We stayed here in June, only for one night. We ended up loving Astoria, and wished we could've stayed longer, but it wasn't in the plans. Hotel was great. We booked through the Hilton Honors app, which I recommend, cause then you can pick your room. I also picked to have a river facing room, which I would recommend. Rooms were clean, comfortable, maybe a little tight for a family of 3 with 3 suitcases, but we made it work. Complimentary breakfast was the usual fare. Definitely recommend getting out and walking along the river walk path. Other reviews mentioned the sea lions, but we didn't hear any while we were there. It's also close to Pier 39, which has a great little coffee place. Overall, great stay, price was reasonable, rooms were comfortable and clean! read more

My wife and I stayed in room 140 from Friday night until Sunday morning, June 19-21. When we were leaving Sunday morning to check out, my wife was making sure we got everything and when opening the drawer of the bedside nightstand discovered it was full of underwear that was not ours. She was very disgusted as was I. Also upon moving back one of the chairs in the room, a cup of soup container was under the chair, not ours. Obviously whomever cleaned the room prior to us checking in on Friday did not do a very good job. I hope that at least the sheets had been changed. One other minor issue was that I had asked the front desk person for an extra desk chair for the room after we checked in on Friday. He could not seem to find one extra chair for me in the entire complex...or maybe he didn't even bother to check. Again on Saturday I asked the new guy the same thing and was told no extra chairs. Unbelievable. I booked this room based on my assumption that Hampton/Hilton hotels were top notch places to stay. I am now very disappointed in this assumption. After trying to contact the manager without success Hotels.com agent was able to get me a very small credit for this overly expense hotel. I will never stay here again. read more

Said were full that couldnt correct the problem but during our two bight stay never saw the parking lot full or hardly any people in hotel. Since they could not do what we reserved for no offer of change in pricing. It was 50 degrees in the elevators. Attitude was not good. My wife and I stayed here a little over a week ago. A few items potential guests should be wary of. Housekeeping did not clean our room as scheduled on the middle day of our stay. Upon our return in the late afternoon, we were told all had gone home. The next morning at checkout, the clerk informed us that no one was available on weekends to speak with regarding a possible adjustment. Absurd to say the least! It gets better. The general manager doesn't come to the property until AFTER checkout during the week! I was given his email so that I could contact him. The next day I emailed him and asked for the courtesy of a phone call. He did not, and chose to hide behind his employee to respond to my email. Needless to say, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY! There is a Best Western and Holiday Inn Express that I am sure will take better care of you. As a side note, the food selection in the morning is amongst the poorest I have encountered. This hotel was quite large, and after staying at a Quality Inn, this felt like the Ritz. The hotel is on the waterfront. And there are sea lions you can see and hear from a distance if you walk out back of the hotel. There's a nice walking trail as well There are the typical amenities you would find at a nice hotels like complimentary breakfast, a gym, a pool, and there is a sizable indoor and outdoor lounge area, as well as meeting and business rooms The room itself was sizable and nicely decorated. There was a mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. These all smelled incredible The staff was friendly enough. We were offered cold waters upon arrival which was nice Some tips: Take advantage of the complimentary breakfast that lasts from 6-10am. Enjoy the heated pool or sizable gym/exercise room. Go for a stroll along the walking trail just behind the hotel. This is a very scenic walk and you can go see the sea lions or walk into town. Our reservation was made incorrectly and the front desk was unable to correct it. Then, the front desk staff gave us inconsistent information about our room rates day to day. In the end, we were charged much more than we expected - far more than is quoted on sites such as Trip Advisor, etc. The breakfast was quite mediocre and the coffee weak. We will never go back and will tell our friends and acquaintances not to go there either. read more

FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY!!! Well for almost $ 300 a night I expect a bit cleaner room. It smells like a dog was in here. I asked front desk if they had specific rooms for a dogs and he said no. I assume there was a dog in here prior. I had a German Shepherd that stayed with us in a hotel but there are specific rooms for animals. The chair is stained as well as the carpet. The TV is fixed on the cabinet and we can't watch it straight in line with the bed. We are leaving a day early! read more

Stayed here for 1 night during a business trip. Weather was not cooperating so it was mostly rainy with some hail, but I can see why people would stay here during the drier, warmer months of the year due to it's location and views of the Columbia River. For my short stay, it was an average experience. Pros: -Location is right on the Columbia River. When the weather is nice, you could go for a walk or jog along the riverwalk. There is a cool brewery across the bridge you can access by walking (5 minutes) or driving (1 min). -Free and reliable WIFI -Plenty of free parking -Comfortable Bed - slept well -Free hot breakfast Cons: -This is an older hotel that could use an upgrade with it's interior. Walls are thin so you might hear doors closing or people above you walking around. The shower and faucet worked fine though. -Gym is a bit outdated and had some missing dumbbells. I would upgrade the dumbbells and add some yoga mats for stretching. -They have a snack bar but it could use an upgrade. No alcohol offered. Only ice cream option was a weight watchers ice cream bar. I would definitely add some beer/wine and haagen dazs ice cream. For the price I expected a bit more. Hopefully management can take some notes and make the minor upgrades. read more

I'm sad to write this review. I waited a week before writing it in hopes that we would get a call back from the onsite manager, but never did. To start, we really liked the location. The room was fine. The staff wasn't very welcoming. When returning or leaving the hotel, we didn't even get a look up from the associate sitting at the front desk, if someone was there, other times, there was no presence at the desk at all. The following day of our stay, we had requested our room to be cleaned and the response was they are too busy. Understandable. No biggie. We needed more towels, when we went down to ask, Brandon was very kind and grabbed them for us right away. Hours after we checked out, I realized that I had left two jackets in the closet, unfortunately, we were headed to the other side of Oregon and couldn't turn back. When I called, the person at the front desk said that he would have to check with housekeeping, but he was busy doing paperwork. Cool. He said that he would give me a call back. I waited two days, no call back. I called again, and jasmine answered, when she checked with housekeeping, she said nothing was left and I said, I'm 120% sure that I left them in the closet, maybe housekeeping forgot to look in the closet and she said, "I'm a housekeeper and we always look in the closet" I requested to speak to the manager and she said that the manager couldn't help me with this, I still insisted on speaking with the manager. She said she would let GM know and they'd contact me. No repsonse. It was my fault for leaving my jackets, but the really upsetting part is that whoever checked that closet knows that the jackets were there and the dishonesty more than anything has really left a terrible impression of this particular hotel. read more

This hotel is listed as 4 star which is diabolical. The owner is so cheap the basic cable package does not come with a program guide, so you have to just scroll aimlessly not really knowing what's on. The heat was completely turned off in my room for an extended time & was absolutely freezing ! Took hours for the room to even be comfortable. The front desk never answers the phone. I had a problem at 1am and she was in the back asleep. Her friend ( older guy) was watching TV with all the lights off & told me he was there for her to feel safer? So odd. Guess she sleeps all night then goes about her day. Breakfast server was rude. Spider webs in room. Windows dirty with spider webs and dead bugs. Everywhere inside hotel is cold. Location is great, hotel is nice on outside. Would recommend finding somewhere else to stay for the price they charge while cutting corners everywhere they can. Poor management. Lacking in customer service. Came back to edit post due to ants all over the bathroom, sink and even a couple on my bed! Looking through reviews the ant infestation has been an ongoing issue for over a year. Also looking through the reviews the very rude employee that does breakfast seems to be a theme on reviews. I really enjoyed staying here as it is off of the main drag so not too loud, but still right in town. The staff was professional, but not overly warm. The rooms were comfortable and I fell right to sleep. The downside is that they ABSOLUTELY gouged for the holiday weekend, costing over $300 for one night when the weekend after was less than $120 for one night (Saturday to Sunday both times, but one was right before Labor Day). I think I would absolutely stay here again but not for that price. read more

Stayed 2 nights 8/20-8/21 checked out 8/22. You cant beat the location. It is right on the water overlooking the Columbia River. I booked a King Size Suite which was huge with a Balcony and views of the river. I thought the customer service was great, I received a call prior to check in asking me when my arrival time was. I told her we will arrive at 2AM and she told me the name of the person who will be assisting me at the front desk. After a drive from Portland to Astoria, we arrived and got assigned to room 204. Room 204 - Large King Suite with kitchen sink, coffee maker, living, long desk, TV, King size bed and a restroom with bathtub. The room had a clean seal sticker on the door in which shows the room was cleaned and Lysol before arrival. It was a clean room. Walls were a little thin as I heard neighbors flushing their toilet and them showering. The balcony was the best part. Waking up every morning and watching the sea lions and hearing them. You can see seagulls and people walking the wharf. Smell the fresh air. It was great to get out of the Bay Area for the weekend to get some fresh air and away from the smoky fires. You can hear seagulls the whole night which doesnt bother me. The front desk offers headphones if needed for it. Breakfast is served every morning although we did not partake it in. The location is great as it is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but close enough (10 mins) drive into it for dining, museums, etc. Very close to the Goonies house and the safeway down the block has everything you need. This is one of my most favorite hotels ever! The staff were friendly. The breakfast was the typical Hilton breakfast and decent. You absolutely can not beat the view at breakfast! The location of this hotel was the real stand out. I am so glad we got to experience this hotel and the beauty of Astoria. The drive to the hotel itself was magical. It was early evening. There were beautiful homes with deer just roaming around. At the front desk of the hotel, there was a sigh that said they would provide earplugs if the seals were too noisy. WHAT???? This is AWESOME!!!! SEALS! No ear plugs for me. I wanted to hear every loud second of it. The hotel is situated on the Columbia River, and our room had a gorgeous view of it. And what's that sound? Seals. I could hear them with the doors closed. And when I opened the patio doors it was like a seal symphony. It was loud. It was beautiful. You could see the seals not too far in the distance too. The room was spacious and clean. The view was breathtaking. I could live there. I love it! Such a great experience! read more

Decided to get away from Seattle for a weekend and travel to historic Astoria. The Hampton Inn is located right on the main road into Astoria, so it is super convenient. The check-in process was super smooth. The young man that was at the desk was very friendly and very helpful. He offered us some suggestions on where to eat. We stayed in a river-front suite and it was fabulous! The room was spacious, with plenty of space to lay out our luggage and we loved the large desk. Both of us had work to catch up on, so it was great that we were both able to work at the same time. The sea lions serenaded us throughout our stay We didn't mind at all. With the sliding glass door closed, we could hardly hear them. We also utilized the fitness center on the main floor. It had everything we needed to get a quick workout in. The hotel sits adjacent to a small train that tours the town. There is a stop right next to the hotel and you can easily hop on and off. There is also the Pier which has a brewery, a coffee shop, and a small museum dedicated to Bumble Bee Seafood and the local fishing industry. All in all it is a great place to stay. We will be staying here again when we return. read more

We had a wonderful time with the family at the Hampton inn & suites in Astoria, Oregon. The first thing that we liked the most was the cleaning of the room and all guest areas around the hotel including the pool and jacuzzi. Delaney in the front desk helped us move to another suite more spacious on the second night and that made our vacation even more special. The included breakfast was delicious and my kids loved the strawberry waffle. Very quiet and relaxed place to stay for a few days out of the big city and unplug a little bit. My daughter really enjoyed the indoor pool so much that she asked us to stay a little longer. The suite had everything we needed and the space made us feel right at home. I first will admit I like Hampton Inns. Now believe me they all don't get or deserve 5 stars but this one does. Good location - modern Hotel - Nice Staff. The rooms are clean and fairly large at least the King Room we got on the 3rd Floor. Bed could be a little softer but that is my opinion. Didn't here other guests or any noise from the road. They also put together a nice selection of breakfast items to take back to your room. No sit down breakfast area yet. They have one but it is blocked off until Covid Restrictions lift in the State - which should be in a few weeks. Nice place to stay in Astoria and it is only a 5 min drive to hit downtown area. read more

This time out stay was great! No noisy people on the floor above us. Kids love the pool as usual. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was more simple than in the past: just bagels, toast, waffles, cereal, sausage and eggs. No Pastries- boo. Front desk was difficult to work with in regards to getting a top floor suite. We thought if we called instead of using booking, we had a better chance for top floor but nope. This is even though they said that they would get us on the 4th floor which was the reason we decided to make the reservation after last years's fiasco. When we called to confirm days before, we were told that the top rooms had been assigned to others. It was as if our conversation with them months ago was completely ignored. The woman manager, however, was kind in her response. Nevertheless, we lucked out that overall the people staying above us were considerate and followed the 10 pm quiet time. read more

Good location; the only positive. Room was directly above the pool so we heard kids screaming until 10:15pm. Front desk said they could switch us to a different room in the morning for the rest of our 7 night stay. The next morning, the front desk man offered a room then said he had to make a call first, came back 5 mins later and said he "didn't want to move us and risk double booking so we'd just have to deal with it." Ironically, the rest of our stay was on a second reservation so we came back 10 mins later to checkout of the first reservation/check into the second and asked if we could have a new room for the second reservation, then as if by magic he suddenly could put us in a new room. Talk about non-existent service. Also, the first room's bathroom light was out and had ants. Both bathrooms smell like urine. Morning coffee cream option is only artificial creamer, no half and half. Absolutely love this place! Great location, friendly staff, great view, and CLEAN!!! Now, the bed is alright, more stiff and my husband likes that. I'm a soft bed person, so if you aren't like me then you are good. The front person when we got in after 10pm was super friendly and energetic for it being late. She even hunted down a luggage cart for us (she is also a MCR fan, so had to love her for that). The room was clean and after my last several bad experiences with the Hilton brand (some of which I didn't even bother rating), it was sooooo nice to have a room where light doesn't come under the door, there is no water or other damage to the walls or molding, and the shower has NO mildew or mold!!! I for once didn't not feel like I was dirtier getting out! The view in the morning was beautiful and there is a trail to take a walk around the shore. Will definitely be staying again. Sorry there isn't good pics of the room, we had already started unpacking! read more

Our room was wonderful and we had a great view of the Columbia River and the ships going back and forth. BJ at the front desk is the best! She has a terrific attitude, very helpful, just super customer service! The others at the front desk are ho-hum! The seals were kinda loud and we could hear them all night. The only major downside of our visit was breakfast. We stay for several days and they served egg omelets, red potatoes and either sausage or bacon every single day! No biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, or any deviation from omelets like other Hampton Inns serve?! No muffins or sweet rolls either and Roy - the person working in the breakfast area - was absolutely awful! He obviously hates his job as he kept saying the "F-Bomb" continually out loud for customers to hear. He kept burping loudly, saying things like "Those F-ing" people and even told a woman in front of me that she was using the wrong utensil to pick up her omelet! I couldn't believe it. I see other reviews mentioning the same thing - he really needs to go! The other guy who does the breakfast when Roy isn't there is really nice and helpful - need to hire him full-time! On a positive note, the waffle maker is good! read more

I stayed here this past week on a business trip. I had an issue with receiving my stay points after I paid, but the manager spent 30 minutes today working with Hilton customer service support to rectify the issue. Sameer went up and beyond to make sure all of my points were given and applied for my stay. The lobby in this hotel overlooks the river channel. The views are beautiful. It is a 2 minute walk to see the seals or to cross over to the cannery. The cannery includes Rogue brewery, coffee girl coffee, and an interesting museum on the cannery and sea workers. Bad weather hit so they extended my check out time till 1 pm. Beautiful place. I might have to come back in March for business again. I would be delighted to stay here again. Hotel has a cozy fireplace and a good breakfast too. Glad I stayed here. read more

Nice hotel on the east side of town by Pier 39. It's hard to rate a hotel with the current lock down of so many services, but overall they are doing a great job. We are Hilton Honors Gold members and are used to having treats in our room. No treats...when we asked at the front they said they only give to Gold and Diamond HH members and you have to ask. We asked and they gave. This info would have been helpful had they told us this at check in. The breakfast is served by their Chef and it's prepackaged hard boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, yogurt and fruit. Fresh coffee is served and bottles of OJ and water are available. No maid service unless requested. We stayed two nights and our trash containers were full. We placed the full bags in the hall and they were picked up quickly. So thankful that they had extra trash liners in each container. Great place to stay and we will stay again. read more

This is the Astoria edition of the Hampton/Hilton family of hotels. Parking and navigating here is easy. The lot associated with the hotel is massive and it's both easily visible from the main road into Astoria and clearly marked. The hotel is larger then the average Hampton in, and the lobby is unusually pleasing. Elevators are easily and logically visible if separated from the front deck/check in area. The dining room doubles as a decent river viewing/lounging spot. You might be tempted to take the complimentary breakfast outside in order to take at vantage of the landscaping, sunshine and fresh air-but Astoria even in the summer is on the chilly side of things so consider the weather before committing to the outside benches. There are a few grills scattered outside facing the riverwalk/trolly trail (perfect for running!) but these are underutilize due to the prevailing cold weather. The location is nearly perfect for Astoria as a lot of most of what you'll want to see is within easy driving, walking, or biking distance. This is a charming spot only few hours drive from most of the Oregon coast (including cannon beach), Portland, Seattle, Fort Clatsop (and some other state parks rife with outdoor activities), the columbia river gorge (what parts of it that haven't burned down) and multnomah falls. All that plus this newly remodeled hotel chock full of staff who are capable, efficient, and able to make good recommendations make this an excellent choice for a stay over even if it's just for the day. read more

The staff here at the Hampton Inn Astoria was great!!! We had a fairly large group staying here with us and they did an awesome job taking care of us. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. There is a nice gym with treadmills, ellipticals and free weights. Breakfast was hot every morning with fresh coffee 24/7. I would have giving this hotel 5 stars however, I didnt because they only have one washer and dryer for the entire hotel!!! :( I will definitely be staying here the next time we are in Astoria, great location but make sure you get a room opposite of the waterfront or you will be hearing sealions barking all day and night. If you can handle the noise, the balcony have a great view of the Columbia River and the pier. read more

Stayed during 10-12 to 10-14-18 . Our room was not refreshed with the basics of soap / shampoo / coffee . Their offer of 15% off on reserved rooms made a week prior was not applied to invoice. Ms. JaLene Dunn , manager and desk clerk, argued how amenities are not required and billing was correct but assured me her supervisor would call me about my complaints, never received that call. I will say Hilton, parent company, emailed me after I made several phone calls to them with a full refund to be made within a week by check to my home. This hotel has a great location with views just a shame the staff does not honor their discounts/offers and has desk clerk like JaLene Dunn working with the guest. The folks above us were moving furniture, playing ball and generally loud. We notified the front desk, but it was a ruined $300 night's sleep. The breakfast needs to be refreshed.
