I was a new patient, and went on for cleaning only. I have a back partial. The Dental assistant gave me a paper towel to hold my partial. In the 50 years I've been to a Dentist this has never happened. I had a few teeth missing, she proceeded to tell the other lady in room , loudly about my missing teeth several times. The actual Dentist was virtual and was very nice. She then came back and said computers were down to check how much my insurance would pay. It had been three + yrs since I had seen a dentist. I was seen in a timely manner. X-rays and an exam were performed. A treatment plan was developed. The staff is helpful, and knowledgeable. I would put zero stars if I could. My fiancé is in desperate need of dental work, we got him dental insurance and found coast dental takes his insurance. He works weekdays I'm a SAHM so I called and made his appointment. Mind you you can't get ahold of the people on site of the dentist office. You're redirected to an appointment hotline Whatever The appointment is set for February 27th I confirmed the appointment a week before the date. Then 5 days before appointment I get a text saying it's cancelled and to call the office number to reschedule. Inconvenient because we've waited a month but whatever. I call, no answer, get transferred to schedule hotline. Make another appointment and the soonest is March 28th. I'm like wow okay that's two months of waiting now but it's scheduled and we're good. Fiancé takes the day off from work to be able to make the appointment and it's confirmed by text again a week in advance. So I get a text yesterday, (two days before appointment) that it's cancelled again and to call the office to reschedule. I'm livid. Fiancé really needs work done, has two exposed nerves and is in pain often and he could have been seen already somewhere else! Don't waste your time at that place. I made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. I sat for over a half hour for my first visit. The AC kicked on and blew stuff on me. Then their internet went down so they said they had to reschedule me. My appointment was about a week later. I called the day before to make sure I had an appointment. She told me she had to reschedule for a month later and that she couldn't guarantee anything major like teeth cleaning. I don't think cleaning is major and I won't waste any more time on this place. read more

I will be waiting for my moms EOB and and then we will see what my next steps are with this unprofessional "dental office"! Your team should be very careful on how they treat people when they don't know who the patient knows and/or who they're related to. Now...Let's start with this joke of a treatment plan I'm looking at with "dummy codes" galore on an in-network PPO patient just so you can UPCHARGE your billing. As well as, you better have honored that signed treatment plan price on the OCS that you were well aware is NOT a covered service when you provided a price in writing, but then felt the need to charge more and state a different price verbally AFTER it was completed and after my mom was not going to be returning to your practice... AND I KNOW I'm not seeing a pano billed separate under a dummy code because YOU KNOW it's gonna be downgraded TOTAL to an fmx so you're COMMITTING INSURANCE FRAUD, and we won't even get into all these OTHER dummy codes, excluding the rinse, that are LEGALLY REQUIRED to be on an EOB with their CDT code even if it is "NOT A COVERED" benefit when you are an IN-Network provider and it falls into an applicable CDT code or "part-of" a service.... FYI the next time you try to force SRP and refuse to review the CURRENT SRP HX along with the 4 month PM HX, you better know some people don't take it lightly that you try to over treat! For the record, it's called reviewing prior SRP HX, comparing probes (as we all know probes can be 1+ difference between providers) and comparing the X-rays as in order for her to have needed another SRP, and not periodontal maintenance, is if the radiographs showed evidence of root surface calculus and changes in the crestal lamina dura, with clinical loss of periodontal attachment in comparison to the prior info. Which hers did not! As for your front office who clearly doesn't know the insurance guidelines along with the recommendations of the ADA, you probably should get them some training at your annual dental convention. INVEST in their knowledge, as the way they laughed at my moms legitimate questions as a former dental back office team member herself, I would have made them cry when I schooled them on the fact they don't know anything in dentistry with their condescending demeanor! There's a reason people in dentistry say you SELL YOUR SOUL when you walk into a corporate office and you proved that this week when my mother was forced to see you under her insurance as you were the in-network dentist in her area. So with that said, I'll send her to a reputable dentist where they aren't seeing some associate fresh out of dental school over a VIDEO CHAT while a hygienist in office is trying to diagnose out of her scope of Dentistry. And I'll be sure to make an example of this during my next speaker events coming up this month as lord knows we all love a sh*tty dental office story especially when it's related to corporate or DSO! Btw are you notifying your patients that they see a virtual dentist... oh wait you aren't! That's why all your reviews on Google also are about it! SMH DO BETTER! Beware, they will tell you how much your bill is after your coverage. You'll sign a paper that says you will pay whatever is not covered. They do not check to see what is covered with your insurance they guess. i'm sure this brings them extra income, but it will give you more expense. Example they offered fluoride I told him no and I said I'll go ahead take it it's covered. I said oh well go ahead. I would've never taken it if she didn't insist said it was free. Well the insurance didn't cover it. They were up $60 I'm down $60. I called to see if they would correct it, no they plan on collecting it. They will continue this because it brings in more money. I think this practice should be considered Criminal . Hopefully they'll be caught or go out of business. read more

This is not a good dental office. They scheduled an 8:30 appointment with me sent me several text reminder and a confirmation text where I confirmed the appointment. Get to the dental office and the office Manger says to me my appointment is at 10:50 , but they can fit me in now. Waited an hour and never saw a dentist. Spoke with the dentist and she said she did not have me on her schedule for 8:30am. Then the office manager lies to the dentist while I'm standing there and says she called and rescheduled me. I didn't even go there. My daughter went there 10 months ago and now they keep sending me bill. It was the worse dental experience I ever witnessed. There wasn't even a Dentist on site. He face timed her on a screen in the room. Now 10 months later they are sending me bills for a service that her dental plan covers 100%. Been going here a couple years when it was Dr. Traylor. Show up for an emergency un-scheduled appointment and it is an entirely new staff. New Dentist refuses to glue crown back on and says it was poor work by Dr. Traylor. Dentist says it needs to be redone. OK, no problem as I still have my warranty paperwork from when Dr. Traylor made/installed the crown (only 18 month previous). 6 visits and a stack of bills later for my warranty. Try to discuss the bills with the local office and they refer me to corporate. Try to discuss the bills with corporate and they refer me to the local office. Left multiple voicemails for corporate (since no one answers the phone) and none of them have been returned. Now they are threatening to turn this over to collections and discharge me as a patient. I urge all locals to seek another provider as there is nothing positive to report about the lack of professionalism of the Coast Dental organization. read more

I arrived for my 11:30 am appointment at 11:15. They made me wait til 12:00 before taking me. No other patients were there. The appointment was supposed to be for cleaning, xrays and exam which was what I requested when making the appointment 3 months ago. I was told all they had time to do was xrays (wanting to charge me for extra xrays they said my plan did not cover.) They said I'd have to come back another time for the cleaning and exam. Went to Coast because they were the only place in town for my dental coverage. They will not clean teeth before a full exam and 18 X-rays! Next the hygienist checks me out. Says I have deep pockets and need a $700 deep cleaning. They refuse to do a fluoride treatment and regular cleaning that is covered, and tell me that is only a polishing. My gums don't bleed and my regular dentist had mentioned no problems earlier this year. Made me think " Bait and switch". They make a deal with insurance companies to get you in, and then exaggerate what you need and overcharge for the work. read more

I moved to this area from Miami where I'd been seeing the dentist regularly. Coastal Dental in New Symrna, Fl took my insurance so I made an appt. I was told right away I needed extensive work which had never been mentioned to me in Miami Dr Traynor was the dentist. She put a cap on which stuck out from the rest of my teeth. When I went back to have it looked at she told me she was moving & didn't want to repair it. The next time I went back Dr Sanchez was the dentist & completely redid the work of Dr Traynor. In 4 1/2 years, I've seen 4 dentists & the office staff are always changing. I've had crowns, fillings & caps put on in this office. The last cap ( a different one than the one that was redone) flipped off while brushing my teeth. They took me in right away but since I was unable to find the lost cap I was told I would have to pay again which I did pay again. Dr Green fixed this cap as I remember it. A month or so later I went in for a cleaning & a new dentist was there...Dr Paninni told me "all your bottom teeth have cavities." When I questioned her since I'd just been seen not long before she became agitated & told me "she was the dentist & knew what she was doing." She was pressing on my gums with an instrument & I told her she was hurting me. She never said anything & didn't stop what she was doing. They were preparing to start working on my cavities when I got up & told them I was leaving & would not be going back to this office. The staff is nice & Dr Sanchez was good & very meticulous but there is no consistency in this office. I have never been to any of their other offices. read more

First impression not great. Went there today after hearing good things, had scheduled a cleaning.. Was there two hours, people very nice, BUT, NO CLEANING. just a bunch of waiting around..a couple x Ray's, unnecessary, since I had my former dentist in Maine email everything to them, but apparently, they don't have a way to open emailed files.. Which no one told me when I called quite a few times before my appointment to make sure they had received my files.. Which included x-ray. Again, the staff was nice, but no one seemed to have an idea what was going on.. Shabby shabby shabby equipment and professional space. I didn't go there for a discount, I went because I'd heard good things, but the equipment was outdated and they pushed services I knew weren't necessary. I'm normally the easiest person to please, and I've been to many dental offices, but this was a ratty, disorganised office. I have to go back for a cleaning, because they neglected to schedule it, but I was still there for 2 HOURS! just shameful. I'll going back for the cleaning, to give them another chance, but I think it's likely I'll have to find a cleaner, more professional office, I feel like I've scraped the bottom with this one...I will update after Monday if my feelings have changed read more

The new staff at Coastal Dental are fantastic and very professional. They are on time and very thorough. The Dentist has a very calming manner that he uses to make your appointment as easy as can be. I just had 2 fillings without a numbing agent and I didn't want to run out of there! They take Humana plus other insurance, I highly recommend the Coast Dental In New Smyrna Beach on Hwy.1 (Dixie Freeway) I am definitely going back, plus they have an easy payment plan. I had them do a filling and had a problem with it a month or two after the fact. My insurance had lapsed at that point. I called them and was scheduled to come in the next day where they drilled and refilled my tooth at no cost. Just recently I needed a root canal. I had been in pain for over a week and was going out of town for vacation. I just needed a referral to a specialists so I could get the root canal and not be in serve pain before going out of country for vacation. I had to have a referral for my insurance to cover the cost. They told me they couldn't get me in that they were too busy. I said that I was in serve pain and had to have this done. They refused to get me in and referred. I had to schedule and appointment with a specialist myself and pay out of pocket. They obviously don't care about their patients. I would never go here! Very unprofessional! read more

Obamacare assigned this office to me as my primary care dentist. Ten days before my insurance started I had a dental emergency (abscess molar). Before I called to make an appointment I went on-line to see if they had any coupons. Sure enough, "Free Emergency Exam and X-Ray", so I loaded the app and the coupon and made a phone call at 0947a and had to leave a message because they were otherwise busy. I did. I stated I was soon to be a patient but I was having a dental emergency. I did not mention the coupon. My call was not returned for over an hour and a half so I called again. This time I was put on hold for about six minutes. During that time the phone was picked up and I was asked if I was "Joe" or "Mary". When I did get to speak with someone and explained the emergency (pain out of this world, can't eat, can't sleep) they told me the earliest I could get in would be another 14 days. Really? An abscess tooth can be deadly within a short period of time. I know this as I've had it happen before. I know this because I'd been miserable all weekend and nearly went to the ER. I said as much. They told me to call another office. What? WHY do they have an Emergency coupon if you can't use it? And WHY so disorganized? Not calling back an Emergency message and the phone lines and callers all confused. No thank you. I cancelled my insurance before the first payment. And I did call another DENTIST, not one of their other further away offices. I called my new wonderful dentist at 1130a and they scheduled me at 0100p that very day. I'm happy to say the pain is gone. I'm on antibiotics for the next ten days (free at Publix). I will probably lose the molar but I'm not going to die in the next 14 days. read more
