Coast Dental is a money-making business! They are dishonest and will lie to make a buck. My son was told at the age of 21 that he had advanced periodontal disease and 21 cavities! He was then told that he would need dentures. Fast forward a couple of months, he went to another dentist and was told he had no gum disease and 2 cavities. My husband and I went here after moving from Clearwater and had the worst experience possible. We have our cleanings done every three months and we scheduled our appointment for a regular cleaning. Instead of a cleaning we were x-rayed and subjected to a high pressure sales pitch to perform $5000.00 of work that we later confirmed at another dentist was not necessary. The only focus was to schedule appointments to have unnecessary work done. The dentist even wanted to replace a filling at a cost of $800.00 because it looked old. We left and will never go back. Our old dentist in Clearwater and the new one we went to after this terrible visit, confirmed that our teeth are just fine. On top of all that we never even got the cleaning we scheduled. read more

This is malpractice looking for a place to happen. I went there after Hurricane Irma with little options available. I needed a tooth extracted. They required full payment up front for a bridge in the sum if $3,444.80. They scheduled a return appt in six weeks after putting a thin temporary bridge on. Called twice explaining that I was in extreme pain. I was totally brushed off. One of the teeth in the temporary bridge is now infected. I requested a refund of my money two weeks ago and they have not returned same.i am disabled and can not get dental treatment without these funds. To date the best experience I've ever has in a dental office was this mornings! From the onset - setting my appointment over the phone with a very pleasant, informative, and English speaking woman. Then upon arrival to the clinic, CLEAN, very professional, and orderly - more like a cosmetic surgical suite then dental office. The nurse that took my X-rays, the woman who cleaned my teeth, and Dr Nash - each are the perfect example of how to practice dentistry! I was told that I had nine cavities & moderate to severe periodontal disease and then I was belittled for having some cement on my front teeth from wearing braces. I opted to skip the $2000+ dental work with Coast Dental and seek a second opinion. Fast forward a couple of years -yes I procrastinate- I wind up at a privately owned dentist in Wesley Chapel. Not telling my new dentist the experience I had with Coast. Just waiting for an unaltered opinion. After X rays & my new patient exam I was told that I had a little gum disease around my back teeth and wait for it... no cavities. ZERO CAVITIES. Coast Dental lied to me! Coast Dental has the customer service skills of a 1980's used car dealer. They use bullying tactics to prey on people who might not know any better. They will lie, cheat & steal to meet their sales quota. Believe me when I say that I will tell every person I know the experience I've had with Coast Dental. I am livid with this company. read more

Although we were really pleased with my dentist and his staff, the billing problems we ran into far outweighed the benefits of returning. They overcharged us although some of the money was refunded after sending several letters. The primary overcharge was $300 more for work I had signed an agreement about, saying it was because insurance had raised their rates even though we sent them the correspondence from the insurance co. saying they had NOT raised their rates. I was not presented with this increased billing until after the prep work was done, and I paid then because I feared not getting the permanent crowns if I didn't. Coast refused to refund the money. Their membership in BBB has been revoked because of many billing complaints. We can't afford to return to or recommend a business that cheats their customers. read more

If you are considering braces , please do not use Coast Dental. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. They have high turnover rates, dis-organized and do not follow up with patients. They personally cost me thousands of dollars because of there inability to have any follow up practice in place. BEWARE!!! After a procedure, they told my wife that insurance didn't cover any of it. We paid 100% only to find out later that my insurance does cover 50%. They submitted our claim to my insurance and my insurance paid them the 50%. Three months later, that money was never returned. I called their office and the manager said that we never requested OUR money to be refunded.WHAT????? Now they are telling us that it will be 12-14 weeks before OUR money can be reimbursed. The doctor is very professional and friendly, does a wonderful job!!! However the reason why I give a 2 is due to the higenist lady, is very unprofessional and rude when it comes to making any comments etc... Since my first visit I notice her heavy attitude and I was not wrong, my second time it was the same thing. I even notice how she spoke to a patient about his kid dental cleaning and her unprofessionalism is very noticeable. read more

Went today 1/28/14 for an initial visit/consolation. I explained on phone and when I arrived my phobia and anxiety at the dentist. Everyone was very kind and patient with me during my 2 hour visit. Aury was very sweet and explained step by step what was going to happen. Dr. Ghabbour was also great, very patient, kind and had a great personality. I'd def recommend to others. Sadly, I will have to part ways with this company. I went in with very specific reasons that needed to be addressed. I was asked if I wanted to continue working on my treatment plan. I said yes until previous financing became an issue. I went back to just having my original concerns addressed. ... or so I thought. Out of the three teeth that I went in to work on only one was actually touched. At no time was I told that they couldn't do what I asked for. I was very specific that I wanted to only do fillings on the teeth I came in with issues on. Instead they worked on other issues racking up a $1000 price tag. Granted insurance will pick up about %60 of it, but if I was told clearly up front what was really going on things would have been completely different. I feel like I was involved in a bait and switch, since I said one thing and thought that was what I was getting. It wasn't until I was looking in a mirror that I saw that 2/3 of my issues were still staring back at me. It was then I was told the news I wouldn't be able to get what I asked for. Communication is a huge issue when it comes to this kind of service. I'm disappointed that it had to end this way. read more

After waiting 3 months for an appointment (only one on my insurance) I found out cleaning my teeth would cost over $1400 and the dentist wanted to cap another tooth for another $1100. I decided to get another opinion from an established dentist in practice for 30 yrs (recommend by a friend). They took me the next day, cleaned my teeth (including scaling), doc didn't think it was a rush to cap the tooth. He even trimmed the edge of a chipped tooth and without insurance it cost me $70. read more

Where do I begin! I decided to choose coast dental to remove my wisdom teeth TOMORROW morning. Well they decide to call me today less than 24 hrs before (at about 4pm today) my surgery, to notify me that the oral surgeon Dr. Hernandez will be out of town. No words can express my anger with this place. I am in pain and have been waiting a LONG TIME to get these removed only to be told that my surgery will not happen. Still in pain and frustrated, I must now find another oral surgeon. I recommend that no one ever goes to this place. No wonder they only have 2 stars on yelp. read more

My first appointment was great! Everyone was courteous and welcoming. The hygienist was educational on hygiene and Dr. Nash was so sweet with his voice and his work. The front desk greeted my wife and I with a smile. Our second appointment didn't go so well. My wife was prescribed medication to relax her anxiety about the dentist (just like the first appointment) and a lady in a white coat called our names since we are both being seen. The lady in the white coat turned towards Nash's assistant and said under her breath "Oh jesus" after taking a look at my wife and her anxious face. As a medical professional, she should understand that no one likes the dentist, some more than others. If she can't handle that, she should change her profession. I immediately told my wife we were leaving and we will NOT return to ANY coast dental. Unfortunate for the rest of the staff because they were excellent. If they are reading this, thank you for your patience and for calling me after I left to see what was wrong. This is not against you personally. This is PERSONALLY against that lady who has a problem with my wife's anxiety! read more

NOT EVEN WORTHY OF ONE STAR but can't go lower. This place is a 100% RIP OFF!!!! My son has Medicaid and horribly crooked teeth. He was under Orthodontic care for two years previously with teeth pulled and retainers when Medicaid changed his plan and he was referred to Coast Dental. Being a new patient, he had to start all over with Coast Dental and them telling Medicaid his teeth did not qualify for Medicaid coverage after 2years of approval. They told me I would have to pay for everything myself. The only option they gave was to open a Care Credit account. They just wanted to paid up front in full! I was charged an extra fee for every little thing that was loose or broken. RIP OFF seeing as I had already paid 4,500.00 to them. Fast forward....My son has since gotten his braces off and is now in retainers. I just took him the other day for a check up and his bottom retainer has a broken wire. They said it is not fixable and that I would have to pay 324.00 just for a bottom retainer. The ortho assistant tech mentioned a plastic retainer for 200.00 but was immediately pulled from the room and reprimanded for suggesting the cheaper retainer and was told never to offer the lower priced one again. I have called the corporate office twice in two days to make a complaint only to get a voicemail. No one has bothered to call me back. I feel I'm stuck paying this amount because I don't want his teeth to move after 5yrs of ortho appts. DON'T EVER USE COAST DENTAL!!!!! THEY ARE A SCAM FROM THE GET GO!!!!! I have two more kids that also need braces and if I have to pay, I will use a private orthodontist. I will be reporting to the BBB and I hope everybody else will do the same. Don't expect great customer service at the Wesley Chapel Coast Dental. First, I asked the secretary if I could do my exam and cleaning on the same day and she said they could. When I went for my appointment, they said I would have to come back to do my cleaning. I had a few cavities filled and one of them was done incorrectly. I thought I had something stuck in my tooth, so I picked it out with my tongue and it was half my resin filling. The office refused to fix it and blamed it on me. Lastly, they never refunded me a fee that my dental insurance company said should have been refunded to me. My dental insurance was retro activated and they said the office fee I was charged should be refunded, but the office refused. Be aware. They just make up their own rules here. Also, Coast Dental has 121 complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and a C - rating. I wish I had known that beforehand. I would have chosen another dentist. read more

I saw a review of this dental office on yellow pages.com and took the bad review with a grain of salt. I went there and was immediately hit with a charge for this and a charge for that. Even though my dental plan covered my visit and cleaning for no charge they tried to say we needed $125 to cover a full set of x-rays (even though we just had that done 6 months prior at a different dentist . Our old dentist did not take our new insurance. But they never asked me to get the old records. And they said the dentist would not even see us unless an oral cancer screening was done for $60. When I said I would get the old records they said they would not be able to read the handwriting (even before they got them). It was one excuse after the next why they would not look at me before everything was agreed upon to be done. I walked out of their office. I will find an honest dentist in my area and would drive further before given them a penny. No concern for the patient, just the almighty dollar. The first review I read was totally correct.
