My head is still spinning. I am a new patient and I called to try and get an appointment at 10:00 am today. They got me in for a 12:00 noon slot. I was literally in the chair at 12:05 being examined. At 12:15 I was told I needed a root canal. By 12:55 the root canal was finished. Totally professional with service I have never experienced before. I cracked an upper-left molar nearly a year ago while eating a bagel, and that's about how long it took to work up the courage to do something about it. I'm pretty much a weenie when it comes to going to the dentist. Dr Pham confirmed that the cracked molar had to come out, so I made another appointment and came back to see Dr Phan, who performed the extraction, bone graft, and implant. I have a followup appointment in another couple of weeks to have stitches removed, and then some time after that, I will get a crown on the implant. I was in a little pain for two days after the surgery, but it subsided after that. All of the staff here, including the dentists, are personable and friendly. I will be looking forward to returning next year to get the vacancy in my teeth filled. read more

I started to come here for my biannual teeth cleaning because the Yelp reviews were good. I confirm that these reviews are legit. My favorite part about this place is that the waiting time is short; expect to be taken care of almost immediately as you walk in; well they have only 3 dental chairs so they can only work on 3 patients at a time. Dr. Phan has a wild and crazy personality; probably little kids would like him; I think he's a maniac (not a bad thing because he works as a manager vs a dentist even though he is a registered dentist. His wife (also named Dr. Phan) does do the dental work and usually does my teeth cleaning; sometimes a dental hygienist does too. This dental place recommended me to get braces at the orthodontist next door which is run by the wife Dr. Phan's brother (Dr. Pham, similar name lol). The dental hygienists are this orthodontist are secretaries at Desert Dental Care (also lol). I love how these dentists use up-to-date technology. I remember when I was younger, the dentist use such outdated tech like molds in mouth; but now everything is done with a scanner (much more comfortable than sticking playdoh in your mouth and waiting for it to harden). read more

Dr. Kristina Pham is a true artist, a true craftsman (craftswoman). I had six upper front teeth where all the gums were receding. Dr. Pham was able to fill the receding gums with composite and completely change my smile. My teeth look beautiful and completely natural. I, also, am totally afraid of going to the dentist. I had to force myself to do this. I experienced no pain nor discomfort during this procedure due to her expertise in administering Novocain (or whatever it was she gave me.) Recently had to go in to get some teeth extracted for some orthodontic work. Dr. Pham and Dr. Phan did such an amazing job! I have such a low tolerance for pain and was really fearing the pain I was going to feel when the numbness went away, however I never did feel any pain. The entire procedure was extremely quick and painless. They provided me with some pain medication that I never even had to take because the recovery went so well. This was my first visit to DDC. I lost a small veneer filling on a front tooth and needed a repair ASAP. I was dissatisfied with recent service from my regular dentist, so I decided to give the office a try. What a great idea that was! I was able to slide into their short, holiday schedule. The receptionist, doctor and dental assistant were all great. Dr. Phan replaced the missing filling and made the tooth look better than new. i cannot say enough about this practice, from the moment you walk in the door you are treated by a caring and attentive receptionist. noemi the hygienist is awesome, her attention to detail shows the pride she shows in her work and you as a patient. dr. kristina is so sweet and calming. on my first visit she cleaned my teeth the best ever and i've been going to dentist 2x yr my entire 60+ life! i moved to la quinta 1 yr ago and was so hesitant about choosing another dentist after my horrific experience at la quinta dental grp and orthodontics. they were cold and rude from the get go. i had signed up for a first appt promo to have my teeth cleaned and they refused to do it at this appt. they repeatedly tried to push a $300 dental program on me, when i have no need as i have great teeth. they didn't want to honor the promo until i insisted and then, only begrudgingly, did they say only this time will we make an exception. run as fast as to can to the best place for you and your teeth....desert dental care!! ellen read more

I have had way too much dental work done in my lifetime. That being said, I would recommend Dr. Steve Phan as a very good dentist. He is fair, treats all like family, and has a good sense of humor. He does perfect work! The office is friendly, all his staff are wonderful. His wife is also a dentist there, very caring. Parking and location are convenient. My wife had a crown fall out, she saw this dentist, he told her he could not save her post (tooth holding the crown) due to decay and a crack and a bridge was needed. He then told her that 2 other crowns needed to be replaced due to decay beneath the crowns. He wanted to extract the tooth immediately and presented her with an estimated bill for the services to be rendered to the tune of $5,000. My wife called me with the news, I told her to come home and NOT do anything, she has routine dental exams twice yearly and her last exam showed nothing wrong. Unfortunately she left without her crown, when she got home she called the dentist to arrange picking it up, but he had left for the day. The very next office day she called first thing in the morning and of course they no longer had the crown. She saw another dentist the next day, one voted best dentist 4 times in the Palm Spring area, he took an x-ray and examined her teeth and said the post had no decay or crack, her other 2 crowns showed no decay and were just fine. Regarding Desert Dental Care, I feel this dentist is an opportunist who doesn't see anything but money and has no interest in your well being. I feel he's unethical and has no moral code of business ethic and I suggest you stay away from this dentist. read more
