We are a family that loves quality, and although we live 40 mins away, we don't mind making the drive because of the high quality service we receive in exchange. His staff is always friendly and polite. There are books, toys, and games for children to play in the waiting area. The entire facility is clean and looks new. Dr. Macias is patient and will actually listen to your concerns and not try to rush you no matter how busy he is with so many appointments. He goes above and beyond in answering questions and makes sure you really understand, even if it means drawing a diagram/picture. He is also fantastic at recommending other medical practitioners. I have tried cardiologists and pulmonologists he has recommended and they have been of great quality also. He has been incredibly helpful every step of the way. He caught one of her health issues early. We later learned that many pediatricians miss the early signs. Thanks to his knowledge, we are able to get our daughter a minimally invasive surgery instead of a more major one she would have needed if her symptoms were overlooked. Additionally, we wanted to go out of state for her surgery and Dr. Macias was amazing as he is still supporting us through the process of navigating insurance and getting to an out-of-state specialist that we chose. Through the process, he listened to our concerns and expresses confidence in the choices we are making for our girl. We couldn't ask for more! He answers all of my questions and I never feel as though I'm being overly cautious or paranoid. I will miss him and his staff greatly once we leave to TX. I have been to both the North county office in Templeton & the SLO office. The SLO office is usually VERY busy and hectic, but they get you in & out efficiently. There are also two seperate waiting areas for the kiddos-healthy & not healhy. The Templeton office is quieter, smaller & a little slower paced but does NOT have a toy area. We love Dr.Rowland!!!

He made my mother think that circumcision "had to be done now", using high-pressure sales tactics, and had her sign a surgical consent form while she was on drugs from a c-section! This is not proper consent! He waited until my father had to leave for work before soliciting my mother, so that my father would not be part of the decision! I have surgical complications from his circumcision surgery. He has negatively impacted my life. There was NO MEDICAL reason to perform the surgery. Unethical! Fraud! Great Medical Care, Disorganized Administration…read more I am torn in writing this because the medical care has been mostly good. Kelli is fine....Spencer (PA) and the shot specialists are kind, helpful, and provide great care for my son. However, the administrative side of this practice is incredibly frustrating and disorganized. We have spent two months following a "maintenance schedule" that was explicitly confirmed by the office both in person and over the phone, only to be told two months later that their records were wrong and my son is now three visits behind. This level of miscommunication has effectively wasted two months of progress. Beyond this major error, the office is nearly impossible to reach. Calls are rarely answered, it takes days to get a return call, and portal messages are often met with short or dismissive responses. It is a shame that such a high level of clinical care is overshadowed by such poor office management. If you choose this office, be prepared to meticulously track every date and record yourself, as their internal communication is unreliable.
