I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Coast Dental. Five weeks ago, I went in for an exam and was told they would submit my treatment plan to insurance for pre-authorization. As of today, my insurance company still hasn't received anything. I have tried multiple times to contact the office, but no one answers. Calls go to a call center, and even they can't reach the office. This lack of communication and follow-through has delayed important dental treatment I urgently need. At this point, I've lost confidence in this office and will likely be taking my dental care elsewhere. I expected better communication and a much higher level of professionalism. I paid Coast Dental - Deltona, FL $702 more than I actually owed, and more than 1 1/2 year later they still refuse to return a single dollar. Office Manager Crystal Perez gave only vague, circular, non-answers. It was almost as if she was offended that I discovered that I was overcharged. I had to take my complaint to the BBB and communicated with an unknown person representing Coast Dental and when I asked--five times--for an explanation of the overcharge. Each request was met without an answer and ignored! The office also mismanaged my insurance claim for a crown: twice they assured me it had been submitted, but I ultimately had to file the paperwork myself. The "completed" claim form that was emailed to me 10 months later listed just one procedure code; a later email, December 11, 2024, tacked on two more. When I pursued the refund, Crystal Perez, again, said Corporate had to approve it, while Corporate told me the local office was responsible. Meanwhile, I'm still receiving calls and texts urging me to schedule another appointment. Bottom line: Coast Dental Deltona, FL shows poor communication; zero accountability and I can only NOT recommend them in the strongest terms! Requested several times to have my infected tooth pulled and all they kept doing was bringing me back doing x-rays and not pulling my tooth. I have been in excruciating pain. My ears hurt headaches. My blood pressure is gone up. I've been nauseous this past weekend and all they wanted me to do is have a root canal when I specifically requested to have the tooth polled before it got infected. they said it needed a root canal and now they tell me that it has too long and have to have surgery to have it removed because it's been too long and they can't pull it now. Months have gone by because they been pushing me along billing the insurance company and not doing what I requested from day one. DO NOT GO WITH THIS DENTAL COMPANY.! read more

Rude woman at the front desk. I walk in to get my appointment and they claim to have called me saying they need to re schedule (the day before) because they double booked me...although I have zero records of it on my phone. No phone calls, no messages, no voicemails. When I tell them I have no records of it the woman looks at me like im the one who's at fault and then says well we have it documented here completely dismissing my view and reality. Word of advice- if you want new patients then don't double book new clients and don't act like your customer is wrong when they show you proof they have received no contact from you. I don't like leaving negative reviews because I feel like it's over done in the United States: but only do when I feel like service is rude to this degree. If you don't want to be interacting with people then don't be the face of a front desk. It's not a good look for your company and absolutely doesn't want to encourage me to book with you or trust your ability in doing something as simple as scheduling an appointment. Total con artists. I specifically told them all year that I was disabled and on a fixed income, and to be sure to never to go over my allotted benefits for the year. During my last visit they did treatments without my consent that sent me over $400 my insurance max. Nobody in the company will help me. They also kicked me out of my 2nd to last appt when they all of a sudden decided to make me fill out a medical questionnaire to get signed by my Neurologist. I am adding to the holy litany of horrible reviews for this rudderless ship masquerading as a dental care office. I made my first appointment several weeks ago, and then, a full week before my appointment, I called because I had to reschedule. I was on the phone with scheduling for a full 15 minutes attempting to reschedule the appointment, and the flustered, ill-equipped woman offered me an appointment, which I accepted three different times before putting me on hold and coming back to tell me she couldn't actually give me the appointment. At this point, I became frustrated and just asked for the next afternoon appointment they had, and then I was given it. So, tip number one: become frustrated and aggressive or you can't have an appointment. I showed up to said appointment yesterday at 2:55 for a 3:10 appointment. The exasperated receptionist told me everything had gone wrong, and they hadn't even seen their 2:00 pm, so they couldn't see me. Deductive reasoning leads me to believe they knew this at 2:00 pm and could have called me instead of letting me drive there. My appointment was rescheduled for the same time today. I showed up and announced myself, and the rude, sub-literate woman who met me rolled her eyes, sighed, and said, "I don't got a doctor." To which I shrugged. What the hell does that mean? And then, when the life returned to her eyes, she said, "Oh, new patient?" She then proceeded to shout to another employee about their lunch break while randomly punching keys on the computer before informing me that the paperwork I definitely filled out and submitted online had been verified when the appointment was confirmed wasn't in the system. She then hastily handed me a paper version, which I was supposed to fill out again. I sat down and began to fill it out, and the other woman in the waiting room informed me that she was waiting for an appointment after they had canceled on her three times in a row, and I decided to walk out. I did so without notifying the office in an effort to show them the same amount of respect they showed me and seem to show all of their patients. I would recommend a back-alley appendectomy before I recommend this office. It does not matter if these things don't happen "that often." This is a medical facility. The doctors, hygienists, and reception staff work for us, not the other way around. And in an era when dental offices are mostly mad cash grabs, customer service is not a luxury. Always a long wait time. Everytime I go in there and I am not the only one complaining . All you hear is giggling and laughter from the girls that work there in back bc they are not doing any work. And that is EVERYTIME I've been in there. I am switching insurance companies just to avoid having to go back there. I and other patients have had to call in to work multiple times bc they keeping rescheduling us to come back and do nothing all over again. It's ridiculous. I have been to the location in Deltona previously, so I am not a new patient. The website lists their hours on Friday as 8am-5pm. I called today at 8:20 am to request an appointment for today as one of my teeth cracked last night and it is very painful. The phone was answered by a call center by an operator who was barely understandable. Her accent was so heavy as to make her unintelligible. I did manage to learn that there were no appointments available today or Monday and that the office does not open until 9:30 am. I called another dentist who actually answers the phone and for whom the office hours are more than a suggestion. read more

It's been awhile since I've been here, but I doubt much has changed. They're OK. The hygenist was really nice. The main doctor was really nice, but she got pregnant and never came back. She was Indian, along with her replacement. I'm fine with that, but some can find it hard to understand, etc. Just being thorough for those people. They always tried to upsell me on everything. It seemed like it was all they cared about. My insurance never covered what I got, but I was OK with that when I got my tooth-colored fillings instead of metal - I was happy to get those out from when I was younger. But there are two HORRIBLE problems that irk me. One, I got an unnecessary crown. No root canal was done, and the insurance company was right to deny the claim. So I had to pay like $300 for it. Unnecessary dental work where you have to pay for it = SUCKS! Especially since back then I was in college and not making a lot of money at all. But the really horrible thing is that I got my girlfriend on my insurance, she went in and was told that she had a few cavities. It was toward the end of the year when my insurance was about to expire, and they couldn't fit her in to get all of them. So she was left with... one or two, I think. Well, apparently, THEY DIDN'T EXIST! How do I know? A few years later, assumingly with these things rotting away at her teeth, I was able to get her back on my new insurance at my new job, and took her to another dentist. X-rays show they weren't there. I'm tempted to go in, get her records and get an "ambulance chasing" lawyer to take care of this. Last I checked, they don't disappear! Basically, stay away. I didn't have friends to ask where I should go for my dental care, as I was new in the area, and literally homeless on my first visit (my lease ended earlier than expected and I was trying to close on a house). My wife had a filling fall out and went there for a repair. We are new to the area and it was the closest to us. She called and they said they can fix it right there. Well it ended up being an x-ray and cleaning which we paid for out of pocket for the x-ray because the dentist was not available, so we made an appointment for a month later. The next visit after they cleaned her teeth again they told her the dentist was not available and we had to pay full price for the cleaning. I would never go to them again. read more

I woke up this morning to floss and my front tooth which is a partial fake completely broke off. I'm newly back to Florida- I was previously in San Francisco and hadn't gotten a new dentist since moving back to Florida, so finding someone to get me in was going to be a task. After making a least a dozen calls where the receptionist could use a little coaching around speaking with a smile, Lindsey at Coastal Dental listened to my story ( I work in the beauty industry and can't go a day looking like a jackolantern). She said let me talk to the doctor, came back and asked when I could be there. I jumped in the car! Dr. Latulippe saw me as well as her technician Tracy. My partial was so old I need a crown and she didn't try to up sell me or anything but asked about my discoloration I've had since I was little and recommended considering getting crowns for both if it was in my budget. I've been wanting to do that for a while so I was on the same page as the doctor. My big concern was walking out today with some sort of fix so I could work this week. They asked if I could come back at noon (it was 11) to get my crowns fitted and a temporary in. I was thrilled! The dozen other people I spoke to said it would take a day of two to get in and that they wouldn't be able to fit me something temporary. And why come back at noon? Because Dr. Latulippe and Tracy worked through their lunch to fit me in and make sure I could get a solution today. Seriously?! That's amazing service. Accomodating. Friendly. Not pushy at all. I ended up scheduling myself and my husband to comeback in January for a routine cleaning. Highly recommend. I have temporary crowns fitted. I can confidently go to work until the permanent come in and I'm happy to have found my new permanent dentist. read more

I went to Coast Dental in Deltona on Providence Blvd suite B on January 23rd, 2018 to have an tooth extracted, This place didn't put me on any antibiotics before extracting my tooth, and even after my tooth was extracted they didn't even bother to put me on antibiotics, one week went by I couldn't even open my mouth and the back of my throat hurt so bad with redness and jaw popping, my head hurt and neck was sore, I felt like infection was setting in after my heart started beating funny, so I had some old antibiotics from my house and immediately started taking them, then I phone the coast dental and explain to them what was going on, they advise me to come in to take a look, this place still didn't put me on anything, and not only that I was over charge $50.00 which I waited for four months back and forth trying to get my refund back and to this day still waiting, my insurance even told them everything was covered, I owe $0 dollars, now I maybe taking this dentist office to court, just be sure if you use this company do a full check because I almost died I believe. BEWARE, biggest SCAM and RIP-OFF. Went in after insurance company said they were in their approved locations. First visit had a filling leaking, Coast Dental worked on the filling and even charged me extra money to insure the filling would stay. Second visit was for a cleaning, was told they would not do my insured cleaning unless I paid for a deep cleaning, I refused and went to walk out before they wanted to schedule me for my cleaning later in the week, guess they never intended to do my cleaning and just get my money. After having so many red flags, I choose to find a different dentist do my cleaning. At new dentist was informed that the same tooth Coast Dental worked on 2 months prior was still leaking. 3 months after taking my X-rays to new dentist, I received a bill from Coast Dental saying my insurance didn't cover my visit. So I called my insurance company and was told they covered that bill months ago. Then I called Coast Dental to see what was going on, lady told me they sent 5 notices to insurance company for payment and bill was to let me know they didn't cover it but MAGICALLY they just received payment this morning. The Coast Dental office here in Deltona Florida is one of the BEST! dental offices I have ever been too. They are very professional, courteous, polite, and anything you could ever wish for at a dental office. Dr. Cruz and his assistant Ketie are very thorough. They are the BEST! team I ever had in my dental experience, and I'm talking about many years of experience ( I'm 66 Yrs. old ) During your initial examination Dr. Cruz examines your entire mouth and neck glands. He gave me an examination like I never had! A GREAT DENTIST INDEED!! HANDS DOWN!! Dr. Cruz and his assistant Ketie are very charismatic, concerned, gentle, and understanding and make you feel real comfortable. They as a team, will do their sincerest and utmost for you and your dental needs. A WONDERFUL DENTIST AND ASSISTANT FOR SURE!! there has never been a dental hygienist like THU-HA ( Pronounced TOO-HA ) in my entire years of having dental work. I have been a patient of theirs for years and suddenly parents can't go back with their children, family members can't be scheduled on the same day, cleanings can't be scheduled on the same day as exams, yearly x-rays are only scheduled in the middle of the day, etc. HOW CAN THIS OFFICE EXPECT ANYONE TO ATTEND SCHOOL OR HOLD A FULLTIME JOB IF NOTHING ROUTINE CAN BE DONE ON THE SAME DAY?! I've had issues with dentist's lying to me and overcharging me. I went in because I had a tooth that needed to be fixed before it came to needing a root canal. I went to my appt and was given the cost of everything I needed. I agreed to the amount and made the appt to come back. When I came back and started the treatment and was checking out they came back with an amount of $50 more. I said no that's not what I agreed to and showed them the paper with the amount. They accepted the original amount and gave me a receipt showing I still owed the additional amount. When I went in to complete the work and check out they asked for the rest of the payment and I again told them that it wasn't what was agreed upon. Tammie the receptionist started explaining that it was a portion that wasn't covered by insurance. Now they had already contacted my insurance and gotten the amount they would pay. I told them I would not pay that because it wasn't agreed upon. Now they're trying to get me to come back for a cleaning and saying it would cost me $67. My insurance covers cleaning 100% twice a year. As I looked at the break down of the cost they had these little hidden charges to get more money out of me.
