The food is excellent--flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently satisfying--but what truly sets this place apart is the service, especially when you're seated at the bar. As a bar guest, I experienced something far above exceptional. It felt like walking into a place I already loved and being shown the very best of it by people who genuinely care. To the bartenders and staff who made every visit feel that way: Dairy-ah (I'm almost certainly butchering the spelling, but the pronunciation stuck with me), thank you for the warmth, the skill, and the way you made the bar feel welcoming every time. Lucy--always with the hat on backwards--you became my spirit animal the moment I realized how perfectly that energy matched the whole vibe of the place. Thank you for being exactly who you are behind that bar. Brittney, the chillest of them all: your calm, easy presence made everything feel lighter and better. Chelsea, I only got to have you serve me once, but that one time was enough to know how good you are at this. And to the Servers, Paul and Lola: even in our brief interactions while I was at the bar, both of you brought such strong, genuine personalities that it elevated the whole experience. Thank you for that. Blue Heaven is an amazing restaurant with great food and even greater service. But more than that, it's the people who make it feel like coming home and being shown the best time in a place you love the most. Thank you--truly--to all of you for making it feel that way. And to Henry, a longtime regular at the bar, who passed away during my visit. "His" presence was clearly part of the fabric of this place, and I'm grateful I got to share that space, however briefly, with the people who knew and cared for him. Thank You All, and sorry if I didn't list your name in this review because there were far more of you than I've mentioned, just Know my early mornings sitting at the Blue Heavens Bar, was the highlight of everyday I spent in Key West. Sincerely, Brian.. (or as my friends call me, "Jonesie")...

Strawberry margarita was fresh and hit the spot! My boyfriend enjoyed his blackened grouper sandwich with jalapeño coslaw( says that could have been spicier) The view is awesome- keep an eye on small children to not fall over into the ocean. I hope we have to go back! Really loved this place!

The settings by the water gave a very lazy look and was quite perfect on a lazy day. The menu is quite compact and so there is not much choice. But the blackened fish was very well done and so was the chimichanga. Portions are sizable so think twice before ordering appetizers. It would be great to just ride a boat to the place. Park it there and have a relaxed time. They have a live band and also a dance area. Should be good also to come one for dinner. The chimichanga and buffalo wings are the best dishes!! The buffalo sauce has a carribean edge to it. Maybe they have a special ingredient for the sauce. Overall I would rate as - Ambience - 4/5 (the heat is certainly uncomfortable but then the lazy feel is great) Food taste - 3.5/5 Presentation - 3.5/5 Food quantity - 5/5 Service - 3.5/5 Price - 4/5 Recommended dish - chimichanga and buffalo wings

There was live music playing, pool tables, and even some video games, so there's plenty to keep you and the family entertained while you hang out. Kids are allowed in, but they aren't allowed to sit at the bar. It definitely feels like one of those places where you can lose track of time in the best way. They also have a merch area with hoodies, stickers, and other souvenirs if you want to take a little piece of the experience home. And knowing it's one of the oldest bars in the Keys just adds to the charm and history of the place. The service was quick, you walk up to the bar and order then find a place to sit. Super chill and laid back. One fun thing you have to try is tossing a quarter into the fish's mouth outside... test your luck and see if you can land it! Can't forget the drinks! The rum punch is to die for... super refreshing and perfect for the Key West heat. Overall, such a fun stop if you're in town. Definitely worth checking out! Fun fact: - it used to be a morgue and ice house back in the day. it also used to be the original home of Sloppy Joes, before they moved to Duvall St.

Of course it is an attraction because it is supposedly the original Sloppy Joes where Ernest Hemingway hung out. It is dark inside with low ceilings.
