The service has always been excellent. The ambiance inside is hectic but in a good way. You see a lot of pieces moving around but like A Viennese waltz instead of a mosh pit. But all that is secondary to the food. I have been many times and I have yet to have a meal I didn't like, even after sharing bites with my significant other, whose tastes vary a lot from mine. I had a nice tequila and shrimp cocktail and could not get the attention of the bar staff to order more!! If you don't sit in the middle of the bar on a busy night you will be ignored. Too much attention on drink making and not much on the food end. So i tipped and told the manager and left. But I am one person who is dispensable so I don't matter. Also, we enjoyed a couple Zihua (zee-wah) Sunset cocktails and a few glasses of Caymus-Suisun "Walking Fool" Red Blend. The food and service at Coastal Fish Company has consistently been top-notch, but occasionally someone hits it out of the park. Back in 2023, it was Sarah as our Server and today she was bartending and made those Zihuas that absolutely delighted my wife. Today, our Server was Shannon-B. Could this be the finest seafood establishment in Memphis? The hype around Coastal Fish is one I can now personally attest to and wholeheartedly agree with. We were seated in front of the water, and I could immediately tell this place was the real deal. Upon opening my menu, I was instantly inundated with an array of seafood and even a few "land" offerings. I had a hard time choosing my dish, as so many options sounded awesome. My table mates and I shared a couple of plates of fried calamari, which I was surprised to enjoy. Squid and most crustacean dishes are far from my liking, but this calamari was fried so well that I could happily forget what I was eating. After a few bites, I shared the Chopped Salad (half portion) with my boyfriend. This salad was PHENOMENAL. It was incredibly tasty and beautifully plated. My favorite touch was the crispy bacon and ripe tomatoes. Everything about the salad was perfect! My entree was by far the star of the show. I ordered the BBQ Black Cod, and substituted the okra for crispy Brussels sprouts. I was incredibly appreciative of the staff's willingness to grant my substitution request, as these Brussels were to die for! As for the rest of the dish, I have zero notes! The cod was cooked perfectly and paired with a sweet, maple glaze atop sweet corn grits. I would absolutely come back just for this dish! I was fortunate enough to try a bite of the Idaho Rainbow Trout, which came in a close second to my own dish. Not only was the food here outstanding, but the table service was almost too good. The food was what I call perfection. I ordered the steak and lobster tail. My meal didn't require any type of steak sauce or additional sauce because it didn't need anything added. The steak was so juicy and the lobster tail was excellent. Everyone in my party of eight ordered practically everything on the menu and everyone says everything was so good that they will definitely be coming back again. The customer service was impressive from the beginning to the end. Our server was named Abigail and she provided A1 service. She was knowledgeable, helpful, professional and proficient. The atmosphere was relaxing and elegant with a view like a piece of heaven. The pond view with the sun beaming against the water was beautiful. The food was just okay for me because I didn't really enjoy the scallop dish I ordered. I wasn't aware that the entrée would only include about four delectable scallops, and the side looked similar to avocado toast, which I wasn't expecting. I knew the dish contained avocado, but I didn't realize it would be served on top of a thick slice of toast. On the positive side, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his salmon entrée. I also had the wedge salad, which was delicious. I would have preferred ranch dressing instead of blue cheese, but I don't recall being asked which dressing I wanted. Even so, the salad and my drink were both outstanding. The service was top-tier--professional, attentive, and excellent in every way. The restaurant offers spectacular waterfront views, and I especially enjoyed watching the sunset and taking in the atmosphere. This is definitely an upscale establishment with a romantic ambiance, making it a great choice for date nights, entertaining out-of-town guests, or celebrating special occasions. Came for the first time as an anniversary treat and on recommendation from a coworker. Absolutely would visit again. The location on the water is just beautiful. Now, it took a bit to get service due to a miscommunication, but the staff and management absolutely made it all right. Our server Lizzie was awesome!! She was so friendly and just the right amount of attentive and helpful. We really wanted good quality seafood and we got it. We had a selection of raw things - cocktail oysters, tuna tartare, sashimi - and it was so delicious. Each bite was complex and fresh beyond explanation. Coastal Fish Company is always a great spot for a romantic night out or a great dinner experience. For starters, we had the NOLA oysters, and they are probably my favorite oysters in Memphis. I love the sauce, and you can definitely tell the oysters are fresh. Next, we had the steak and mashed potatoes -- the steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The lobster bisque was my starter, and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. The only small disappointment was the dessert , pineapple upside down cake. It seemed a little overcooked because it had a slightly burnt taste at the bottom. Overall, the service is always 10/10, and I'd give the food a solid 9/10. Wow, what an amazing time we had! From the arrival, to the hostess stand, our seating, and the wait staff. Everything went great! It's a beautiful place nestled in Shelby farms. The first question our waitress asked, was we celebrating anything? I told her we were actually celebrating our Thirty-Fourth Wedding Anniversary. While we were looking at the menus, she brought us a glass of champagne with a strawberry on top. And congratulated us on our anniversary. Her waitressing skills were impeccable. It's so refreshing to have everything go right in a restaurant. There were so many great options on the menu. I had a problem figuring out what I wanted. So I just ordered way to many things......lol.... We started off with the Blackened Shrimp Brie Dip and the Sauted Blue Crab Claws. They were some of the best appetizers we've ever had. This includes restaurants near the ocean. I also got the classic half wedge salad. Usually a salad is nothing to write home about. I'm here to tell you that was the freshest, best tasting salad. I've ever had. For the main course, I got the Spicy Louisiana Red Fish. Whith Jambalaya, Andouille Sausage, Shrimp, Crawfish, In a Cajun Cream Sauce and my wife got the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Steamed Green Beands and Garlic Whipped Potatoes. Just to make it more difficult on myself. I also added the Jumbo Cocktail Shrimp on Half Shells. I know I sound like a broken record, but every dish was absolutely amazing. The food is so fresh and flavorful. They are a little on the expensive side. But trust me, you deserve it. You only live once! We finished up the evening with a Creme Brulee and a Piece of Dark Chocolate Covered Lime Pie. I think at this point it's very safe to say we were miserable. I highly recommend Coastal Fish Company! We had a table outside with a waterfront view and although it was chilly outside the heat lamps kept me nice and toasty. The professionalism of the staff here is A1 but our server Colby was arguably the best. He was personable, attentive and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. New Year's Eve had a special 4 course menu at $115 per person and everything I had was absolutely delicious. My meal plan included the rock shrimp pot pie, New England clam chowder, butter poached lobster tail and the key lime pie. I came to Coastal Fish Company for a special occasion after wanting to try it for years, and honestly the experience was really disappointing--especially the service. Our server was barely attentive to our table. She went around checking on other tables near us, but hardly came to ours at all. The only time she really interacted with us was when she brought the check. No follow-up, no asking how the food was, no drink refills--nothing. It honestly felt like we were overlooked the entire time. To make things worse, she wasn't even the one who brought out our food. Someone else dropped it off, and after that we were basically on our own. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected much more attentive and professional service. The food didn't make up for it either. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, and it was very underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor, the potatoes were soggy, and overall it just wasn't enjoyable. First off, our waitress was super sweet, but she seemed distracted every time she came to the table. Our seat was inside, but facing the window. So we got to see somewhat of the sunset as we dined. Our appetizers were just okay. Nothing to brag about. The lobster bisque was good, seemed to be a bit too salty. I was looking forward to the lobster ravioli. It's one of my favorites foods. However, they didn't have raviolis and said they were substituting it with Angel hair. I didn't think it could be that much different, but my goodness. That was the most bland meal I've had. I ended up taking it home and added the leftover blackened shrimp and Brie dip to it and it made it much better. My husband had the sea bass and it was okay. The dish wasn't worth the price thats for sure! I ordered dessert before they came out with my creme brulee birthday dessert. Which it was good, but I wish they had told me they were bringing that out before I ordered another one. The place all and all just wasn't worth the hype. More for a social gathering. read more

If you are expecting something filling from the oyster portion of the menu, you may want to get something that has more added to the oyster itself like crab meat. I also had the jumbo lump crab cakes. This was pretty good. It came with a creme brulee (probably messed the spelling up on that one... ah well) style sweet corn side and string beans. The string beans are lightly cooked and well seasoned. The crab cakes met expectations for sure. I also had the Honey Badger beverage. It was really good. They have them dressed, plain, and can choose the size as well as inquire about the brininess of the little dudes. Moved on to the "Surf and Turf" oyster special. It tasted way better than it looked in the pics. It had large grilled oysters with a slice of filet on top. They were dressed well and tasted great. I had to eat them in meat then oyster stages as they were too large to consume in one bite. Really good though. We ate them all! Then we each had a soup. Hers was Lobster Bisque, and mine was Seafood Gumbo. Mine was good, hers was fan-fucking-tastic. It was so rich and deep and flavorful and creamy and decadent and awesome and good and stuff. It's the kind of thing that makes you write poorly. Then we ordered the shrimp and Brie dip. Loved it and tore it up. I think we ate every bite of the dip. I like that they had big shrimp inside, but they cut them into manageable pieces to eat. Nice touch. Flavor was in another reality it was so good. Next up.... Crab Claws. Arrived covered in bacon to my surprise. I don't read description to remain shocked. It was a different preparation than I have ever had with all of the bacon, but they were tasty. None of the toppings would really stick so I found my self piling them up in a claw and hastily trying to shove it in my mouth before it fell off. At this point, we were near food injury and although we had planned on entrees, there was no way either of us could eat any more. We snagged the free crème brûlée for C's birthday and got the check. We visited on 5/1 with a party of 6 and sat on the patio. Let me just say--everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. My Old Fashioned was perfect, and the crab oysters (I added shallots) were super yummy. Everyone at my table truly enjoyed their meals as well, and there wasn't a single disappointment in the bunch. Our party was large, the appetizer arrived fast. It was a chilly day but we were surrounded on all sides of the table by standalone top down heaters which kept us feeling amazing throughout the meal. The architecture of the building is remarkable. Every server was smiling, held doors, and were friendly. Our server, Hunter, was great, we didn't have an empty glass of water the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Lastly, the Shrimp Scampi Melt I tried was perfect for what I paid and as expected with what was listed on the menu. My special-of-the-day Flounder Sandwich was bland (under seasoned), and my partner's shrimp scampi sandwich had more bread than filling. The oddest part of the meal was the environment: it appeared that every employee was in a hurry and carrying something, such as multiple large bags of ice or gallons of water, from one end of the restaurant, through the guest tables to the other side. We dined on the beautiful outdoor patio of the Coastal Fish Company on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon, and were blown away by the scenic view of Patriot Lake. With a school of geese waddling in and out of the lake beside us, we leisurely enjoyed our lunch. Our server, Landon, was especially kind and polite. We tried the Blue Crab Claws and the Louisiana Spiced Redfish. Both dishes ordered were mildly seasoned, which to us was excellent as we've been eating quite salty at other restaurants lately.
