a Rx refilled. I keep getting the same answer of ok we'll call it in. Finally spoke to someone Thursday morning (2 days ago) who said I needed an appointment with the dr to get it refilled. I said ok make the appointment. Then was told it's going to be a phone appointment. Ok no problem. I need the Rx. I have only 2 days left at this point. She puts me on hold and comes back to say the dr is calling it in. No need for an appointment. Well Friday (yesterday) still no refill. I call again. Different girl says to call back at noon and she'll have it ready. I call back at 3. Still no Rx. She says it will be called in within the hour. Nope still no Rx and now I'm completely out. I called the after hours phone this morning and was first "disconnected". Called back and was told I have to call the dr mom-fri and then hung up on. I'm reporting the entire practice to our state medical board for incompetence. read more

Just plain awful - Dr Michael Mostyn the doctor at Palm Desert location, if he even exists, runs the worst doctors office I have ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with. My son initially was seen by the nurse practitioner as the doctor was busy. I received a STAT referral but yet after 2 weeks still had to follow up twice to see what was going on. Recently my son after a ER visit was referred back to my PCP Dr M Mostyn but he wouldn't even take the time to talk with me and referred me back to ER via his receptionist. Also a form for my son sat there for nearly two weeks and no response, and no signature. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star otherwise this app won't accept 0 stars. From day 1 I've had problems with this facility. If you like below standard care, this is the place for you. The staff are mostly nice except for a few staff members throw shade. They've screwed up medications, either by not having a doctor singed for the controlled substance or it's not called into express scripts. I've asked doctors and staff members to please correct this issue and send my meds through express scripts for the last four months. I was told twice by two different staff members recently that it's been called in. Well... it wasn't signed by the doctor. No one, neither express scripts or the staff did not double check to see if it went through and if I'm told by 2 staff members it was taken care of, I though it was, but NO!! So I had to go to the emergency room and get a 7 day supply till I can deal with this. Major F'd up problem that I have to deal with. Bottom line this is a low-end clinic and it's mismanaged by the staff who haven't been trained properly, Thursday I went to my psychiatrist to discuss what has transpired in the last 4 months and he did in 20sec. Worst experience of my life! (Palm Desert Office) I am a new patient, first time visit I get seen by nurse practitioner JEANNE PERAFAN, FNP-BC. She is the most unprofessional nurse I have ever come in contact with and I used to deal with nurses through FREE medical insurance if that says anything. When I didn't understand what she was saying she proceeeded to yell and physically CLAP in my face. I am not a child who isn't listening, I didn't understand what she was saying and I was expressing my concern as a patient and as I have the right to. I gathered my things left the exam room and proceeded to the lobby. She FOLLOWED me and continued to yell through the glass that she told me 3 times what she meant and I still didn't understand. As a patient I don't care if you have to tell me a million times what something means, that's your job!! I told her that I was done speaking to her and to stop yelling at me to which she replied that she doesn't have respect for her patients to listen to me. I have never been so utterly disrespected by someone who thinks she has power. What an embarrassment this unprofessional woman is to this establishment. If she spoke this way to me and acted like this to me I can only imagine how she has been with other patients and to her staff. I highly recommend that no one ever be subjected to JEANNE PERAFAN under this medical office Coachella Valley Care ever again. They don't know how to return a call they don't know how to properly set appointments they don't know how to call in medication they don't do their job. I had an appointment on Thursday 06/07/2018, at 2:15 pm with Suzonne M. Windham the nurse practitioner at Coachella Valley Care Medical Group located at 41865 Boardwalk, Suite 103 Palm Desert, CA 92211 Tell #: 760-541-5888 Fax #: 760-391-5159, where I have been seeing nurse practitioner for the past two years. Every single time I had an appointment in this office they make me wait at least forty five minutes to an hour just to put me in to a room, after that there is at least another thirty minutes to see the nurse practitioner. Besides Suzonne Windham I have never ever seen another medical doctor in this office. Even though Dr. Michael Mostyn who is my primary care provide I have never seen him. Today and always after waiting a long period of time to see the nurse practitioner Suzonne came in to the room and like her usual after talking to me for maybe five minuets she left the room to go get me a referral for GI that I requested from her. She never returned to the room to give me the GI referral information, nor ask me if I needed anything else such as medication or if I had any other questions. Instead she sends her medical assistant back to the room after waiting another ten minutes to let me know Suzonne will be putting a request for a GI referral. I told the medical assistant that I was not done seeing the doctor that I had more questions, and asked if she can ask Suzonne to return back to the room. After a few times of going back and forth with the medical assistant the medical assistant told me that Suzonne wasn't going to return to my room, because she was done with me and she was with another patient. I was very confused and concerned that a medical nurse practitioner would leave the patient in the room without finishing up and moving on to the next patient. When I walked out of the exam room to asked the medical assistant to tell Suzonne to at least return the forms I had asked her to fill out, I saw Suzonne was not with another patient, as a matter of the fact she was in her office and she was not with another patient as lied to me. Her office door is frosty and you can see how many people are in the room, and I could see it was only Suzonne in the room alone. My husband was talking out loud so Suzonne could hear to come out and finish up her care with me. Instead she cracked the door open slightly and put out her cell phone out to record what my husband was asking her to do. She was also on the phone telling one of the medical assistants she was on the phone calling 911. I then I asked Suzonne why are you calling the police on your patient instead of providing care for the patient. Then I asked again and again from Suzonne and the three medical assistants to give me back my paper work that belongs to me. Finally Suzonne gave my forms to one of the medical assistants and she returned the forms to me and I left. This is not the first time they make me wait for long periods of time, and she sees me for five to ten minutes then bills my insurance for 25 minutes. I went and looked on line today and found out that they have billed claims to my insurance company with dates of services that I had no knowledge of with different provider names. Suzonne Windham provided me with poor quality of care for the last two years, and today when I complained for the first time she called the police on me. Please see that this nurse practitioner does not continue to do this to other patients, as I have already informed and filed a complaint with my insurance company to be aware of her medical practice. I also left a message for Dr. Michael Mostyn today who is her boss, so he knows of her behavior as well. read more

Palm Desert Office off Cook Street. In my (humble) opinion, this office should close down. There are no doctors at this office. My "doctor" is actually a nurse practitioner who I like very much, but she isn't a doctor. I urgently needed to see a doctor for a blood clot that was developing in my groin area due to a vascular procedure I had a couple of months prior. The office told me to check myself into the hospital. I had to solve the blood clot problem completely on my own - with no help from this office. In addition, during this traumatic period (for me), this office was unsympathetic, rude and treated me like I was crazy. Having suffered from DVT blood clots in the past I'm well aware of the symptoms. The office offered to give me an appointment a month and a half later. I took that appointment, though the blood clot dissipated, knowing I had other issues I needed to see a doctor for, namely premature skin cancers on my skin. When I went to see the doctor today, he literally spent less than 5 minutes with me, and was trying to head out of the exam room in less than 3 minutes. The doctor (who apparently is in the office two days/month), could not be more uninterested in what ailed me. Looking at the other reviews, mine reads just like theirs!!
