The first time we tried Coaches Tavern it was during their soft open and that experience was not great. We wanted to give it another shot so we planned a second visit after they had time to settle in and it was a lot better. At this point we have gone several times when it was less busy and things have been wonderful. Good Drinks, Nice Ambience, Slow Service. We weren't planning on going here but drove past it and decided to stop by. We were not dressed for the occasion. We thought it was going to be just a sports bar but it was more than that. The ambiance felt very chic and immediately thought it was more of a date night kind of place and we were in our sweat/track suits and felt out of place. We decided to stay because it wasn't too busy but soon after seating people started trickling in. The menu had good options but there was no kids menu or options, so definitely more of a grown up place. We ordered a few of their appetizers and drinks, all of which were great! The only complaint I have is the service was slow. We sat down around 5:30pm and didn't leave until 8:30pm. We are not the type of people to just linger and talk for hours, this was normal order, eat, and get out of there and it took 3 hours due to their service being slow. The waiter, Sam, was great though, nothing against him. But I think the bar and kitchen may still be working on staffing or gauging how many team members they need for a Thursday. First off I am a big fan of Coaches Bar and Grill, however, the Tavern gives a twist on the way of Ambiance and Service. It's an upscale hang out that had me in total awe. Maddie was our server for the evening. She was top notch and on top of her game. Our table of six older ladies that had a million and one questions Maddie was very patient and knowledgeable about the things she Tavern was serving and the schedule of entertainment and highlights. We will be returning for our Saturday evening chill spot at the Tavern and Maddie will be the first request as server. This is the place to be for good ambiance and food with a server like Maddie. It's so nice to finally have another great fine dining option here in the Antelope Valley! We stopped in recently and had an amazing experience from start to finish. Our table ordered the pickle chips, fried zucchini, pretzel, bread, mac & cheese, asparagus, cheesy potatoes, tomato soup, salmon, and seabass and every single dish was absolutely delicious. You could tell everything was made fresh and with care (the pickle chips were my personal favorite - crispy, tangy, and addictive) The drinks were also amazing, we ordered the Paper Plane, and it actually comes with a little show when it's served, which made the experience even more fun. Ambience and atmosphere are excellent. Beautifully designed space, comfortable seating, and a really nice vibe overall. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food coming out of the kitchen looked good. We plan to come back for a date night. We only stopped by for a drink on the way home after dinner in the valley, and that's where the experience slipped. Cocktails run $20-$24, which is fine for a higher-end bar if the spirits and pours match the price point. Unfortunately, both whiskey cocktails I ordered were made with Evan Williams, which is a rail-level bourbon, and the drinks themselves weren't strong. The bartenders clearly craft their drinks with care, but at this price range I'd expect a better base liquor or a stronger cocktail. Overall: Great atmosphere, great staff, but the value of the cocktails doesn't match the price tag. If they upgrade their house bourbon or offer a premium pour for whiskey cocktails, this would easily be a 4-5 star spot. read more

Six family members went for my husband's birthday on 12/17/25. I had made reservations. Jason, the bartender, came over and greeted us personally. We were seated fairly promptly. The restaurant is beautiful inside! Although the decor seems a little confused if it's going for the fine dining genre or the upscale sports bar theme. There is a dress code. I personally did not feel like it was any big deal. I have heard, although not sure, that one can't wear sports jerseys to watch a game on one of their many tv's. Although there are a lot of framed jerseys hanging on the walls everywhere. There's also a two hour max for seating time. How would one watch an entire game? Our waitress was very nice but she seemed overwhelmed and we felt under attended. We ordered drinks. But they took a long time to come. Again, I'm thinking this was due to our server, as she seemed to be the only server there. They were not busy at all, as we went early. When we were leaving, more people were coming in. I wanted to wish them luck getting service. My group of six ordered jalapeño poppers. There were five poppers, so I passed on trying one. But, everyone told me they were good. Four of us ordered sea bass. One ordered rib eye. Unfortunately I don't remember what the sixth person ordered. The sea bass was very good. But, all the green on the plate was a little overwhelming and did nothing to make the sea bass more appealing. It perhaps did the opposite. The sea bass was small and we all agreed not worth $46 à la carte. The rib was just okay, according to my husband, who ordered it. Just okay is not a good reply for a $69 rib eye à la carte. I understand that when you eat at an upscale restaurant, it's not unusual to have to order your sides separately. I have no problem with that. But when you have to order salt, pepper and butter to try and give your sides some flavor, there's a problem. By the way, those condiments took us forever to get. Our server had completely disappeared for quite a while at this point. The bus boy actually brought them to us. My mashed potatoes were cold by then. Fortunately, Jason, the bartender came to check on us. We were appreciative of that because we did want to order a second round of drinks. The drinks were very good, but small and expensive. I'm sure this is the standard set forth by the proprietors of Coaches. My husband raved about the old fashioned Jason made. I asked for a complimentary dessert for my husband's birthday. They don't do that. You have to order one off of their menu. Can you say Cha-ching....... I can't say I won't try this place again. But, I would probably make sure Jason was there bartending, sit at the bar and definitely not order something that needed ketchup. I hear they charge you $3 extra for that too. This is there soft opening, so I understand there will be growing pains. But this review was completely self inflicted. The exterior and interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and the service was overall pretty decent. The issue didn't surface until we received our bill. Briefly, a friend asked if I'd like to join them in supporting this new restaurant to the High Desert. I invited one other friend and he and I sat at one table, while our friend, his wife, and young daughter sat at an adjacent table in the patio. That's two adults at one table and two adults and one child at another. When our bill came they charged a 20.00% fee of $11:00 for a large party! What the...Even if we all sat together the would be four adults and one child. Yikes, that's considered a LARGE party??? You've got to be kidding me. I ordered sliders, an order of fries and one old fashion. My bill came to $72.19. I repeat, I ordered an appetizer, an adult beverage, and a side order of fries. Oh, I forgot, they don't bring you a bottle of ketchup, they bring you a tiny cup. Not realizing at this point that we're about to get hosed, I asked for more Ketchup. The waitress bought another tiny cup of Ketchup, which, wait for it, cost $3.00. Now if the waitress would have disclosed this information I would have declined the request. If you're independently wealthy and don't mind paying $20.00 for an Old Fashion, $14.00 for fries, $11:00 for a total of four adults and one child to sit near each other by all means. Let's review: $20.00 for an old Fashion, $18.00 for the Sliders, which were sorely lacking, $14.00 for a side of Fries, 1 sauce, aka Ketchup, $3.00 and an $11:00 "Large Party" fee!! Don't believe, I wouldn't either, check it out! See attached. My buddy ordered a diet Pepsi, an Old Fashion, and a pretzel from the appetizer section. Wai t for it, his was over $55.00. I was really excited to see such a beautiful restaurant out here! Herringbone floors is the first thing you see as you walk in and a refined open-concept bar that anchors the dining room. The staff was great, the hosts greeted us with a smile as we walked in and our server Lauren is a star . I would come back just to see Lauren, she was charismatic, playful, & knowledgeable about the menu. We tried several items on the menu and the best were the seabass, the burger, & the Expresso martini. The food was unfortunately really lacking. I've tried many of the best restaurants in Beverly Hills & West Hollywood and this is what I would do to bring this restaurant up to a comparable level. First of the drinks are very pricey, if the cost is $24 for an Old Fashioned it needs to justify the price. I would invest in a clear ice cube maker and custom stamp the cube to make it unique and elevated. There is too much fried food for the appetizers (looks like a dive-bar menu). Would benefit from something lighter & protein based like Hamachi . We ordered ordered the only unfried item which was the Ribeyes Chicharonnes and it wasn't tasty. Was overcooked & chewy (did not taste like ribeye). The Mac & Cheese was terrible. It tasted like they used Velveeta and I would not expect that at a high-end restaurant. I love a good Ceasar salad with homemade achovie & Parmesan dressing but they just dumped cheap bottled Ceasar dressing on some lettuce and that is unacceptable, pushed it away after one bite. The wings were basic like something you would get at Wingstop. Yardhouse's wings are levels above. The Cauliflower bites were not fully cooked and still raw in the middle so we didn't even want to finish them. The butter cake was okay, but it's needs to be bigger and have some fresh whip cream or ice cream with it. That's criminal to serve it dry like that. I love the ambiance here and the staff is great so please take these suggestions seriously because this place will not last long if they don't do a serious revamp on the menu soon. read more

The place looks amazing, and I really wanted to love it! I was planning to give it another try before reviewing, but I figured early feedback might help them fix things sooner. I understand it was their first weekend, but they definitely need A LOT more staff. Our food and drinks took quite a while to arrive, and our waitress (who was very sweet) kept apologizing, saying the bar was backed up. The food was okay. We ordered another round of drinks but ended up canceling after waiting WAY too long (beer serving shouldn't take long). When the bill came, there were a few extra charges, including one for a small portion of A.1. sauce and some items that weren't ours. It's a beautiful spot with a lot of potential, but they really need to work on staffing and organization. I hope they get it sorted out soon because the atmosphere is great! read more

Food: we did not order entrees but rather just appetizers. Boneless wings were well cooked and the Korean Thai flavor was amazing. Chicken Cesar salad was delicious and the grilled chicken had wonderful flavor. Ambiance: we loved the classy dark look of the interior and it gave Ventura Blvd vibes. It's definitely the most upscale looking establishment in the AV and we need more like it. The live music was a good addition to our evening because the performer was actually talented and the music wasn't blasting too loud. Service: the service is was what stood out the most for us. Our main bartender was Ryall, however, we were helped by three others throughout the night which made us feel well taken care of. In addition, Ryall makes a marvelous Tequila Old Fashion and he was very personable by engaging with us throughout the night. I highly recommend anyone ask for him to bartend! Last but not least, the PRICE. Look if you want to be cheap and pay $3 for a beer, $10 for food while on a date and not get laid, go to Applebees. Every staff member I've interacted with is friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure you have an amazing time. The food is absolutely outstanding. Their steaks are cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. And the drinks? Incredible. The bartenders really know what they're doing! Went into this establishment to support some local talent on a Saturday evening. Ordered a chicken sandwich , fries and drink which cost 42.10. The burger overcooked and the parmesan fries were not even cooked completely. Worst meal I have ever ate let alone the cost. Waitress did not advise that all this was separate charges. I would have never agreed to pay 42 dollar for chicken, fries and a drink. The part that really upsets me was we walked in front with the performing artist, and a white waitress chased me out. She proceeded to ask if we were leaving and needed to pay the bill. Clearly I wasn't leaving as my wife was sitting in the vip area. A manger called me and they are ok with employees chasing their patrons and disrespecting them in front of a crowd of people. After embarrassing me, I chose to Walk in and paid the bill onsite with no tip. The waitress stated 28.12 and I provided no tip. A manger called and stated that the correct amount was 42.10 which is absolutely egregious to charge Very unprofessional and unfortunate experience, almost wondering if I got chased by a white waitress for being Mexican.
