The worst dental experience!! Dr. Hart broke an instrument in my gum, and referred me to an Endodontist. Two options.. pull the tooth to get metal out, or leave it in. My insurance doesn't cover Specialists. I paid $1390.00 for his mistake! AND I still have the metal in my .gum! What's going to happen with that in the mfuture?! I have sent a registered letter to Corporate, and over 20 phone calls....all sent to voicemail. Not once has anyone called me back! Worst customer service ever! I will turn this over to my attorney. They initially tried to quote me $400 which I knew wasnt correct. The nurse who was assisting me just argued and said "I know nothing about the insurance. I have nothing to do with it." With a terrible attitude. Like she very much didnt want to deal with anyone. She finally takes me back out front and it turns out they entered the wrong insurance and my visit was covered. They then took x rays and took me into an exam room. They had me meet virtually with a dentist which took 30 minutes or more because it took 4 people to figure out how to work the computer. They left a front desk worker in the room with me because they were too busy for me and she complained that "she had her work to do too" they also very blatantly complained about another client in front of me. Once they got the zoom call to work it was basically pointless bc he said he wanted an in house dentist to confirm that i have no cavities bc "he can only see so much on an xray". So that was pointless. And then I sat for another 20 minutes while they said they were going to schedule me for a future visit. I walked myself back out front and was basically told that it is what it is because not a lot of people take my insurance. So basically they are okay treating a patient like garbage because they accept a certain kind of insurance that others dont. I will not be coming back here. It was horrendous and everyone was so confused and ill trained that I would not feel safe letting them even do a cleaning. Id rather pay out of pocket than to step near that level of incompetence again. Not to mention, what looked to be the office manager, walking around eating food which is unsanitary. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Run the other direction if you were thinking about scheduling with them. I scheduled a cleaning, which is fully covered by my insurance less a $15 co-pay. Without a clear explanation, I was billed $77.00 for Periodontal Maintenance and an Anti-bacterial irrigation. They even tried to get me to agree to a "tooth whitening". Since I voiced my concerns about the pricing, Hygienist Wendy never bothered to fully explain the difference between a cleaning and maintenance. When I contacted my insurance, they confirmed I should have only been billed the $15. Coast's office offered no adjustment. I stopped payment on the credit card charge. Their response..."We'll turn it over to collections". Now that is great customer service, eh? Watch these wolves. By the way, Dr. Everleese is still a talented dentist. Don't bother to make an appointment ! Moved from NY. Three months ago, I called Coastal, very specifically, made an appointment for a cleaning. Showed up today after receiving a confirmation one week ago, three days ago, one today and another one hour before my scheduled appointment. Showed up to an empty reception area with no one behind a desk. Waited for ten minutes and finally someone appeared at the desk and asked if she could help me. I explained that I was there for my appointment. She asked what service. I said cleaning. She looked and said I was not listed and dragged someone from the back room to help. This second woman found my name and agreed I had an appointment but said they couldn't see me because their computers were down and needed computers for digital cleaning. WHEN could they reschedule? Said the doctor needs to see me before a cleaning and might want to do deep periodontal deep cleaning. NO DEEP CLEANING! All I need is standard six month cleaning. They couldn't fit me in earlier nor would they schedule a new appointment any earlier than end of October. ZERO STARS read more

This is the worst dentist establishment I've ever encountered. First off the dentist Hughes and Wendy are amazing. That's all I'm saying about them. The scheduling; I have had them cancel on me TWICE at the least minute after I've taken a day off from a job that's very difficult to do so. Went in for fillings and right side cleaning last week. Everything was fine. Appointment was made for left side cleaning and more fillings today. I get there and they do the fillings but don't have me on a schedule for cleaning. I was so mad. Really? Can I come back tomorrow. Hell NO. I don't have free time. The lady that makes the appointments is aloof. She seems out of it. The equipment is ancient. X-ray machine looks like something out of lost in space. The procedure rooms are tired and have nothing to watch. No TVs or anything. Just a photo of a guy with much better teeth than yours. If I were you I'd find somewhere else. I will never return, I'll get the second part of my cleaning done someplace else. Even with insurance my half cleaning there was $190. read more

This dental office is majorly antiquated. As new resident to the area I blindly made an appointment to try this office. My 1st appointment was rescheduled as apparently I had been booked should there be a cancelation, however their call center never explained that up front. I was rescheduled a 2nd time due to power failure at their office. I finally went in for my teeth cleaning almost 3 weeks later, only I wasn't told in advance that they don't perform cleanings upon the 1st visit. The person who processed my xrays was the person who answers the phone. She picked up all the xray film cards with her fingers & THEN put on gloves. Not only did I receive the bite wing xrays, but an additional 18 xrays of what seemed to be of each of my individual teeth. The equipment was old and outdated. I was then put into a disgustingly filthy exam room. The chair for extra seating was dusty and the seat cover cracking, the cabinets were open revealing old blankets and head pillows, and there was a piece of dental floss stuck on the wall. (I took pictures). I waited for over 30 min in the chair to have a woman come in and measure my gums and then the dentist came in and looked briefly into my mouth and told the girl to note I qualified for a regular teeth cleaning. I was told to come up front to schedule that appointment only after I was told they have only one hygienist who would be on vacation the entire following month, and I could not be seen for another 45 days. Another client walked in when I was in the waiting area (which consisted of 2 old chairs), and the man was told he wasn't down for an appointment. He told him he had it right there on his phone, and then the receptionist told him she had called and left a message a week prior telling him they'd have to reschedule. So unprofessional. I do not recommend this office and have already changed my provider and asked for my records to be transferred. This office is so dirty it seems it would fail a health inspection. read more

Tried them for the first time yesterday. Receptionist had an attitude, the dental technician was barely legible behind her mask but hey it's just a cleaning so let's make the best of it. Nope. No dentist on site, which I already knew about, but we do a quick tele-doc conference where she tells me that my teeth look good (3 minutes tops), I agree and I explain that all I need is a cleaning. Dental tech comes back to have me sign the billing mid-visit (this is a first). X-Rays are covered by insurance and mumbles something about me needing to agree to pay an extra $188 for a deep cleaning and rinse process. I decline and explain that all I want is what's covered by my insurance. They refuse because the dentist ordered this. Fine let 's discuss it. 20 minutes later we finally get the dentist back online and she tells me that she won't authorize the cleaning I'm requesting and then tries to redirect me to the office manager - as if that's going to change anything. So they basically get me in there, use up one of my two covered dental visits and they hand me a protocol with an up charge on a take it or leave it basis that they didn't bother to explain the rationale for during the consult. In the end, I got up and left. I'm down one covered visit and I'm confident that the dentist is still going to bill for the consult even though she didn't meet with me in person. This isn't the first time I've run into a scam operation but damn it's annoying. read more

Went to Coast Dental in Vero Beach today to get my 2 front chipped teeth looked at. As soon as I walked in I was pleasantly greeted, filled out my paperwork and immediately taken to get an X-ray done. Right after that I was in the dentist chair and they fixed both my teeth THAT DAY!! I was shocked. EVERYONE was extremely friendly!! The receptionist staff, the dental assistant, the dentist and the sweet girl who takes care of payments and such were all orginazined, professional, speedy and treated me very kindly. I don't think I have ever been to a more unprofessional medical office in my entire life. Their waiting room is a facade for what awaits you in the rear. You get x-rays sitting in a waiting room chair as the tech steps outside. When I was taken back to see the doctor he laid the light box with my printed x-rays across his lap to show me. He unplugged it from one outlet to another so it would reach, it was one of the most awkward things I've seen, not to mention the embarrassingly poor quality of the equipment and images. He then did a quick exam and told me I would get a quote for my cleaning. With my insurance I was quoted a ridiculous sum because I "don't qualify for a standard cleaning". I have never missed a cleaning, have gone every 6 months my whole life, I just switched jobs and it's the first time I don't have dental benefits and had to purchase benefits through the marketplace, my mistake!!!! Will wait till open enrollment and get a higher plan to avoid a SCAMMING practice like this one! Won't fail to mention that I was rescheduled 2x for my appt only finding out via text, no phone call, and when I asked to speak to the office manager, she blamed it on the "system" but I could see one of the hygienists changing appointments Willy nilly on the computer in the back with no regard. read more

I've been a patient with Dr. Overleese over the years and honestly, after reading some of the reviews here, I would like to say that the Staff has shown steady improvement since I was there last!! Truth be told, the first improvement has been the front desk, the people working behind there SMILE when they see you, greet you warmly and ask all the usuals. Let us just say that without doubt, this is a 180 degree turn around since those I encountered years back (and one of the reasons why I hadn't sought care for some time either....) Lo, behold, I have met new people - Jacqueline the dental hygeinist was very professional with excellent chair side qualities. Put me at ease in moments! Further, Mimi - the new Office Manager, was a distinct, huge PLUS. Maybe not perfectly adept in this utterly-demanding job but HEY, who can do this better? Myself?! You gotta be kidding me!! Put it this way: if she didn't have the answer then and there, she was going to FIND that answer ASAP. Period! Add that warmth that is undeniable and clearly missing from a demoralized Staff from earlier years and let me say, the emotional state is FAR IMPROVED to date. (Take it from me, I am a retired physician myself. I know what it is that I know.) Now....further....let me say I read some of the reviews. I AGREE with certain aspects of what the above jobs require, and YES, some critiques struck a chord that when I gave it further thought, there was some mutual agreement with assessments indeed. Take, for instance, the radiology aspect. Xray equipment can be finicky and the work is tedious, ESPECIALLY if an office is using older machines. This was an example of OLDER equipment BUT not like antique or ineffective. Put it this way, I know when radiographs are over-exposed, under-exposed, poorly shot, angles being off, etc etc. The Xray tech who worked along with me was quite good, quite patient with every single aspect of the work. The reason I don't list her name is the fact that she didn't wear a name tag that day. Sorry is that I cannot give you her name but those would agree that she is amazingly cheerful and careful with her job responsibilities. She wore a long lab jacket that reminded me of my days in the hospital laboratories indeed! If there was ONE THING that I recommend this Office take care of pronto tonto....is taking the chemicals and attached hoses off the floor of the Xray room and put them back under the counters where I believe the law requires them to be. In truth, xrays require very tedious, required chemical baths in which negatives can be processed and processed well. Not to name the chemicals themselves BUT.......but...... when patients are being ushered from their treatment room to xray room and back again, and even though the buckets w/attached hose were NOT in my direct path of walking either to or fro, there IS one law that clearly WILL rear it's ugly, well-respected face at that worst moment...and that is...Murphy's Law. Trust me. My last name is MURPHY. I know this stuff!! With a cool staff that I clearly liked, and answered every single question I had... it is onto Dr. Overleese. Honestly, this dentist has made quite a journey over the years! And this alone speaks volumes as to his ability to care for teeth and no one needs him more than myself! Does this mean I agreed with every single aspect of care he either wished to or did provide? Put it this way, if there is a perfect Dentist out there, let me know! Truth is, he keeps his head down, has that "git 'er done!" - mode that is undeniable as it is able. In the end, his work is reliable and if you compare costs with other, ritzy dentist offices around town, I daresay you might even come away thinking that the costs incurred with this Team is lower than most. So...check around! And do it FIRST if I might say so. That said, if I reviewed them in the past, it was the former Staff that often let me down... but this Staff actually enjoyed my company, and said so. What a difference! Maybe not perfect, but then again, they never claim to be. I'd rather be with someone who wanted his or her care to make every difference than receive care from someone who was more concerned with their fiscal realities I knew nothing about. the worst dental office I've been to. I was there on Nov 16 of 17. I had some money in my plan that I could spend and wanted to explore what work I could have done. Well they had their own ideas and first sent me to the hygienist. The man was a butcher and began poking and puncturing my gums. I quickly stopped him and told him that I wanted just a regular cleaning. I was directed to the office manager's desk and the dentist soon came out to berate and criticize me "you don't dictate anything". Went there they told e I had periodontal disease and it would cost me $1500 to get my teeth cleaned - I explained to them I never had such a bad review of my teeth that I went 6 months before that to my previous dentist & everything was fine. What can anyone say to even help make this practice better? YIKES! New to the area, they were the only practice that could see me relatively quickly for an urgent care situation (crowns and a bridge had broken). Decided to address problem with a new partial denture. Well, needless to say, 4 months later and I'm still waiting for It! "Can't we speed it up?" I asked, even offering to pay additional "rush" costs or take it to the lab myself. "No, our lab is in Tampa and WE send it to them." For 4 months now I've had NO FRONT TEETH! My former dentists, both now retired, would have had EVERYTHING done in about a week or two MAX. Word of advice, do yourself and oral health a favor... find another practice... stay away from Coast. read more

Very disappointed with this office. I waited 2 months for a new patient exam, which was cancelled the day before because they had to fit an emergency in. I was ok with that because I'd want the same service. I was rescheduled almost 1 month later, and again, the day before my appointment, it was cancelled because they had to fit another emergency in. Question every charge that you are given at this facility and if available, take a copy of your insurance carriers schedule of charges. My dental insurance is an HMO. I had to have a crown recemented and was charged $186. I later found out through my insurance carrier that I should have only been charged $43. Now I'm being told that it will be 4-6 weeks for them to reimburse me the difference when it is THEIR ERROR. I am now highly suspect of them because when I asked about scheduling a cleaning (I asked at the time that I had the crown recemented), I was told that it would be almost $100. Most insurance will pay 100% for 2 cleanings a year. I questioned this and was told that the price was accurate. I was also given another page indicating what the charges would be for other dental work later down the line. I suspect that it too will be well above what is on my schedule of charges from my insurance carrier. When questioned as to why they charged me so much more than the scheduled charge, I was told that it was a coding error. I could understand that had I not been given the other estimates (with one of them verified to be way above what it should have been). On top of all of this, I was told that I would have to give them my credit card number again to get the reimbursement. I was not comfortable with doing so given the current situation. I inquired as to being reimbursed via a check and was told that they would only do that if my credit card account was no longer active and I would have to provide them proof that the card was no longer active. MORE INTERESTED IN MONEY THAN HONEST, WELL-MANAGED DENTAL PRACTICE. I've had 2 dentists in the last 3 years due to Insurance Company having issues with the dentists themselves. I've had good teeth and gums for years (floss and gum massage routinely). Today I went to Coast for the first time. Dentist himself was good. Thorough; told me no fractures/cracks, no cavities. Then comes the hygienist. After poking between each tooth, MAGICALLY MY GOOD TEETH SUDDENLY NEED $500 FOR PERIODONTAL WORK AND $55 3-4 TIMES/YR FOREVER after years and years of good teeth. Are you kidding me. I even compared their periodontal measurements today with those taken a year ago by my last dentist. Clearly 3's and 4's a year ago suddenly became 5's and suddenly good teeth became periodontal-needy and dollar signs popped up. THIS IS A CRIME TO CONCLUDE NON-NEEDED SERVICES. I found the office dirty, the office xray tech unprofessional, the accomodations not convenient. Was not asked if I wanted panaramic xray which they charge extra for. Was told they do not bill my dental ins, they give a reduced rate. not true, I called my ins and we were suppose to pay 35. co pay for new patient consult. Did not see Dentist or Hygenist. Xray tech came in with bill for 143.00 for me to sign that I would pay. I decided not to stay, but I had to give them a check for 122.00 for my husband and myself. We had declined the cancer screening, since we don't smoke. Neither my husband or myself were seen by the doctor or hygenist. Bitewing xrays are no charge in my book, which they also charged for. Need to find new dentist!! Don't go there! Plus we waited 2 hours to even be seen. Well, its been 3 months and still no xrays sent to my prev dentist and no refund, which I was promised with a phone call from their office manager.
