I had a mixed experience with this tree service…read more The good: The crew who came out did a careful job cutting down a large tree close to a building. They worked safely and avoided any property damage. On the technical side of things, I was satisfied. The bad: The quoting and scheduling process was very disappointing. The estimator visited my property (without me present) and provided a quote after walking the site. A month later, when the scheduled workday came, the technician suddenly said he couldn't honor the quote. He claimed I had poured a new cement driveway since the quote, which was simply not true -- the driveway had been there all along. He explained that using their truck might damage the driveway, so the tree would need to be climbed and removed a different way. That's fine, but the $800 price increase should have been acknowledged as their mistake, not blamed on me. I even offered to meet halfway, but he refused and insisted on the full amount. With no other option, I agreed just to get the tree down. Bottom line: the tree was removed safely, but the lack of accountability and the last-minute upcharge left a very bad impression. Every inquiry is answered, which we've found rare in these parts, and generally within a day, in our experience. Joel is so patient to answer any and all questions before starting a job. It is a pleasure working with him. Our first meeting was completely virtual. We had purchased a home but were still commuting, and we got a ticket from our HOA because we hadn't edged our lawn and had seven days to cure the infraction. The flowers which surrounded the house were a mess, and a magnolia tree in the backyard hadn't been trimmed for years. We looked through the Green World Landscaping website and were encouraged by the photos and started an email conversation with Joel. He and his team took care of the entire project, and went above and beyond, mucking out weeds, realigning the flower bed boarders, trimming the tree back to get a fresh new start, and did a beautiful job. When we decided to surround the house with pavers, we of course called Joel because all the hardscaping work we had seen him do was thoughtful and lovely, and he came over and his vision was immediately clear. He suggested a color to complement our home (and conform to community standards), and a pattern and brand which is beautifully designed and has a solid reputation. He and his team were timely, careful with our home, thorough, and they cleaned up every inch of the property before leaving. The artistry of the pavers is stunning. The mosaic at the front door was cut in real time as the pavers were being laid, and set so thoughtfully at the front door, it's a treasure. They also buried our downspout drains and solved a lot of ponding issues that have been going on for years. Again, above and beyond in the designing of the project. It feels like Joel takes as good care of our home as he would his own. We can't recommend Joel and Green World Landscaping more highly. Joel is a good man, and his team is tops.
