I have found the staff to be very personable and caring. I have had several surgeries with Dr Kucznia and was very satisfied in how they were performed and their results. Very poor customer service, and the billing department is completely unresponsive. They gave me a improperly filled out form to send a claim to my secondary dental insurance company, resulting in the payment being sent to them instead of to me. Insurance company verified they received the payment. Modern Periodontics denies they received it. If you're looking for a dentist that values and cares about their customers, Modern Periodontics is not it. read more

In preliminary stage of getting some implants. Initial surgery to remove a couple of teeth and do a sinus lift went very well. The aftercare has also gone well and I have received exceptional care by the team at Modern Periodontics. We're waiting now for the area to heal properly before doing the implants. Good luck with the billing department! They never call you back! They billed me $400 and I paid it but they never told me my insurance stopped being in their network! That is called surprise billing and it is illegal. When I found out they said my insurance company would eventually let me know and they decided not to bother calling any of their patients to let them know. read more

After the surgery, I was told to eat only soft food and liquids until follow up appointment in one week. When I showed up for the follow up appointment a week later the business was closed! I kept calling the number but all I got was a voicemail. I had cancelled work to make this appointment and it was a 20 mile drive each way. I was very frustrated and waited in the parking lot for an hour. Nobody showed up, and nobody from the office bothered to call me. When I called the next day I asked what happened and they offered some weak excuses about computer not working properly. No apology, as a matter of fact, they were rather rude about it. When I pointed out they charge patients 100.00 for not showing up for appointments, I asked if they were going to credit me for that amount for time lost from work and day wasted driving to appointment and waiting in parking lot. Her response was to email another bill for 120.00, stating that they made an error on invoice when I paid in full before surgery. I am sure this was passive aggressive attempt to show how they felt about being held accountable for their unprofessionalism and incompetence. They never offered another follow up, never called me back as promised, never offered an apology. Shockingly bad service and customer relations to charge over 3000 dollars for a medical procedure and have no follow up with the patient. I am very disappointed and perturbed and now I will have to find another periodontist to find out if procedure was even done correctly. I can not recommend@! read more

all I can say is make sure you get everything in writing with modern paradontics! I had surgery on my left canine implant. the Dentist office said they do take my ins. my insurance co also said m. p. is covered under them also. I paid $2190 for surgery, with idea my ins. would cover some of the bill. my insurance co sent their portion, but modern paradontics said that iam not in network. hard to get ahold of them,, my ins co can't get ahold of them either, they don't return calls ,they have three offices, and Its hard to get someone. those that I do get ahold of don't know how to really handle my questions. my ins co. said since they can't get ahold of and don't get returned calls back from m.p., they will work with me, and refund a small amount of money back to me Instead. I left three messages for supervisor to call me back and he never did. read more

Dr. Storch is an excellent periodontist. I trust him fully. Only four stars because I did wait over 45 minutes for his service. I was okay with that, but some would have a problem with that. They did check on me often and apologize. He think he may be pulled aside to help others because he is so knowledgable. read more

I had work done here. The staff was polite and professional. My experience was as I expected. I was however surprised to find out later that although Modern Periodontics is in net work for my insurance the doctor I saw was not. Therefore my claim was processed as out of network. So a word of caution make sure the dentist that you see is in network, if that is important to you. It definitely would have impacted my decision of where I would have gone. So just asked very specific questions when you call, only if that is important to you. read more

This was my first cleaning at Modern Periodontics so I was little bit nervous not knowing what to expect. My hygienist, Breze, immediately put me at ease. She was gentle and thorough and answered all of my questions. I appreciated Breze getting to know me as a patient. She did a great job! Please beware if you opt to receive services with Modern Periodontics (Baymeadow location). I echo the posts made by Shirley C. and Mark B. on this site as well as James, Catherine and Jeremiah on the Google site. Heck, there's even posts on the Chamber review site speaking to the same issue. There are unethical practices that are being followed. They told me one price and requested payment before receipt of services. I made payment. When I arrived at the appointment the coordinator had altered the treatment plan that was supposed to show a detailed breakdown of responsibility between my insurance and me. The updated plan showed a 100% of the responsibility attached to me. I was told that I would be responsible for coordinating with my insurance. Please keep in mind the original document showed a 50/50 split. I refused to sign it and called my insurance onsite. My insurance confirmed that the service was covered. I knew that I'd never be returning to this poorly ran operation for services. I requested my records after the service and it took 2 months and 4 calls, contacting 3 offices to get my record and then as you've probably guessed they stated that my insurance didn't pay the normal rate, and they'd like it from me. I contacted the insurance and learned that there is a negotiated rate that Modern Periodontics agreed to accept; however, unlike the more patient friendly and ethical groups who are transparent with their billing, this practice is working to bill every possible charge to the patient without telling them upfront. The sad part about this situation is when they tried the switcheroo with the plan and I told them that I could cancel the appointment before receiving any service, I was then told that the situation had been addressed. My worst mistake was ever making an appointment, and my second was sitting down in the chair. This has been the worst experience ever and I pray that no one else gets caught up in this nasty web of deceit. read more

I was waiting on the room for my check up appt and saw a patience walked in and seems very nervous about his surgery for his implants. I knew that because he had a driver. I had mine done about two years ago and it was so well done. I have no pain. My sensitivity has disappeared. I have been eating apples again and there has been no infections or problems with my implants. I so wanted to tell the patience that this office from the front desk to the orthodontist are simple the best at what they do. But I didn't interfered. My cleaning check up was again another great experienced. The knowledge given are always appreciated from my hygienist. It's why they always get my highest score. read more

I had 4 quad gum surgery on Tuesday Sept 28th at 7:30 am, just hours after Hurricane ION landed in Florida. After a 3 hour procedure was finished at 10:30 am I returned home and had no pain or issues. I have spent thousands of dollars with this business. Early this year I moved. I never received an e-mail or phone call that I had $20.00 outstanding, but they sent my account to collections - without ever communicating with me. I don't doubt that they mailed something to me, but nobody can be expected to remember every business they have dealings with when they move. You'd think they would have the courtesy to at least have a conversation with someone who spent thousands with them before turning them over to collections over $20.00. I've been going to Modern Periodontist for the last two years and am very impressed by the entire staff starting with the front desk, dental hygienists, assistants and doctors. This last year I've been under the care of Dr. Bianco who is exceptional. If your having a procedure, he will explain what steps will be taken.
