This shipping store is great! I have had two occasions to drop off packages here and they are beyond knowledgeable and friendly when interacting with customers. Amazon supplied a QR code but this store could not accept it and told us to go to the UPS center: UPS CC - FORT BRAGG 18101 OCEAN DR, FORT BRAGG, CA, 95437-9297 By no means try to go to this location found on UPS website: MENDO PACK & SHIP 44797 MAIN ST, MENDOCINO, CA, 95460 because it does not exist. A local told me that Coast Pack & Ship is a good place but apparently not if all you have is a QR code. read more

Living on the coast we probably order goods by mail more than people in less remote communities. Goods come in, goods go out. The folks at Coast Pack & Ship are great. They're super efficient, competent, knowledgeable and helpful. But more than that they're friendly. I've always thought of this place as my favorite attentive merchant/business here on the Mendocino Coast. This is to affirm it, because recently I walked in with a large awkward-sized, expensive, glassed, and framed art print for shipment. Long story short, Brenda did an amazing job of getting it packed up, and it reached its destination two states north of us safe and sound. I had a very poor experience dropping off some pre-labeled returns here. I waited in line for 30 minutes which is not their fault (the man ahead of me was sending 10 different large packages all over the world) but when I got to the counter they told me they charge a $1 per package fee for prelabeled packages. I found this odd as returns are paid for but it's a small town store and this is only a $2 charge so I obliged and attempted to pay. I only had credit cards and debit cards with me and was told they need cash as it's not worth their time to accept a credit card because of the fees even when they have a sign saying they accept Amex/visa/discover etc. I offered to go get cash from the bank (again it's $2) but asked if I could leave my packages while I ran out. The clerk told me to "just get out" and that she didn't need my money. She sent the packages and didn't charge me but the interaction was very odd and I didn't receive a receipt or any form of tracking confirmation. I like supporting small businesses like this one, but I would not recommend sending your packages here as they clearly are very rude and do not value their customers. read more

I cannot thank this company enough for their service. A room-sized air purifier was left behind at a local hotel and Esmeralda kindly offered to have it picked up and then shipped to me. This saved me from a 6-hour round trip drive to pick it up myself. The package arrived the very next day. It was extremely well packed and arrived safely. Trustworthy and efficient, and friendly. I opened an account with them renting a mailbox and a storage unit. I had to put down a deposit on both the box and unit. I paid my bill on time each month. When I cancelled my accounts I was told that they had to let the home office know so that they could refund my deposit on the storage unit. I was also told that they would withhold the deposit for the mailbox in case I had any mail that needed to be forwarded. I waited a month before I called to ask about the storage unit deposit and even then it took another week to get the check. I just got a call from them the other day telling me that I needed to come there to get some mail that I have there and that it would cost me money to get that mail. When I cleared out the storage unit I left it cleaner than it was when I moved into it, and I paid for a full month and left it half way through. I was renting a storage unit for $79/month but wanted to move to a smaller unit to save money. They had a $39 unit available but it was raining cat's and dogs so it would have been a miserable day to move all my stuff so I asked if I could rent the unit that day and make the move the next day. They told me no, if I wanted to rent the smaller unit I would have to rent them both which would have cost me $120. I asked if I would get that money back when I moved my stuff and they said NO! I would loose the money I paid into the bigger unit. I went back the next day to rent the smaller unit and it was already rented. They don't have any way for people who have no car to get out if the walking gate is locked. This business is one to avoid at ALL COST!!! Pardon the language but these folks are real scumbags. read more

Such a great, helpful store! We bought entirely too much wine during a wine tour and had to figure out how to get the wine back east without drinking it all on the last day. My husband and I have a small business which requires sending out very fragile and expensive items through the mail. We have asked Coast and Ship to do the packaging for us as we are both seniors and find the packaging hard to do. The staff here has been excellent! We have not had one thing break. We stopped here at the end of a trip to wine county, while driving the Pacific Coast Highway. We knew that we had more wine than we were comfortable carrying in a suitcase, and wanted to talk about options for packing a box of it to check as luggage. The lady there was so helpful! Although there were wine boxes and packing for purchase, she instead gave us a used box and packing that had been left by a previous customer. Rather than have us purchase a roll of tape to seal it shut, she provided tape from the store's supply. She even helped us to get it all packed and sealed. She wouldn't accept a tip, so leaving a great Yelp review is the only way to thank her. read more
