Incredible bar in Key West. If this had been our first stop, we would've hung out there all night long. Great prices for drinks and super sweet, welcoming staff. You could spend hours admiring the decor. My boyfriend ordered an old fashioned and it was mixed perfectly. Honestly I can't say one negative thing. We both remarked that if we lived in the area, we'd be regulars. Be sure to stop in on your next trip! read more

Awesome local bar, with lice music and great drinks at a very reasonable price! Walls lined with patches from EMS, fire fighters, Navy, Air Force and police. Plenty of seating inside, but they also have seating outside too. Swing by, and chat with the bartenders, as they've got some good stories to tell. read more

Came in with a group of girls for a Bachelorette party. We have significant others in military and first responders so we were happy to stop in for a drink when we saw hero's. Immediately, because we were a bachelorette party, we were ridiculed and accosted by the live singer. Not the bartenders or patrons. Just the guy on the guitar on 6/18 at like 9pm. We literally just came into town and had dinner. We weren't being obnoxious, didn't have enough yet to drink to even think about being obnoxious. But we were looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks which we thought was Hero's. But the guy who was playing live music made it impossible to stay and hang out. We did nothing but order drinks and chit chat and he played no music (and the little he did was garbage) and the "singer" just spent the time talking trash to our group specifically. Not poking fun. Just being rude. We tipped our bartenders well ($5 for one drink type of tip) and that guy robbed those employees of probably hundreds of dollars of tips. Feel free to continue to have an empty bar if you prefer to have that blow hole be your live entertainment. read more

This place is the hidden gem of Key West! Such a cool vibe with the tremendous salute to veterans and first responders that is so hard to find anymore! The two bartenders downstairs were super chill and great to chat with and the military medals, patches, and ribbons the fill the walls and ceilings are so cool! There is a great mural tribute to 9/11 and just a very appreciative, patriotic vibe. They had live music upstairs and it's just the kind of place you want to go and hang out with the locals and other tourists, have some drinks, make some friends and just have a chill time. Wish there were more places like this! read more

Although I'm not a drinker my party appreciate this quick stop...the staff was friendly and we appreciated their recommendations. We all loved the hero drink menu and a couple of my friends were pleased with their selection which consisted of G man and mule. What really caught our attention was the appreciation for those in service and to top it off all first responders, doc's and nurses get 20% their tab! This place is trying hard to be a positive source of engagement for first responders. The bartender is happy and cute. The building is interesting. There's a very limited menu of like three sandwiches. A couple people ordered them while we were there but I am not a sandwich person. The inside is nice the upstairs is kind of cool. There's a little bit of balcony you can look outside. This is off the beaten path so it's not going to attract many tourists. I think I would hang out here again. Prices were pretty good and 20% off for all first responders and military. read more

Cool little place with great drink specials and a solid pour. The theme is pretty cool, honoring military, police, ems, firefighters, etc. A nice feel for sure. The staff was super friendly and poured a good drink. It wasn't terribly busy and had plenty of seating. Pretty standard Key West hole-in-the-wall bar. Not a ton to say, but nothing negative. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Visited both days we were in Key West for vacation. Husband is a first responder so it seemed like a no-brainer to at least visit and drop off some patches but honestly had an amazing experience. Bartenders are incredible and also funny. This is a good time in Key West! I wouldn't miss it and I'm already planning our next trip just to visit again. Elaine especially knocked it out of the park. Can't wait to come back and see her and enjoy her delicious drinks. So happy this opened up in Key West! read more

Just have to love this place. A great 2 story building with live music That you can sample out on the sidewalk. There is a nice balcony upstairs. Going inside the staff is very personable and it is fun and lively. The entertainment and drinks were very good. read more

We'd been hearing about Heroes and decided to stop in for lunch and a couple of brews. Nice owner, very personable. Made you feel right at home immediately. This was about 2:00 pm on a Saturday. There was live music with some guy named Sean doing a solo act, who never tuned his guitar, and it needed it, and he apparently thought he was on stage at Carnegie Hall because he was LOUD--way too loud for the small little room even though it's open air. The day we went there the kitchen was closed because they hadn't been able to get food supplies they needed. I must say that was odd since they only have 4 items on their food menu. I really wanted to try the Jive Turkey. We were able to walk across the street to Mr. Z's and get sandwiches and bring them back to the bar to eat. We had two beers which came to $14.00 and we did not get a military discount (my husband is retired Navy). Not a very wide selection of beers, draft or bottle---mostly domestic, no craft beers. There is a second floor with another bar but even less space than the downstairs bar but with a small balcony that overlooks the street. Not sure if they have live music at both at the same time. Dog-friendly which is a big plus in Key West. read more

Not only are they serving the seated patrons and the 4 small nooks, they are also making drinks for the attached restaurant. There were a gazillion tickets coming out of the printer and servers standing on the other side of the window waiting. It's just not possible to serve everyone with just two bartenders. We waited about 10 minutes for service. The drinks were underwhelming for a speakeasy. Just your typical menu. What we ordered was okay. They just missed a great opportunity to create unique twists on classics or to have craft cocktails. Even the classics (which are perfect for a speakeasy) weren't that great. For a speakeasy, the drinks are the main event. Glad we tried it as we always seek out speakeasies. Wouldn't go again.

0 for experience. Writing this as I've left the bar 1/11/2025. Was in there with a gentleman who was a retired Chicago police officer who was extremely racist toward African American people leaving multiple racist slurs (the worst you can imagine). I'm a 24 year old male who has never experienced racism in my entire life. This individual made multiple remarks regarding African American individuals who walk this world like the rest of us. Visiting from another state we struck up a friendly conversation with the individual before realizing he was a full blown racist. After confronting him for these remarks with no aggressive intent the bartender with long hair in a bun called us out for causing problems in his bar. After kicking us out he proceeded to not address the problem and screamed at us to leave. Truly ashamed by the way the bartender handled the problem, proceeding to serve the racist individual. I am leaving this yelp review not only to call out folks like the racist police officer from Chicago but to leave a review on the bartender who did not address this problem that continues to ruin current civilization. I'd assume there is a way to take down this review in favor of the bar... but holy fuck I've never seen anything like this in my life causing me to download this app and leave the review. Shame on the bartender and shame on that man. That is not how life works anymore... I hope that man finds time to reflect and I hope that pony tailed bartender realizes that not everything is about selling $6 beers. Truthfully a terrible showing of people in the year of 2025. It is egregious for a bar that mainly services tourists in 2025 to protect patrons that are outwardly and violently racist. It could not have been a larger disappointment than to ring in 2025 by being asked to leave a bar protecting hateful and racist patrons. If you have any heart, you are better served walking by and supporting any other bar on the Duval strip. read more
