Disappointed, I went in, was asked by nice receptionist if I could be helped. I advised I just needed to sit down 5 minutes to catch my breath, one other client was in the rather dingy waiting room. Within 3 to 4 minutes a male in scrubs appeared, and said I would have to leave, since I was not a patient. I asked if he was the dentist - he said, 'no, I am the dentist's assistant.' He proceeded to stare me down. I responded that I was in the office to determine if I was made to feel welcome, to determine general vibes of the office, and if my family wanted to select it as our dental care provider. I recently had an unsatisfactory experience at this dental office, which was recommended by my insurance company. The staff's unprofessional behavior and attempt to deceive me left a negative impression. I have given this business a 1-star rating. The office's lack of transparency regarding insurance coverage and costs resulted in unexpected charges. Despite having $4,500 in coverage through Medicare and Medicaid, I was asked to pay $60 for procedures that were not covered. The office's practice of upselling unnecessary procedures is concerning, and the billing process was problematic. The front desk staff's behavior was particularly poor, and I felt gaslighted regarding the authorization process. First appointment, waited over an hour with no contact from office staff, not rude, but noticeably unfriendly staff. Got a call had to leave, but seriously relieved not to have to see this place again. First appointment is like a first date, setting tone for future interactions. Ive seen this office butcher my wife dentures. I've seen them bill her insurance for things that were never done. She has been back on several occasions and all they try and get her to do is buy a new pair never once did they offer the replace the dentures they made my wife that are 2 sizes to big and I've seen her gums bleed after wearing them. They would bleed because they had people in their office office touching her dentures when they clearly aren't qualified to do so. The worst part is they have never reached back out to see how they could correct this issue that they caused. read more

unfortunately to post I had to leave a star I had a deeply disappointing and distressing experience with this dental office. I had all my teeth extracted here and was given dentures that never fit properly. After enduring significant pain, I returned and it was discovered a bone fragment had been left behind--something that should have been addressed during the initial extraction. Even after removal, the dentures remained far too large and unwearable. Despite this being due to poor fit and improper sizing, the office refused to remake or adjust them without charging me for an entirely new set. On top of that, they billed my insurance for a $204 panoramic X-ray that was never performed and charged $167 for a "comprehensive exam" where all they did was ask me why I didn't like the dentures. This is unacceptable. Patients deserve competent care, honest billing, and support when something goes wrong--not blame and extra fees. I strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to Fleming Island and have new dental insurance. Coast Dental accepts that insurance. I didn't take the time to look up their reviews on Yelp (I should have). I booked an appt for initial visit and routine cleaning. Bear in mind I get my teeth cleaned every 4 months and have no history of periodontal disease. The office was dingy and old. The staff was not very friendly. They took a ton of xrays. Finally saw the hygienist who began by checking for pockets (where they press a pointed instrument to see how deep it goes into your gums). He kept pressing much harder than is typical or necessary and I could tell by the numbers he called out that the "pockets" were seeming way worse than was typical for me (4's and 5's instead of 1's and 2's). Then, to my astonishment, a virtual dentist came onto a screen in front of me. I had not been told this would be a tele-visit with a dentist. He proceeded to tell me I had "advanced periodontal disease with significant infection and bone loss." Baloney. I have been routinely seen by excellent dentists my whole life (never missed a visit), practice excellent home care (brushing, flossing, fluoride treatments) and not one of my previous dentists ever said anything about periodontal disease or bone loss. I very much doubt this could have happened in the few months since my last visit to the dentist before I moved here. They would NOT do a cleaning unless I signed up for expensive periodontal treatments. I got out of there as fast as I could. When I got home, I read up on them and saw that this is a pattern with Coast Dental. They are known for trying to get patients to do expensive, unnecessary treatments. Also they are NOT approved by the Better Business Bureau. Do not waste your time or money with these people. I will be reporting them to my health insurance and the BBB. read more

I am furious as I have just walked out! Had a 9:30 appointment. Arrived and have been the only person in the lobby. As time kept passing I asked twice if it would be much longer. At 10:15 a woman walks in... 5 minutes later they take her back. I said "was my appointment NOT for 9:30?" She checks and says yes. I said "Ive been sitting here for almost an entire hour waiting to be taken back. The other lady came and was taken back immediately!" She once again was like "yes Mam I'll see what's going on". I said don't bother! I'm out. Why didn't she check before an hour had gone by? And the times she claimed to have checked... what was the deal? So pissed off! This Dental office took my partials back because I couldn't wear them, I was told I would get a refund in 6 to 8 weeks my insurance paid them their portion on 8/26/2024 here 62 days still no refund they are liars and scammers. Dr. Eric Rosenstock, Orange Park General Dentist. As a new patient who schedule a visit in 7 days advance and provide all necessary paperwork very disappointed to receive a call at 4:44pm to cancel Tuesday & Wednesday. I missed the call because no message was left, I called the missed number an call service tells me the appointment was canceled and I can reschedule for Wednesday. Next day appointment available at 8:50am I accept an confirm it's solid. Receive a call (Tuesday) next day 12:22 to confirm appt. for next day (Wednesday) 8:46 pm office manager calls to cancel, I'm frustrated. She's rude, the tone lacked empathy, professionalism and tack. This was unacceptable and business relationshi has been savaged. When cancellation is happening it's courtesy to offer option, instead I was told call another office an reschedule because the doc has emergency, and she's doing me a favor calling the night before. How do you have emergency at 8:46pm for 8:50am appt - make it make sense. I wouldn't recommend Dr Rosenstock or the office for any service. I wouldn't want a dentist who can't commit to his schedule. Terrible dental office from the start. Dusty and dirty all around. Won't do anything to help with a cracked filling and I've had to take antibiotics for over a month due to the infection because they don't want to help. It's either spend thousands out of pocket for a crown or send me somewhere else for an extraction. Then come to find out as soon as I'm about to get my extraction from the surgeon in another office they've decided to cancel my insurance at this office so the upcoming appointment I have scheduled to check my extraction site is no longer covered. Only one star because I can't give less that I know of. I hate Coast Dental Fleming Island. And I hate Dr Patricia Clark. I went to them to get dentures. Big mistake! I hate the dentures I got they are too big and the teeth are too long. I look like I have horse teeth. I had to send them back four times and when they tried them on me the 5th time I was too chicken shit to send them back again because of the way Dr Clark acted when I sent them back the fourth time by bitching and saying that she wouldn't send them back to the lab again. She only sent them back because her assistant went and had to talk with her about it and convinced her to do so. When I brought that up to her today when I was over there to try and get something done she said she didn't even remember that because she has so many patients. I told her it was because she has selective memory but that I will always remember it. Do not go there if you have any sense. Believe me cheaper is not better. If you want natural looking teeth this is not the place to go. You can clearly see that the teeth are bigger on one side of the denture than the other but Patricia Clark said she couldn't see it. Stay away from this practice. I have been trying for weeks to get a refund on an overpayment I made. I always paid when due and they never had to wait. Left 15 messages with corporate office who will not return calls. Michael, the office manager will do NOTHING to help. This is really sad, because eventhough I did have some difficulties, Dr. Adugna was a very caring and compassionate dentist, along with his assistant Michael (not the office manager). Coast Dental as a corporation is totally a rip off. Stay away. It is too bad this dentist does not have his own practice because the corporation Coast Dental could easily ruin his reputation. Broke a front tooth was seen by Dr Adugna on 01/09/17 he gave me many options of repairs and costs. office was able to get me back in on 1/11/17. dr Adugna and the staff were more than accommodating made me feel like family. They went over and above to basically rebuild the front of my mouth due to very old and dated dental work from my childhood. Even though I need to return for the permanent teeth I left there with the best looking temporary teeth I ever seen. Dr Adugna returned my smile and came in under the original quote and thousands less then if I went elsewhere as I am on a fixed income and he understood that. Dr Adugna is patient and loyal to his work and your appearance. Dr Adugna did not try to sell me or influence in anything I did not need or require for the repair. Highly recommend this particular Dentist. All I can say is talk to him he is down to earth A+1 read more

This dentist has given me way too many problems, I don't even know where to begin. I chipped my front tooth and I went in for my first appointment. Not a friendly face in the building. And the dentist and dental assistant were rude and very rough. They did a very bad job at making and cementing my crown. (They wouldn't numb me after I asked them to, and I was in lots of pain). The crown came off and I scheduled an appointment to have it put back on. I drove all the way there (35 minutes from my house) and as soon as I got there, they called and cancelled on me. I scheduled again and they cancelled on me three different times. They told me to wait. They didn't put my crown back on UNTIL I told them I HAD to come in because they let my tooth get infected, because they wouldn't do their job correctly. Because it took so long to finally get an appointment, the infection killed the root and nerve in my tooth and they're saying they have to do a root canal. They were doing tests on me and told me they were going to numb me. They didn't. And as they were doing tests, they seemed alarmed. I was also alarmed when I looked and saw blood oozing all over his gloves as he quickly tried to get rid of whatever it was he had just done. I had an awful and very frightening experience. I'm never going back. And I suggest the same to you. I also told my insurance company who sent me here. They were very shocked and upset at the experience I've had and they're currently in the process of reporting this dentist. read more
