Customer Service needs improvement. There is housekeeping service even we stayed for two days. We were given two bath towels and three hangers for two-day stay. I drove to that and 2 lady checked Me in I had to drive back to other locations about 5_7 blocks away. Got my room it was tiny. Super plain. A box with a TV and small bath. A ceiling fan. For the past ten years i've booked a room at Coast River when I come to Seaside, OR. The three times i've come this year alone my experience has been not so great. From a bathroom door that didn't close to a clean room with dirty towels on the floor instead of clean ones. I tried to use the shower this morning before packing up and checking out and I had no hot or warm water. The quality of this place has gone down over the years. We stayed a few nights here in Seaside in Fall 2024. -- it is "Coast River Inn", but also is now affiliated with Oyo (a national chain of affordable motels). I think they did some very modest spruce ups (basic paint, etc) in the past year. I was happy with the stay. The price was competitive. It was basic accommodations, but clean and reasonably well maintained. The front desk was friendly, and they were sure to give my dog a treat. It is a pet-friendly hotel (modest fee), but the cleaning crew did a good job and I wouldn't know that there were pets there except for my own pup. read more

Made reservation through Expedia last minute after not expecting to need to stay somewhere. No where on the booking did it say what time the hotel closed or to call after a specific time. Paid for booking and showed up to find out they had closed but found a number on the door to call after 10:00 pm. Called the number and told the lady that answered that I had made the reservation online and we had just showed up she responded with "we closed at 10" I said "ok" and she hung up. I called back and she was extremely rude, was sighing and her tone was as if I was completely ruining her night. I apologize on the phone and told her we were there and didn't know that had closed at a certain time and she sighed again and told me she'd be there in a few minutes. I don't book hotels often and tried not to need one on this trip but to be met with such a rude employee was an experience I didn't expect. Perfectly functional motel-style inn, within walking distance of the beach and the promenade. No views of said beach, obviously, but if you're booking a room this far away from the shore, you're doing it for the price, not convenience, right? Pet-friendly ($15 fee per pup, up to two), which is a big plus for my wife and I; we might be able to get rid of the kids for a weekend getaway, once in a while, but its harder with a diabetic pupper who needs regular medication, so any place that allows our furry friends wins big points in my book! As for the room, it was clean and surprisingly spacious, but sparsely furnished, but contains a mini-fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, hair dryer, and all the other usual amenities. Laminate floors, as expected for dog-proofing, in case of "accidents". The bed itself was firm but comfortable; the pillows were wonderful, to the point of almost being stolen and taken home! The shower was similarly large, and there was no shortage of hot water. In short, the Coast River Inn is an excellent choice for the budget traveler, pet owners, and even large parties, as there is more than enough room to spare. No pool or hot tub, but who needs them when the (admittedly freezing cold) ocean is a couple minutes walk away? It's not a resort hotel, so use it only for its intended purpose (sleeping), and you won't be disappointed; it'll do the job just fine! read more

Rooms aren't bad for the price. Clean, a few chips and scuffs here and there, but overall nice. Bed was super comfortable, and finally, an actual TV in a hotel room that is big enough to see!! Instant hot water and great shower. Only two things that would put me off, is no AC. Wouldn't recommend for summer because of this, but we're here the first week of October and it's great with the window open. Second, the ice machine is at the sister hotel. Yes, you can get to it by walking thru the alley and the parking lot, but it seems like it would be more cost effective to have a machine at each site. Other than that, great place for the price. Very disappointed. We were on the second floor, no elevator. Had to drag stuff up a flight of stairs. Very basic room painted gray, bright blue, & orange, no air conditioning. This hotel is very disappointing. While it is in a great location, there is not much else going for it. When we arrived to the property we had to wait 30 min for someone to show up so we could check in, even though we checked in during their "open" hours. We never once had a warm shower it was always cold. They have a sign in the bathrooms that say to wait 20 min in between showers, but that made no difference. There was also black mold growing in the bathroom. Our room never had cleaning service while we there. We had to empty our own garbages and go to the office for clean towels. In the kitchenette appliances were out of order. We paid over $400 per night for this room and it was absolutely disgusting. There are much nicer places to stay in Seaside for that price. read more

Stayed two nights at the Coast River Inn while visiting the Oregon Coast. Very convenient and staying in Seaside was not as expensive as staying at some of the other towns. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were firm and there was a desk with a chair in case you need to get some work done. The wifi was consistent and strong. There were sufficient towels, a microwave, and a refrigerator with a freezer in the room, so everything was great! The only thing I didn't care for was that the shampoo and body wash were in big dispensers attached to the shower wall; my personal preference is for individual bottles, including conditioner and bar soap! There are several eateries within walking distance, so it's really convenient. This is a place I would use again! read more

Took my kids here for my daughters birthday. We don't get the privilege to take vacation often- so when we do I try my best to make it enjoyable for my Family. The staff were friendly. The room was awful for paying over $400 for 2 nights. Huge stains in the bed. Lights didn't work. Big holes in the screen door. Tables and chairs covered in rust. Drawer fronts and handles missing. Stains all over the chairs. I called the customer service directly after the visit and they told me to send an email. They gave me the wrong email address. I called to follow up 4 weeks later and they told me "I took too long to complain". I was appalled- if I were the owner of this hotel I would highly consider a different management company. Oyo was not helpful in addressing my concerns and I will not be returning. read more

After checking in here we stayed at the City Centre Motel owned by OYO location towards the Prom and it was a terrible experience. Despite being one of the cheapest around, this property was way too hot with no air conditioning in the height of summer, and we could hear everything through the walls. Other people in their rooms, maintenance drilling into the walls, roofers across the street. Inconveniently, there was no 2nd side table by the bed and no counter space in the bathroom, which made simply charging our phones or having water near us a hassle. The exterior of the property was dirty and we faced the garbage cans/parking lot of an apartment complex which was not great to smell and hear people in the parking lot early in the morning. Overall, I appreciated their flexibility in letting us stay an additional night at a discounted Expedia price, but I would not book here again. read more

Spider infested, loud running refrigerator next to the bed, black hair clumps on the shower walls, and an exploding hair dryer! We have stayed here a handful of times between 2018 and 2022. Our first few stays were quite wonderful as we had a view of the river and the rooms were kept nice. Post Covid we were excited to come back for another stay. The grounds weren't as nicely kept which was understandable considering we were just coming out of Covid. First morning waking up and getting in the shower was the worst. I hung my scrunchie from its suction cup on the shower wall and got in the shower. When I lattered up my scrunchie and begin washing I realized I was covered in clumps of black hair! GROSS! (I am blond, so not mine). I jumped out of the shower gathered up all the disgusting shower hair that was stuck to the shower walls in a wash cloth and showed the front desk. They seemed unfazed and offered us a discount on our next stay I guess I am forgiving because I decided to try this place one more time thinking it must've been post Covid that made it difficult to provide decent service. On our last stay (8/2022) even though our room says it has a river view, the shrubs and trees are so overgrown that you can no longer really see the river from your deck (1st floor, rm. 3) The refrigerator that is right next to our bed loudly ran all night long. This room also seems to be infested with spiders as there was a family in almost every corner and cupboard in this room. Not only was the water pressure severely low making it impossible to rinse shampoo from your hair , but my shower walls were again covered in clumps of black hair. To make matters worse, when I went to blow dry my hair the blow dryer started popping and sparking and then gave out. In addition, the amenities were well below minimum basic hotel standards. Our room was furnished with only one bedside table, a broken hairdryer, no iron or ironing board, no blanket, minimal cooking utensils, and they got rid of their icemaker on this end , so you now have to walk a block to the other hotel location to get ice. Needless to say, we had to forgo our second paid night here and pay for a new hotel. What a nightmare and so disheartening, as this was a cute, fun place to stay with a river view, once upon a time. Without a shadow of a doubt, I will not be back. read more

I will start with the good things that I liked about the hotel just to be fair and balanced. That side of the hotel was trendy and updated. It had a seaside kind of hipster feel. I liked how close the hotel was to the main Promenade on Broadway. It was probably about 3 to 4 blocks away. Easily within walking distance. Also, with the bikes that they offered as complementary, I think it would be a nice day to borrow bikes and explore. The inn offered parking spots close to almost every outdoor entrance to rooms. This made packing in and out really easy. Quite honestly, I couldn't wait to pack out! Now, the things I didn't like. I'm going to start off by saying that the pictures posted online did not match our room at all. I understand that rooms that are featured in photos are often not the ones that are provided. However, I wasn't expecting the king suite. I was expecting an economy room. But I feel this stay was WAY under every expectation I had. I didn't think that having no AC in the room was going to be a problem, but with 99% humidity that day, it definitely was. Sleeping was next to impossible. A fan was offered, but it was a small oscillating desk fan. I moved it from the desk to the open window, but I didn't feel safe leaving the window open wide on through the night considering that our room was backed up against an alley. Across the little alley, there were screened back porches belonging to other people's homes. I got up quite a few times just to leave the front door open to let the breeze in that was facing the ocean, but kept having to close it as it seemed that locals would pass through the hotels' parking lot. No water was offered, which wasn't a big deal, but the front desk lady offered no apologies that it wasn't an amenity offered. When asked if there was water (bottled or fountain) she laughed and said "it's at Safeway." One of our pillows had a blood stain on it. We brought it to the front office to switch it out but never received a new one like promised or an apology. The floor was SO filthy. Not sandy.... DIRTY. Our kids' feet were black 10 mins after exiting showers. We put socks on them in the super hot uncomfortable room because I'd rather them sleep clean than dirty. The front desk attendants wore masks, but wore them improperly under their noses. This was funny considering there were like 5 signs posted outside the office about how wearing a mask was mandatory, or it was considerate and kind to mask up, or a requirement of use hand sanitizer before entering. We called ahead to let them know that we were arriving late and they informed us that their turn around time with room cleaning was running late, that was fine as we were not there. read more

Very clean and large rooms. No AC but you don't really need it here even in summer. We opened the window and it cooled the room down in the evening quite a bit. They have provided fans too but we didn't need it. Beds were good - not too soft and not too hard. Good pillow (rarity). Very quiet. Alright location close to things. Spacious motel near Seaside's downtown core. We stayed in a "river view" room with front row sights of the placid Necanicum River. The motel has bikes to borrow and you can ride up and down "the prom" and through downtown. The rooms are comfy with nice linens and pillows. Came here for an impromptu trip to Canon Beach through Airbnb. Thy e two bedded room was priced at around $70-$80 a night which was a bargain in comparison to the other rooms in the surround area. After taxes and some cleaning fees which is a catch with Airbnb - each night came out to roughly $120 - plus another $15 a night if you bring your pet along. There are two separate sections of the inn, one that is painted orange by the leasing office and the other black that I was worried we were going to be placed into. The leasing office personnel is friendly and have pretty much anything you expect in case of emergencies (ex: plastic utensils, a pen, and a keurig machine which you can fix yourself a coffee in the mornings). While this airbnb is more like a hotel/ motel like resort there is no breakfast served on location. The room was pretty clean and looked as though the cleaning staff put effort into making sure everything looked pristine. For a 15 minute ride to Cannon Beach, this was good hotel to stay in - there aren't a crazy amount of attractions in the seaside area town, so I suggest making a day trip to Tillamook where there are some more touristy things. read more

My wife and I got room here for an overnight adventure to Seaside in late July. The room came with all the amenities: tv, cable, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave. It had all these amazing features, but it lacked Air conditioning. The room was sweltering. Easily a full 10 degrees hotter than the outdoor temperature. Which during the day doesn't matter because we were out and about doing all the things seaside had to offer. But at night when we wanted to sleep it was miserable. Also the toilet was super low profile. I don't know about everyone else, but for a big guy like myself that is not good thing. I got the room because it had all those amenities listed and just assumed there would be AC. So it is my bad. I wouldn't choose this place again because of that. But honestly. The room was clean. It was affordable. It was close to downtown. It was walking distance from the beach. The staff were super friendly and there was plenty of parking. It's a good place to stay. Maybe bring a box fan to put in the window, just in case. read more

I think 3.5 stars is fair for this hotel I'm going to bump it up to 4 since we can't give half stars. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the beach and the kitschy downtown area. The room was spacious, the bed seemed a bit old and not the most comfortable, and I found someone else's bra under it so clearly they don't do the best job cleaning but it didn't feel dirty. Caution to potential reservation makers. If you book through the service they use, if you have to cancel no matter the reason, in our case a family emergency, you only get 70% of what you paid so 30% of what you charged stays somewhere even thought you were provided with nothing. I canceled several days ahead of our reservation and the person assisting with the cancelation even indicated I MIGHT get back my entire $225 since I can canceling well ahead of time. However, when I noticed the refund to my credit card if was $157 + change. Disgraceful. I would only use Booking.Com or Expedia to book and I would never book again at Coast River Inn in Seaside again. read more

place was okay generally. i do question the wisdom of having a jetted tub in a bathroom without a cent fan but i guess they have their reasons. reasonably clean. tv setup is labyrinthine (sp?) we gave up and pretty much left it on disney for the baby. there are two things and they really kinda cast a pall on the entire experience. first, the whole place had a kind of creepy aging swinger vibe this time which either wasnt there or we didnt notice last time. at one point i swear there was a couple doing it in their car in the parking lot who then insulted me for smoking cause "there are kids here!" like yeah okay boomer. the other and the really big one is the person at the desk who would themselves stand outside the office smoking was super rude and sneary every time they saw me. and like "you have to turn in your towels to get more" have been to so many hotels and ive never heard that one before. we bought our own toilet paper cause we just didnt want to deal with that person again. yeah so were looking for a generally less bigotty beachy place any ideas? with relatively inexpensive hotels of course. read more

I made reservations months ago before the holiday summer rate hike through Expedia for June 4, 2022 and July 3, 2022 to July 5, 2022. Both reservations were cancelled by Oyo Coast River Inn without informing Expedia or me. I called the OYo Coast River Inn today (one week before the first reservation) to confirm and was told my reservations were cancelled without any explanation. I had to contact Expedia who confirmed my reservation and called the Coast River Inn. Coast River Inn told Expedia there were no rooms available and the reservations were cancelled. Neither Coast River Inn nor Expedia did anything to fix the issue. I can't imagine how it would feel to show up and not have a place to stay. My family could have been stranded there without a place to stay on a holiday weekend. Such a nightmare experience. read more

Soo, MONTHS, yes literally after my visit here I was finally refunded. It took multiple and by that I mean like 20-30+ calls, each time they assured me I was getting the refund within 7-10 business days. Tired of the company stating it was a booking.com issue and so forth. Your the company make your word right within the time frame you stated you would. PERIOD! NO ONE should have had to wait this long to get their money back! And NO ONE should have had to make as many calls as I had to for my refund. I have to give a positive, because any issues we had were changed and fixed immediately. We finally landed a room after the third time of being moved, behind the office. It was winter (this January) and during the week, and the heat worked. I think it would have been miserable in summer, if you were on the ground floor not being able to have hour door open. It was Pet Friendly. I found it extremely odd that when you called the "front desk" there wasn't necessarily someone there on site late at night. It was like it was a dispatch when you pressed zero. I found out that the help worked two hotels in the area. We didn't have any problems, the room was clean and what interaction with staff was pleasant. But my neighbors down the hall had a lot of traffic. Noticed when going out on my ground floor back porch, that there were a lot of shady characters walking around there in the dark on the road headed to the beach. I didn't feel unsafe, but I always double checked to make sure everything was locked. Next morning, cops were at the hotel looking for the people who had stayed there. I can't say if I would recommend this place, I got a good price for being there in winter. This place was the right price. The room was nice and big, comfy loveseat and there was a little fridge and microwave. The bed was pretty comfy for me but the right side seemed broken somehow, it was very squeaky and didn't seem to hold up like it should. The room was clean and the linens on the bed were clean. The colors in the room were nice. The headboard paint was chipped off and the bathroom door was somewhat hard to close. I didn't use the ice machine, but I think it is the kind that you open and scoop ice out. I saw it and wasn't interested in scooping out ice (seems like it has the potential to get pretty dirty inside). The location wasn't bad. It was just a few blocks away from the beach and a little bit further to get to the downtown shopping area. I was there while it was pretty rainy so I didn't want to walk in the rain, but it would have been totally walkable. read more

We had stayed at this place the year before, so rebooked based on our first pleasant experience. It's nothing special, but it's a good location. This time, we booked the room about four months in advance, so it wasn't a last minute booking by any means. Day of the trip down to Seaside, we get a call about 30 minutes before we're scheduled to arrive telling us that the booking had been canceled. Imagine our shock and disappointment at being dumped at the last minute just before arriving, forcing us to rebook at another hotel which cost us an additional $350. In a strange twist, the hotel manager called us about two hours later to see if we were still planning to arrive!!! I explained to her that the corporate office had both emailed and called us to cancel and we were forced to book another hotel last minute. The manager was apologetic but offered no compensation. I may seek the difference in our costs in small claims...how deceptive and disorganized a company must be to pull this trick on its customers (I'm sure it's happened repeatedly). Avoid this hotel at all costs, their tactics seem really dodgy to me; and if they even attempt to charge me for my room, I will be seeking more that just my hotel fare back from them. read more

This motel was nice! Oregon is winning for having nice, pet-friendly motels. Upon check-in the man working the front desk was SO nice. We originally got keys that didn't work and he was so apologetic (not necessary - I wasn't mad!! haha) but he called maintenance to fix the door and they were there within 5 minutes and fixed it shortly after. The room looked like a studio apartment, complete with a full size fridge, stovetop, microwave, etc. If staying for longer, you could certainly cook and prepare meals there! They did have several dishes available for our use, however, they seemed quite dirty so I would recommend washing them before use (at least in the unit we had!) The room was clean and had a nice outdoor patio. Unfortunately, it was way too cold to sit out there, but during summer months it would be very nice. As a said before, these rooms are pet-friendly (with a $10 per pet per night fee). A small complaint is that there isn't much grass for pets to go potty and you have to cross the street to find a spot. This is me nit picking, overall was great for pets! read more
