This Albion grocery and liquor is the only store within miles of the AirBnB we had booked and the store turned out to be a life saver on more than one occasion during our stay. From milk to bourbon, we were there shopping for even our propane tanks for the BBQ grill. Decent and friendly service, but with prices marked up in line with the remoteness . But a saving grace nonetheless. read more

This place has everything you could possibly need! Their prices are pretty high so I'm hoping they offer some type of local discount. Definitely convenient though if you don't want to drive to fort Bragg. They even have Indian food on Saturday and Sunday and the samosa's were delicious! read more

Cute little store. Has a deli (open from 7a to 6p) with a variety of items though didn't have a lot when we were there -- suspect COVID times affected this. Full stop for snacks, wine, etc. Prices aren't bad for most items. Staff are very nice and friendly. Only store in Albion. Bigger market is in Mendocino. read more

This place advertises "Organic Espresso & Mochas" on its website, inspiring me to drive 10 mins in torrential downpour from our vacation rental so that I could have a latte rather than a homemade drip coffee. Upon arrival, I was informed they do not serve anything of the sort. The woman working there said she's asked management repeatedly to remove that information so that she doesn't have to keep disappointing people. Bummer! read more

This sweet grocery store with helpful and friendly owners is a place that spoke to me. Local coffees and wines, plenty of staples, and even two gas pumps! You can't go wrong here. We believe in supporting small businesses where we can. This is one of those places. read more

Great Coastal Community Grocery store for when you're in the middle of nowhere in a town with population ~ less than 200! Also a cafe/deli right next door attached to grocery store. Sadly this is the only grocery store in the town of Albion. They're over priced. I suggest you go into Fort Bragg and do your grocery shopping at Safeway or harvest or have groceries with you when you're on your way up. read more

I live locally in Albion and must say we all love this store and it's owners. It has a little bit of everything. The deli has a wonderful selection of sandwiches and Indian food on Saturdays. They have everything from samosas and cold beer to fishing gear, toothpaste, toys for kids, camping stuff, you name it! It's a well stocked little store. read more

Cute local store with a great deli. All the workers there were nice and the prices are reasonable.

The shelves are stocked with a good variety but much of it is outdated. We we're going to purchase something but saw it had expired two years ago. Of course the prices are high, and that is to be expected, but at least things should be current and edible. The staff are not very friendly either. read more

The perfect small-town grocery store. They stock at least one of everything, including a solid selection of organic produce, a great selection of premium chocolate, and even meatless products such as Tofurkey. Wine and liquor are expensive here, but at least they're here--Fort Bragg's grocery stores are 30 minutes away. They also sell gas and propane at prices that are reasonable considering the store's remote location. (It's like booze: when you reeeeaally need it, you don't mind paying a premium.) The service is great, and the deli makes swell sandwiches and has a variety of tasty baked goods, including some from Costeaux Bakery in Healdsburg. And the local color is priceless. read more

This is your typical rural, off-the-road grocery store. More like a convenience store, a third the size of 7-Eleven. Here, you'll find your basics, with limited supplies of produce. There were a few boxes of old Brentwood corn, but not much else. We stopped here for a bag of ice as we were heading north along Highway One. It was a couple bucks, not too overpriced. read more

We stopped at this market to get supplies for our mini vacation in Albion. I guess I take it for granted that products in a grocery store/market will be fresh. The cookies we bought tasted off so I checked the date on the bottom of the package, there was a 'best buy' date of September 2018! The cereal had a 'best buy' date of December 2018. We were there in mid July 2019. We also bought some meat which had expired in April 2019, not sure how we missed that because we do check dates on meat products, but still, 3 months past the 'use by' date is a bit much. We were able to return the meat but not the other products since we had already opened them. The staff was eager to say hello but when we asked questions at the deli counter they really didn't reply to us. One employee was looking at his phone, looked up at us when we asked our question and then returned to his phone! Positives were the cashier who checked us out, he was very friendly and talkative and the store has a great selection of products. However, be sure to be very diligent in checking the 'use by' and 'best buy' dates on all their products. There is another market up the road, north, that was much better and they have sandwiches too. read more

We stopped in for some groceries while doing a weekend vacation rental nearby. The new owners are a young couple who told me they'd owned some stores in Healdsburg until buying this place. Very friendly folks, and a good place to stop for essentials. Decent wine and beer selection, a deli for sandwiches, and a modest espresso bar. Most interesting, the room next door also sells lots of kids' toys, greeting cards, and even supplies for (presumably) abalone divers. read more

I love this little store. You can choose from 30 different delicious types of chocolate, get basic groceries, household supplies, and deli items. As a bonus, you will also find handmade gifts, teeshirts, and dive gear! Yes, I bought my dive gloves here! Very pleasant staff. The store is also a bit of a town center, hosting the town bulletin board. I sometimes go here when I get bored and lonely. Its a nice place just to get an ice-cream bar and find someone to talk to! read more

This little, off the highway store, is better than a 7-11. Lots of produce, lots of local fish, fresh crabs, and homemade foods if you don't want to cook.. This is a family owned store, for a couple generations, and they are loved by all the locals. They have unique gifts, they have wine from Napa, Sonoma, and local vineyards. The prices are higher because it takes more gasoline to get there. The store is for sale. If I had the money, I would buy it. read more

This little grocery has some of the highest prices on the coast, even for a small store. Their employees (with 1 exception) are generally rude and can't be bothered to help or even answer questions. Sort of a lose/lose situation. read more
