Surprised to find out we knew Sarah at the front desk from years ago when she lived in our small town of Hoodsport, WA. She is really helpful and can even tell you about places to visit in town. We used to stay on the top 5th floor but now we have a dog so we stay on the second floor where pets are allowed. Our 9 year old loves the swimming pool but only when nobody else is there because it gets a little wild for her. We love the lady at the restaurant her name is Debbie. She has a really good memory and remembers people and what they order. The restaurant is extremely good. We get the breakfast burrito, and the French toast. Our daughter says the bagel is better than most bagels. The manager walks around being helpful to employees and he checks on guests. He says hi, asks how people are and everyone seems happy. We really like the layout of the hotel and the parking lot. The access to the beach is excellent and the front desk has things like beach chairs and sand toys to borrow. The rooms are always very nice with more than enough amenities for us. read more

Nice location to stay in Seaside. Everyone room has either a direct or partial view of the ocean from the balconies. The pool and soaking tub (a hot tub without jets) were a nice amenity to have to recover from a day full of hiking and exploring the outdoors. This hotel is gorgeous. The amount of cute little detail they put into all the towel art was my daughters favorite part. The walk is easy to get the beach. The view on our deck was nice. We saw tons of whales and lots of baby seagulls. Beds were very comfortable and the room has a very nice size closet. Perfect for a long family vacation. This hotel has a great location looking right out on the Pacific and the Seaside promenade. Unfortunately it seriously needs a remodel. It is quite old and out of date. We couldn't even log in to Netflix on the TV, no coffee pot in the room, etc. The employees were lovely however and made us feel welcome. We only spent one night on our road trip. Worse experience of my life, had to work with their manager who was super rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Had to report her to best western corporate. Rooms were moldy, bedspread had a stain on it, none of the guard rails are up to code so if you have a young child hold on to them. Even the balconies are not to code and are super dangerous to any family. We thought this would be a great place to come to again we this was our first time but never again not worth the money read more

When we got to the room the toilet was bubbling (we hadn't used it yet). A very nice woman was sent up to plunge and snake the toilet, she worked incredibly hard for an hour and couldn't dislodge whatever had been flushed. At this point the room had smelled awful. We called the office and the woman at the desk told us we were going to have to leave because they had no other rooms. This was at 11 pm and it was just me and my two kids. I asked her if she could help me find a room or if she had any advice as where to go. She said we'll theres another hotel right behind us. We drove around for an hour looking for a hotel, everyone was booked because there was a pageant going on. We ended up finding a place a ways away. I feel that this place should have some sort of back up plan incase an emergency like this happens. Just sending a woman and her two children away in an unfamiliar place late at night can be very dangerous. read more

Considering it's a Best Western it is huge. Place was clean and quiet for the most part. Rooms were nice, but way overpriced. Ive been in all 4 corners of the country, and stayed at a few hotels. My family and I have spent many summers in Hampton Beach in New Hampshire The rooms are more reasonably priced which I find surprising. The ladies working the desk couldn't smile if their lives depended on it. The backbone of the establishment were very polite. Serving the correct rooms as requested would be great. My husband is disabled and you cannot get out to the ocean so I have requested an ocean, but I got an ocean room facing the.dunes. The manager could have put it into an ocean view room and corrected the problem. But instead, they wanted to charge us another $200 to go to an ocean view room so we went to the hotel next-door and got an ocean view room for less than what we paid at best Western plus in Seaside Oregon. I really enjoyed my stay here. The front desk staff were very kind and welcoming. All of the entries to the rooms are from the outside which I appreciated because you could hear the ocean as you walked around. The room itself was very clean. My room had a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The bed was comfortable. They have a restaurant on site of the hotel. However, this location is a short walk from the main street that has restaurants, gift shops, and video arcade. read more

So, here's my take! We got there for our Honeymoon, and it was OKAY at best. We got booked in the second floor right off the elevator and the family next to us were very loud, also kept their door open all the time, but when you're trying to sleep, it made the walls feel paper thin! So we ended up talking to the front desk and they were VERY helpful! They let us know they couldn't change anything that night but since we were staying there for 3-4 days, they would the next morning. They gave us a voucher for free breakfast at their ocean cafe for the next morning. Then the next morning they moved us to a corner room on the 5th floor and the view was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The room was better, the view was better, they also threw in the romance package for free for us. They didn't get to add the rose pedals which is okay, but had some beautiful swans and wine. We used to stay here once a year, always getting a hot tub room. Hadn't been back in a few years but decided to give it a try because most of the better hotels were booked. Remembering the barely-usable wi-fi and general condition of the hotel in years past made me a little wary. I needn't have worried. The wi-fi now does a nice 120+ mbit down/80 mbit up, which is great for a wi-fi connection. The exterior of the hotel is freshly painted green, a nice change. Our room had a big-screen (at least 50") TV, basic cable, and it was easy to access the HDMI input on the back. Overall we were pleased. Honestly though, I don't think I would stay here if not in a (fairly expensive) hot tub room, there is nothing really special about the property otherwise other than the nice ocean view. A couple of minor issues: when you check-in they ask what time you would like housekeeping each morning, then they ignore whatever you told them. Also, our sliding glass balcony door was very difficult to lock. I complained and was told maintenance would look into it. I don't think they did. The restaurant is nothing special, just order-at-the-counter breakfast and a very limited dinner menu, mostly pizza. It was closed for dinner for most of our stay anyway. Staffing issues. We may stay here again someday when booking at the last minute. read more

Hood to Coast race was happening the same weekend so the prices for the rooms were exorbitantly high. $400/night for a room and it's a older hotel with not great amenities. No free breakfast but they did have a bakery downstairs ( I wasn't impressed). Free parking. Walking distance to the beach. The room had an older odor. I would check out "Saltline" next time. The ocean view rooms have a great view. Our partial ocean view also had a great view of the beach and ocean. The ceiling fan in our ocean view king wouldn't start, until 2am when it suddenly turned on, sounding like the shower scene in Psycho. The breakfast is not free and very limited in options. We have stayed here multiple times. This place gets better each and every stay. Some of amenities add to it. This trip we have a King, jacuzzi tub with premiere ocean view and fireplace. Love it! Management is the best. We just got the lay down of all the rules to include NO SMOKING !!! The lady below us was smoking and it smelled so bad. We called and asked if it was ok to do so on balcony - the reply we got was "absolutely not! We will take care of that right away!" Best Western has been good to us for the last 10 years. The rooms were immaculate. The shower was AWESOME! Great shower head (spa like) & great water pressure!! Cute cafe on premise with good food & service. We came here for a mother-daughter trip, as my mother is starting to go blind and eventually will not be able to see at all and they made our experience AH-MAZING! RESTAURANTS: Mo's has great food, atmosphere & service. Angelina's Pizzeria has excellent pizza & they deliver. Best pizza we've ever had. Doogers: Excellent service, food & scratch made key lime pie & other desserts. SALONS: highly recommend Shear Pleasure Salon. 10 stars! Excellent customer service, good vibes & nice job doing our pedicure & Mani! We both would definitely drive 3 hours to come here again!! We DON'T recommend: Salon on Broadway. This was my first trip to the Oregon coast alone so I wanted a clean, comfortable and relatively inexpensive hotel. The last time I stayed at this property was at least 15 years ago. Obviously it's changed dramatically since then, but I wish I could say that the changes were for the better. The complete opposite is true. I reserved an economy room and when I went to check in, I was asked if I wanted an upgrade b/c I was staying three nights and the economy rooms are apparently extremely small. The charge was $150, and I was told it was oceanfront so I agreed. Normally I don't (and I never will again) get a room on the first floor (at a chain hotel anyway- because of security, noise, etc), but I made an exception for the ocean front. Unfortunately because of the grass and so forth that sits in front of the beach, the only way I could actually see the ocean from my room was through binoculars and even then it was a very distant view. My problem with the room was that being on the ground floor, there were people constantly walking past the hotel on the prom, but I felt like they could see right into my room, which meant that I kept the shades pulled 99% of the time. Even when I went on my balcony I felt like I was being watched. I didn't feel safe in this room at all; especially at night, even when I locked the sliding glass door and put the bar across it. Anyone could have jumped over the flimsy railing and broken in. Having the curtains closed made it worse because I wouldn't have been able to see if someone had been trying to get in. The first night was okay and I decided to put up with it, but both mornings I was awakened by obnoxious dogs who barked repeatedly (before 8am) along with laughing, yelling, slamming doors, etc). My room (110) was just down the hall from the door that led to the beach (hence the noise), which was very annoying and at one point, the barking dog scared me so bad when it woke me up that my heart was racing. The second night, I decided to leave my room for a second to get ice from the machine across the hall. I had no shoes on and had wet hair and when I went back to the room, my key no longer worked. I had to get the front desk people to open my room with a master key and it turned out after several attempts to fix it, that the electric mechanism in the door was broken. I was told to call maintenance the next morning and have them fix it. So the next morning, I planned to out for a few hours, but I knew that if I left my room I wouldn't be able to get back in, so I called the front desk and explained about the maintenance. I had seriously considered checking out a day early and going with my original lodging location, but decided to stick it out. I talked to the same person at the front desk who had given me the upgrade and asked if there was another room on a higher floor. She said that one was available on the fourth floor. It turns out that this room was exactly like room 110 (Fireplace, kitchen, microwave, fridge, very spacious, Murphy bed) except it had a REAL ocean view. I really appreciate the efforts that this hotel made in making my stay better. I wish that I had been told that pets are allowed only on the first three floors because I believe that I did ask about a high floor when I originally made my reservation, but the obnoxious barking dogs were the last straw. I also tried the cafe and found it to be just mediocre. I planned on getting a real breakfast but this place is so overpriced. Come on, really? $15 for chocolate chip pancakes and no sides? I ended up ordering a grilled cheese and fries off the kids' menu but was disappointed that it had pepper jack cheese. Normally it's just cheddar or American. I also ordered a side of bacon and the total was $12. I had water from what they called their water bar (a dispenser of ice water and some small glasses). Definitely would not eat at this restaurant again, although to be fair I did get a 10% discount for staying at the hotel. I was very happy to see that the pool was open, because I really expected it to be closed as a lot of hotel pools are. I used it twice and one day I went at time when it was completely empty so I had the place to myself. It was really nice and relaxing. So basically this hotel is not at all worth what I paid. The staff is nice and helpful and I think they genuinely want their guests to be happy. However, this place really needs a lot of work. That being said, I won't be staying here again and more than once I regretted choosing this place over the place I wanted to stay, but the location is great; near the end of the prom and the beach is just steps away. read more

I asked to change rooms and was told I could not, and to check back tomorrow Update: They moved us to the fifth floor which had amazing views for our second night stay. We had booked the hotel using credit card rewards, which the 6am front desk woman said was the issue (although we did call and speak directly to the hotel before we booked it). Just wanted to say how beyond grateful and thankful we are for this wonderful hotel and especially the staff and management for making our trip unforgettable. We came to celebrate my dad's great news from the doctor after having cancer for over seven years two different type, how he was diagnosed with stage four multiple myeloma cancer and he went through so much and his last 6 1/2 years and the doctor finally said that he is 100% cancer free right now after all the treatments and prayers and we came on a little getaway to celebrate that with our little family as my husband is also deployed in serving. The manager Mark Hopman went above and beyond and even gave us a room up grade . To ocean view bigger room and it was just amazing and wonderful. Everybody was so kind and thoughtful and very helpful in all areas and made our trip so smooth and pleasant.. We are just beyond grateful and thankful. We will definitely be returning back to this wonderful hotel and recommend it to all our friends and family. It is very clean. The food is absolutely delicious at the restaurant. I was freely upgraded from a Queen Non-View Room to a Double Queen Mountain View on the 5th floor (#521), I've attached photos and the view was like a dream. And this was very appreciated. However, I do have "reservations" about this hotel and the industry as a whole. I'll list them here: 1. Change your name, it's misleading. You are not a resort, and all your rooms do not boast a view. Hotel rooms are just not a thing you want to oversell through nomenclature, photos, or any other means. Be in the business of managing expectations. 2. While this hotel begs its customers on this platform and others to book directly, they are many many dollars away from making this the best value. All hotels work with wholesalers as part of their strategy to lure guests. Manage this relationship better. Find ways to assure quality and accuracy of photos and descriptions on reseller websites. Do not punish people for locking in the best rate and arriving with again, expectations. We shouldn't be held accountable for a hotel's decision to sell off a block of rooms to a reckless and unchecked market. If you truly want us to book through you, offer price-matching, problem solved. Offering to cancel our reservation after we've arrived and inspected the room is NOT a solution. 3. Just tell the truth. Don't call something "economy" and expect us to imagine a tiny room facing an alley. Give us context. Let us know this should be our last 'resort', or this room is meant to only sleep in and will not be part of the coastal experience. Or just call it "depressing" and let us decide. 4. Empower your frontline to make us happy. Don't make us jump through hoops to get a free upgrade, and don't leave nicer rooms empty. If you can offer a free upgrade from the "depressing" rooms, do it. Better yet, give your wonderful front desk agents the power to create happy, loyal guests. With so many alternatives to hotels now, your survival depends on avoiding business as usual. Full disclosure: Haven't stayed here. But I've tried. Earned a Free Night at Best Western! Woo hoo. But... that free room is only for the hotel chain's worst rooms. In the case of Seaside, that is a Queen room, no view. I first called Best Western's 800 number, as instructed on my Free Room voucher. I was told it was only available for a Queen room, no view. I found this odd. Nowhere in the Free Room voucher documentation did it state that the room would be one of the hotel's least desirable rooms. I was told I could call the Seaside Best Western directly. Great. I called the Seaside Best Western. 3 times. The first time, after I explained the situation, I was told, 'Oh, maybe we're fully booked that day.' I asked if she could check. Her response was, 'No, we're wide open that day.' So, I asked to speak to a Manager about using the Free Room voucher. The managers were in a meeting, so I said I'd call back. The second time I called, the person on the phone checked with her manager (I've found Managers at Best Western try to avoid talking to customers at all costs). The response was, 'We can't use a Free Room voucher on any rooms except the Queen no view room. But you can upgrade if you want.' Interesting. So I could spend money to use my Free Room voucher. So I asked how much for an Oceanfront room. $60. If I wanted the King Room, jetted tub with an ocean view, it would be $128. Please keep in mind that the King Room, jetted tub with an ocean view is listed at $205.19 for that Thursday night. So, if I'm paying $128 to use my Free Room voucher, that makes the value of my Free Room voucher roughly $77.19. That's the value of being a loyal Best Western customer. You get teased with a Free Room voucher that can only be used at very limited times on the least desirable rooms in the chain. read more

Having a home in Seaside, motels/hotels are not something we patronize. This review is for the meeting room and cafe during the Annual Seaside Jazz festival. The venue was intimate and clean while the sound system performed well with no annoying issues. (feedback, glitches etc.) A temporary bar was set up outside the small auditorium for the attendees and was reasonably priced while the drinks were generous pours from a friendly gracious staff. Menus from the cafe downstairs were made available at this bar to be able to order food and bring upstairs into the venue. Service was prompt and the Cheeseburgers, turkey sandwiches, sided with seasoned steak fries and included condiments were delicious with larger than average portions. I certainly will consider eating other meals here in the future as they exceeded our overall expectations for the price paid. read more

Great staff and comfortable king beds. Nice ocean view, a decent TV and we were able to bring our dog. This place is very popular it seems, but our stay was very disappointing. Mirrored closet door comes off track easily and closet space is small. No name microwave is a pain to use. Electric fireplace is supposed to flicker but it just acts like a fluorescent on the fritz and doesn't put out any heat. No A/C. No channel guide in room or on TV. Don't bother with the Cafe. My "scramble" consisted of rewarmed food. Roller wheel came off dishwasher when bottom tray was pulled out. No exhaust fan in the restroom, which is tiny. Kitchenette sink drains very slowly and there's no disposal! Coffee maker is for one cup at a time. Guess some people think that's an advantage? Sorry to be so negative, but at almost $300 @ nite I expected a much better experience. At least it appears to be clean. Not planning another BW experience. read more

Rooms tad dated but clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. There is no a/c but there is a fan and you can leave the sliding door or window cracked open. Right by the ocean so close walk to the beach. Came here for sort of an end of summer getaway and decided to splurge with an ocean view room Room was decent a jetted tub and a balcony with a nice view. I felt like it was a little pricey, but it is still summer on the Oregon Coast so I shouldn't complain. I was disappointed that there was no type of breakfast included as most Best Westerns do have some sort of breakfast included. We have been staying here for 7+ years now. The last time we stayed I questioned if we'd ever come back. Decided to give it another shot and I'm so glad we did. We got a full ocean view room as usual, complete with kitchenette, ceiling fan, fireplace, balcony (with chairs), one king and a queen bed. The service at the front desk tonight was impressive, kindly greeting me as soon as I walked through the doors before getting to the desk. Our room was spotless as the rest of the hotel areas we visited were. This will continue to be our favorite place to stay in seaside! Unprofessional and discourteous. Accused my husband and I of sneaking a cat into our ocean view room and requested we vacate the premises. We in fact, did not bring a cat. No inquiry or conversation regarding the situation, just immediately asked to leave. Furthermore, they have refused to provide security video footage that would verify said incident. This is more like a two star hotel, but it did have some redeeming qualities. We had an oceanfront view room on the first floor with a slider. It was nice to hear the ocean all night. When you're on the first floor you take your chances leaving the slider open while you sleep as the screen doesn't lock. We did not have our pet with us, but we still got to experience dog pee on the corner of the sofa and the dried puddle on the flooring upon our arrival. So, there's that. Also, this is a noisy hotel. However, if you're traveling with pets, it's a decent choice as there is a paved walking path between the hotel and the beach. Also, there's the beach. read more

For $360 the first nite to $500 the second nite I feel totally ripped off. We should have looked harder at other hotels but because of our loyalty to Best Western & Choice hotels we chose this location. We will not stay here again. Now the problems. The bed was not comfortable and the linens are old. Only have 4 pillows on a king. Pillow cases also old. Shower was stopped up and the door didn't seal so water filled up the pan and then leaked out. Toilet flushed really slow. We told them we wouldn't use it but the jetted tub, although clean, was surrounded by dirty, broken, old vinyl mini blinds Yuck. They are painting the exterior but desperately need an interior remodel. The new cafe was a nice addition. We had dinner one night and we're happy. We were the only customers. The pop machine on our floor was hot. Getting a pop out of it was hot. There was absolute no privacy either. Because of the space the jetted tub took up our balcony was about 4'x3' and the neighbors were right there. They could see me and I could see them from the reflection of our tub windows. This hotel is FANTASTIC!! We were so close to the beach- all we had to do was open our room drapes. The sandy beach hills immediately welcomed us forward to what seemed like an endless ocean view! Everything we visited in town was just a short walk from the hotel. We visited the Sea Lions at the aquarium (watch out they splash), shopped all along the promenade, and had the most delightful breakfast in a small café. While we were there we had both sunshine, and rain (expected on the coast). It was easy to get back to our hotel (and room) to wait out the rain, and since the beach is right outside the hotel door, it was super quick to get back on the beach when the sun returned. The hotel desk agents were kind and welcoming for our stay. Our room was spacious, bug and 'visitor' free which can be hard to find from a hotel right on the water, and our bed was comfortable. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again, and would highly suggest friends and family follow suit. read more

This was the fifth motel we stayed at during a road trip. While it was almost twice as expensive as others we stayed in, it had the tiniest room. It was clean, but low value for our money -- no breakfast either. Seaside is a resort town, but this was not during season and this motel is not on the beach. read more

Which was extra nice for this trip, because I was under the weather and had to stay in the room almost the entire time we were there. The room was sparkly clean, and I noticed there were brand 2 new pillows in the closet. They were probably in the last room, too, and I just didn't notice. I slept like a baby, to the lovely sound of the waves, both nights. Because we knew there was a DVD player, we brought our stash of Netflix DVDs, but when we tried to get them to play, even my super techie husband couldn't figure it out. So he called the front desk to ask for help, but the "tech guy" was busy, and they said they would have him call us back. We waited 20-30 minutes and my husband started trying again, eventually figuring it out on his own. We got through a couple of previews and still hadn't heard back, so hubby called down again and told them we'd figured it out. Other than that this stay was much, much better! It's so nice to be able to see the ocean from our room, but also have your toes in the sand just steps from the hotel. read more

I have stayed here many times and it is always superb. My room on this visit was spotless and featured a sunken tub facing the ocean, a fireplace, a very comfortable bed and absolute quiet. The receptionists were more than happy to send up extra pillows when requested, and Dallas and Brittany went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The restaurant lacks atmosphere but the servers are friendly and the food is delicious, and the hotel even offered 25% off during my entire stay. I tried their oatmeal w quinoa, avocado toast and an omelette with potatoes & fruit. All were perfectly prepared and saved me having to go out in the rain in search of breakfast. I highly recommend staying at the BW Ocean View, and trying their restaurant. read more
