Total failure. If zero stars were an option, that's what I would give. On Thursday, I received a confirmation email stating: "Your transportation is booked!" along with a confirmation number (#153869) for a 5:00 a.m. pickup the following Sunday to catch an early flight to the West Coast. I also noticed a $1.00 authorization charge on my American Express card to verify the payment method. Everything appeared confirmed and in order. At 10:00 p.m. Saturday night, I emailed to verify that they had my cell phone number. Instead of a simple confirmation, I received a phone call at 11:55 p.m. informing me that my reservation had been canceled earlier in the week. The problem: nobody ever notified me. No email. No phone call. No voicemail. They simply canceled the reservation internally while leaving me with a confirmation number and every reason to believe I had transportation scheduled. With only five hours until pickup time, it was impossible to secure another car service, and Uber availability at my location was extremely limited that early in the morning. As a result, I missed my flight, missed a Mother's Day family dinner, and had to pay $340 to rebook my ticket. When I called the company the next business day seeking an explanation, I was transferred between three different people and ultimately never received a return call or email. Mistakes happen. Failing to notify a customer that you've canceled a confirmed reservation, especially for an airport pickup, is unacceptable. Failing to follow up afterward is even worse. I would never trust this company for transportation where timing matters. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR TRANSPORTATION. We used coastal limo for transportation during my wedding last week and our driver was down right disrespectful...not just to me, but my mom, the best man, and several others in our wedding party. The driver refused to turn the radio on because he said he would not be able to hear if police officers were trying to pull him over...meanwhile, he was speeding the entire ride where 1 guest actually fell off her seat going around a turn. When I told him I paid a hefty price and wanted music to celebrate my wedding, he gave me a rude response while throwing an "F" bomb at me. After the wedding, we had guests going downtown to an after party and he refused transportation for any guests carrying alcohol (South Carolina allows opened containers on "hired charter vehicles" so this isn't true). We unfortunately needed to uber downtown instead. When I asked for a refund, I did not receive a timely response from the company. When I asked if they could return our belongings that were left on the bus, I was told twice (5 days apart) that they are looking into it and needed to await a response from the driver which had not been given. There are plenty of other companies in the area. Please go with someone else. read more

I am coach a part of a collegiate university and we partner with Coastal Limo during the season as our chartered traveling company! We send in our schedule for the season to the company and within a week of traveling, we send an itinerary for what the traveling day will look like! Our most recent trip with Coastal Limo was for conference tournament. Our scheduled day was Thursday - Sunday. We had our driver for the time being but then was switched last minute! Our new driver was Mr. Al! Upon arrival, Mr. Al was informed that the schedule would fluctuate due to weather and outcomes of games! He had no issue with being super available and flexible for us! The first day of the tournament was canceled due to inclement weather which caused an additional day to our stay and Mr. Al was on standby for us most of the day. He was excited, patient and happy to do what was asked! He would take us to all the places and help with load/unload the bus. He encouraged our players and ensured we would come out the tournaments as winners! He would come watch the games and celebrate the smalls wins with us! We ended us winning the conference tournament and we want to thank Mr. Al for being our driver! He helped our trip go smoothly and his encouragement was very much felt! My husband and I had a horrible experience with Coastal for our airport transfers. We wanted our trip to be as low stress as possible so we planned ahead and booked with coastal. The drive to the hotel was great, until we arrived. We were left on the sidewalk - no better than an Uber. If you pay for an executive car service you expect to be dropped at the front door, not hike it half a block with your bags. I was willing to let that go until our return trip four days later. We never received a confirmation email, text or driver arrival text as we did on our arrival. It didn't occur to me until midnight and I hardly slept. Our car was scheduled for 6am on a Sunday. I was absolutely panicked and thankfully the concierge was able to call a taxi. As we made our way downstairs to catch a cab, a car from coastal shows up for us. At that point I would have rather taken a cab. The driver gave a halfhearted excuse and away we sped (literally). We did eventually receive the confirmation email for the trip... at 7:30am. That same morning I called to let them know how disappointed we were in the transfers. They said perhaps my email address or phone number was entered incorrectly (it was not, I received my other confirmations 4 day prior). I was promised an expedient return call to resolve the issue and never received one. I thought perhaps they would comp me the cost of one transfer but they decided today to charge me for the second trip. Save yourself the stress and money: book and Uber to your hotel, and ask your hotel to book a taxi for the ride to the airport. read more

When I need a ride my time is valuable and the safety of me and my party is priority number one. Coastal Limo has never let me down, even when I call and need a rapid pickup. It is a small fleet, and I always get the same driver, Brendan, who is professional and personal. He is always on time and knows exactly how we to get me where I need to be. I like the flat rate pricing for trips downtown, because it's so much easier to plan for regardless of who manages to make it out with me or who we end up picking up while out. I usually end up in the van. It's spacious, clean, and comfortable. I like the privacy of the tinted windows and the cool ambient lighting inside. Extremely easy to work with - I had a trip planned about 2 weeks ahead of time for a Thursday night from Folly to North Charleston which went swimmingly. ...Even after we extended our pickup time for our return trip by 45 minutes that night. Realized that they would be more reliable than Uber from Folly for a trip to Charleston on Saturday. Called them day of asking for a "now" ride for 12. Somehow they managed to send a 20 person party bus 45 minutes later to make our weekend one for the record books. The driver made the bachelor do some pretty funny things before we could leave the house, which added some hilarious character to the trip. Great group of people from drivers to the dispatcher. 100% recommend. read more

The owner Matt is very nice and Amanda we started out rough because they accidentally double charged us which is tough when ur a few days out from your wedding every penny counts. But Matt was really nice and everyone makes mistakes. The day the Limo driver picked us up he told us he was outside so our entire bridal party walked outside. He was no where so I called him he told me he was at my address he was not. He was sooooo annoyed with me saying he's lived here for 30 years he can't believe this that I was wrong to the point of yelling that I had to say please calm down sir I'm baking in the sun with a group of woman and children and your yelling at me. I walked him through where I was for 25-30 minutes outside while he was so angry and rude.. I was so stressed out because he was now late for our pick up time. I sent him a pin drop of my location hoping it would help. He finally arrived. Opened the door for us no smile no hello I was so upset that he didn't even say sorry that I said to him where were u and he said obviously not here. Then I said to him this is my wedding day and your being so rude to me and ruining my day. The fact that I was having this conversation still blows my mind. We were sweating from waiting outside in the sun for so long we got into the Limo and omg it smelt like they just transported farm animals. The ac didn't work and we were so late we could no longer have him go back and pick up the groomsmen. I quickly emailed Coastal Limo, and just as quickly received an email back from the owner saying they would be happy to help. Not only did that make my blood pressure return to normal in my state of panic, but the VIP board members absolutely raved about the driver Mike, when they arrived at dinner. So much so that they were very adamant about bringing him some garlic bread as a treat! I was highly impressed by the quick responses and the willingness to answer any and all of my questions. They were extremely organized and were great with their follow up. The limo arrived a few minutes early which I love and the ride was easy and effortless. Everyone was so excited when the limo pulled up as many had never even been in one! At the end of the evening, the limo arrived early again and the driver was incredible....he offered to help clean up the reception and pack up our decor for us and put into my car. I have never heard of that or seen that before but it was a HUGE help and I truly appreciated it! They were prompt, super friendly, very accommodating and patient with our 11 girl entourage. We ordered a one-way ride for 4 people from Isle of Palms to Downtown Charleston for dinner. Uber pick-ups on the island aren't always available, so we were glad we reserved ahead with Coastal Limo. Our van arrived early and drove safely. I did try to online reserve and didn't hear back, but spoke with someone right away when I called. I booked a bus for a bachelor party months ago and was treated very well during the reservation process as they were willing to work with our arrangements and scheduling needs. On the day of the pick up the driver was 30 min early, waited patiently for the group to get out to the bus, and safely got us to our destination.
