I'm embarrassed to say I had 5 procedures with Dr. Chou in a matter of 1 yr 1/2 time span and with every procedure there was complications after. It seems like he was initially trying to help but I honestly don't think he's capable of good results. In March of 2022 my 1st surgery with Dr. Chou I developed a capsular contracture within a month. June of 2022 under local did a steroid shot and scrapped scar tissue, this did nothing. Felt like my boob went even higher after that. 2nd surgery was November 2022 changed out right breast implant only, did steroid shot along with a mesh fish skin internal bra and stem cell injection. My boob bottomed out almost immediately afterward. So I went from one boob normal and the other boob really high to super low. I tried to disguise my unevenness for over a year. I thought my body was rejecting the implant so I chose to explant. April 2023 was my explant with capsulectomy. He could not do a lift at the time because my skin was so thin, creapy and I was left with big creases in my flat chest (could fit three fingers inside crease of my boob) I was completely devastated. In July 2023 my 4th surgery I had a lift with fat transfer and I specifically said if I do lipo I want to do the J Plasma type lipo. I don't find out until a week later they he did regular lipo because he said my skin was tighting that I didn't need it. It was very disturbing that a Dr. made a decision with out my consent while I was under. He could have called my husband but didn't. He did end up reimbursing me back for the J Plasma upgrade. After this surgery my breasts were still deformed and asymmetric. None of the fat from the fat transfer stayed. I had what felt like a stone of scar tissue on right boob which was a sermona. During this time these problems really affected my self confidence. For 2 years it was not a good outcome and felt like I was still masking the problem. During the time from my very 1st surgery to my last with Dr Chou I went in prob over 80 times to get ultrasound treatments on boob and I have to say the only thing good about this office is that the girls are nice. I decided not to give up on myself and explore other doctors after all the procedures with Dr. Chou. I didn't want one doctors failure to discourage me. I got another fat transfer in April 2024 with a new Doctor and now my boobs are even with no problems. Turns out I still had my capsules in my boobs which I thought they were taken out with my April 2023 explant ( I requested a few times after explant to see pictures and never recieved) and also had a detached pec muscle. My new dr said that as soon as he took capsules out my boobs released and dead fat from my previous fat transfer was stuck to the capsules along with a bunch of blue sutchers (not dissolvable) left inside of me. I do not recommend Dr. Chou.

A little backstory - I had breast implants for about 12 years and truthfully after year 5 or so I started to feel they didn't look good, had gotten bigger, were not lifted anymore and just didn't suit my small frame. I went back to my original plastic surgeon about 2 years ago and told him I hated my breasts and was considering just removing them. He convinced me that all I needed was a lift and we could put a new implant in but that it wouldn't look good if I removed the implant entirely. So of course, I was convinced and went through with the surgery hoping and praying I'd love my new (smaller) breasts. Fast forward a few months, my breasts looked the EXACT same. They didn't look any smaller, the lift had barely done much and I just internally felt so defeated and depressed about it. I kept trying to convince myself this is just the body I have to deal with now but ultimately I was so unhappy. About 7 months ago, I researched new surgeons and found Dr. Chao. Upon meeting with him he actually LISTENED to what I had been through & what I actually wanted. He asked me to show him images of what I physically wanted my breasts to look like and that was that of a small B cup. He told me he completely understood and he WOULD get me to look exactly like my inspo photos. I felt so relieved and excited. He ended up removing the implants, capsule & did a lift. Immediately coming out of the surgery I remember waking up, looking down and terrified that it would look the same. When I looked down this time although swollen post surgery, I could have jumped with joy because they were significantly smaller. I couldn't believe it. Fast forward 6 months I now have the EXACT breasts I wanted - a small B cup. The breasts are actually lifted this time and look BETTER than when I had implants although the previous surgeon told me they would never look good. Long story short - I am so grateful for Dr. Chao who actually LISTENED to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. I've truly never been happier in my skin.

I was also receiving text messages with surgery instructions while I was literally sitting in the lobby, which made the whole process feel very disorganized and unsettling. Social media can be very deceiving, so I highly recommend visiting any facility in person before committing to surgery. When it comes to cosmetic procedures and your safety, trust your gut. Contending with an overly large perky saline implant on my left breast, and a very saggy sad right breast, I had a rather low self-image. I also was saddled with huge flabby upper arms and lots of side boob. I hadn't worn a short sleeve shirt in years. I found Dr. Flores in Tijuana, Mexico and after visiting his web site, conducted due diligence to ensure he was board certified and had no instances of malpractice. I found he was boarded in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and in General Surgery. His ratings were five stars. I contacted the practice online, sent initial photos, and they responded back very quickly with recommendations for improvement and a professional brochure that included a lot of information about the Dr., the team, the hospital and the hotel along with a very reasonable quote. Soon after, I had my first web consult with Dr. Flores. I decided to move forward with the surgery, and upon my arrival in San Diego, the office arranged a ride for me from the airport to the Dr's office in Tijuana where I had my pre-op consultation and met the support team. Everyone was very kind to me and took a great deal of time to ensure I had all my questions answered and was comfortable with the proposed surgeries, implants, and subsequent care. Dr. Flores did the "mark-up" and spent a great deal of time helping me to choose the right implant size for my body. Since I was also having an extended arm lift, Dr. Flores also agreed to remove as much side boob and back fat as possible. We also discussed reasonable expectations. Interestingly, I also had an extensive visit/exam with an Internal Medicine physician to ensure I was healthy and could tolerate the anesthesia and surgery with little risk. My surgery was the following early morning, and I spent a night at the hospital. I woke up sometime in the very early morning, and a very sweet nurse brought me broth and Jello. I woke up again in the morning to find Dr. Flores checking in on me. He took lots of time to answer all my questions and he described everything he had done surgically, and he assured me that everything had gone very well. He was very happy with the results and warned me to be patient and to do very little physical activity until cleared. My first impression of my new body was scary. I told Dr. Flores I was very worried. He asked me to be patient and said that what I was seeing was normal, and that everything would be just fine. I stayed in Tijuana for about seven days and was delivered back to the airport and flew home. I had to stay in constant contact with Dr. Flores's office and send new photos every Friday. After one month post op, I began to see that I was going to look amazing. I had my final three-month post-op web visit with Dr. Flores last week and I am now in month four post op, and I am healing up very nicely. My arms are slim and I am very pleased with my new and improved breast symmetry. I now look wonderful in clothes, and my scarring surprisingly has been very minimal. I have had a really excellent experience with Dr. Flores and his wonderful staff. I initially was scared to have the surgery in Mexico, but in retrospect, I was treated so much better than I had been previously in the US. Everyone took the time to get to know me and everyone I encountered was patient and kind. The hotel was beautiful and the food was amazing. I did not realize in 2019 such great and caring medical treatment was still available. Dr. Lenihan was recommended to me by my primary care physician who had known him for years for his work with sports teams. He is thoughtful, fully answers every question and explains everything to my satisfaction which is very important to me. I never felt like he was trying to rush me out of his office to get to his next appointment. I have seen some other comments about the staff being rude or too busy to be bothered. I can say on my mid afternoon first visit the reception area was pretty full and there were a few people in line waiting to check in. The ladies behind the reception desk seemed extremely busy (and they were working hard and not just sitting around texting and chatting with each other). After a while I was getting a little frustrated but took a deep breath and said to myself "let's just play this out and see what happens". I am glad I did. On my second visit I arrived early just as they opened and the same ladies were friendly, smiling and greeting me as I approached the counter. Seems like on my first visit they were just slammed. The Otay Lakes Surgery Center is great but the staff made the difference. As the time for my surgery counted down I could feel I was getting more nervous. When the staff spoke with me they made sure to make eye contact reinforcing my issue had their full attention and were professional, polite and genuinely concerned. I was kept informed and updated throughout the entire process and that made a big difference for me. My Surgical Nurse Stacey came by to introduce herself and described what was going to happen as they began moving me into surgery and then post op stating she would be with me at every step. She made sure I had my questions answered and even brought me warm blankets. Dr. Wallace the anesthesiologist came over, introduced himself, explained everything that was going to happen including my recovery over the next 24 hours and ended asking if I had any questions. Just before kickoff Dr. Lenihan came by asking if I had any questions or concerns. Dr. Lenihan even provided me a DVD video of my entire procedure with his comments. A BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Lenihan, his Medical Assistant Frances, Dr. Wallace, nurse Stacey and every employee I encountered during my procedure at the Surgery Center! After that, I waited an additional 35 minutes for the doctor. After more than 80 minutes of waiting, I still had not been seen by a physician. Unfortunately, I had to leave because I needed to get to work. As a result, I never received the medical care I came for despite taking time out of my day and traveling to the clinic. No patient's time should be treated this way. If a clinic is running significantly behind schedule, patients deserve to be informed and given the option to reschedule. Instead, I was left waiting with no regard for my time or responsibilities. I left without being examined, without receiving treatment, and extremely disappointed. This level of service is unacceptable for a medical practice. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

I've had over 12 procedures here and have seen over 75% improvement, coming from severe acne scars. I had all types of scars (rolling, ice pick, boxcar), and all of them saw improvement. The packages are reasonably priced, he does not price gouge you. He has so much experience and has had a hand in inventing some of the treatments derms use across the country, if not outright inventing them himself (phenol peel). I also want to give a very special and heartfelt acknowledgments to my surgeon Dr. Quiñonez a.k.a. Dr. Q! Now, that I am back and have had time to fully process my experience, I'm really happy with the care and expertise of Dr. Q and his staff. He is somewhat of a reserved gentlemen but has the most experience at this facility. Depending on who you ask he is also the one who perfected the technique that is primarily used at Pompeii Surgical. Although, I made sure to do a deep dive into every aspect of the surgery, (I did 2 1/2 months of training/ learning). He fully explain the procedure and even drew a diagram to make sure that I was comfortable with what was going to happen. Now, let's talk about the obvious. For most people who come down to use this facility and take advantage of the procedures for a fraction of the cost. the fact that it's in Tijuana, Mexico makes people hesitant and even scared. The false ideals of cartel problems or even dangerous activities that are assumed to happen, is a non factor. I highly recommend this place for a high quality medical experience and for anyone that has to pay out of pocket for bariatric surgery. I have read horror stories about being forced to jump through hoops for insurance companies. To fight for financing and their required qualification period to be approved. at the time of this review the cost was $5300 cash or specialized check. That covered everything but airfare. Unfortunately, as of March 1st, 2022, the price has gone up to $5800. But it's still cheaper than paying in the states and in my opinion, Worth every penny!! It's Unbelievable care at a world class facility. I will tell you that this facility and all those that work here from the: surgeons, assistants and nurses are phenomenal. I also want to mention how fantastic the care coordinators and even the drivers- are professionals of the highest caliber. The facility is incredibly clean and modernized. Guests are treated with world class respect and care. I would highly recommend anyone considering bariatric surgery to come here and make it a vacation.
