IDS was the suggested office so I had the procedure done. I did some research watching doctor and patient review videos and learned a root canal is not as bad as the age old stories portend so I was more at ease. And since my root was not or never had been infected which as I understand is the reason a root canal may hurt to have done in the first place, the experience was not unpleasant at all. Doctor Silvestrin did my procedure and at the end he asked how it went and I replied "piece of cake". The initial deep shots of course didn't feel great but otherwise everything was fine. The worst part if anything was the clamping of the tooth and dental dam to push down my gum and that is just more a feeling of pressure rather than any pain. Never even needed any follow up pain meds once the Novocaine wore off. I've read some reviews saying the office is competent but cold and impersonal. That was not my experience. It's not like the doctor and staff sat around chewing the fat and having a laugh with me but I found everyone to be warm and engaging. I saw everyone as professional and organized doing their jobs with out haste or waste. I recommend IDS.

I left my dental appointment at Full Dental completely shocked. I arrived at the office five minutes before my appointment started and was asked to complete roughly 10 pages of extremely detailed questions which took upwards of 10 - 15 minutes. I then spent the next half an hour waiting for my appointment, making the entire waiting time roughly 40 minutes. When I was finally led back to the treatment area, my x-rays were performed which seemed to be done very thoroughly. However, then came the "cleaning". My electronic toothbrush requires a more thorough cleaning than what was performed by the dental hygienist. She brushed my teeth for no more than two minutes, clearly not even addressing all of my teeth. There was no scraping or flossing (as mentioned in past reviews) which is the first time I've ever experienced this at a dentist in my 33 years. I was then seen by the doctor who instructed me to open my mouth, looked inside and then said everything looked good and sent me on my way. From cleaning to appointment, it lasted no more than 10 minutes. On my walk out, I was informed by text that I was booked for another appointment in six months, which I did not request as I will never return to this dentist. I tried calling the front desk, and they informed me after 30 seconds of speaking on the phone that there were not any appointments booked under my name. I'm not sure they could even look up the calendar that quickly. I then received the bill from my insurance and was charged for flouride application, which could not have possibly been done in that time period. Needless to say, please do not waste your annual or bi-annual appointment at this dentist if you value your dental health in any way.

Disappointed. Tried this place after several years at another clinic, and this place did not meet…read moremy expectations. I have insurance that allows me just one cleaning per year. I have never had an experience when there was zero scraping and descaling until I visited this place. They told me that it was routine to just put fluoride on for a cleaning (prophylaxis), and that anyone who descaled was doing it as a courtesy. The Dr. probably does good enough work, but he preferred to barely speak a word to me. He is more comfortable ignoring me and speaking Spanish to his staff. He told me I had a bunch of osculos, which the hygienist translated for me as cavities, and I came back and let him fill them. They seem to be good fillings but I suspect that he chose to fill some baaaarely decaying teeth for a quick easy buck. I'm at another dentist now who says that I don't have half as many cavities as Dr. Rodriguez said. The new doctor was shocked that I just had my annual prophylactic procedure because my teeth were not satisfactorily cleaned. Too bad I'm on my own with a metal scraping pick for 11 more months. I will never visit this place again, but your experience may be better!

5 Stars aren't enough. I'd give them 10! The entire staff is not only professional, but absolutely in the business of caring for and about their patients. At 51 years old, I've certainly received dental treatment from an assortment of dentists. Of course, some have been better than others. But, both Dr. Steve Phan & Dr. Kristina Pham leave miles between any good dentist that I'd seen previously. At my initial consultation, the moment I sat in the chair and met Dr. K. Pham, I felt at ease. I'm not one that is afraid of dentists or their work; but, this doctor literally made me feel as if I'd been going to her practice for years. It was determined that I needed to have periodontal treatment and the removal of an abscessed molar. Dr. K. Pham administered the periodontal work. I'm not exaggerating when I state that I had no pain or discomfort during or after the treatment. The removal of the molar was conducted by Dr. S. Phan. He too gave me the same feeling that I was welcome, and that I would be treated "gently" and with care. Today, the day after the removal of the molar, I have absolutely no pain or discomfort whatsoever! It's unbelievable. I would recommend this dental practice to everyone; especially senior citizens and families with children. No dentists can treat a patient any better than these two doctors. My thanks to the office and dental assistants, Esmeralda and Naomi. Their involvement keeps both doctors at their very BEST. Cheers to all in this dental practice. As long as I live in the Coachella Valley, I will be their patient. read more

I think both Dr. Steve Phan and Dr. Christina Phan are terrific dentists. Both are very thorough and very caring, and their in-house insurance plan makes for sensible and affordable dentistry. Both Dr. Steve and Dr. Christina are also very personable and take the time to explain everything that they are doing and listen to your needs and concerns. Their equipment is up to date and state of the art. Prior to going to Desert Dental Care, I had a horrendous experience with another .dentist I had gone to see in Palm Desert, who utilized computer generated, dental inlays instead of full porcelain crowns, and he installed everything in one day. He also had been terribly expensive. Dr. Steve explained to me why this is not an optimal way to practice dentistry and worked with me on a billing plan, so as not to inflict unnecessary financial hardship on me. The office staff is also extremely friendly and professional, and the office itself is immaculate. You couldn't find a better dental practice in the desert. read more
