The week before the appointment he was called and his appointment changed and rescheduled for the following week...then the morning of the appointment after changing our plans rescheduling other commitments the office calls and let's us know the doctor has decided not to see him that he looked over his notes and decided there was nothing he could do for him. He has never gotten a diagnosis from a neurologist and his primary care physician had suggested seeing you. If you (Dr.Poston) didn't want to help them why waste three months of our time waiting on this appointment. Three months he has suffered with nerve pain and been awaiting an appointment to try and get answers. He could have seen someone else by then. You (Dr. Poston) delayed his care and made him suffer waiting and seeking another professional for nothing. He had new symptoms by the time his appointment had come around and you would have know that if you hadn't canceled the appointment he waited 3 months for on the morning of the appointment! Doctors are suppose to do no harm. You have done harm. If there was nothing you could do then at least for his mental health (which is strained from the constant nerve pain) it would have been courteous of you to at least hear him out and tell him so in person at the appointment he waited 3 months for (it wouldn't have wasted his money insurance had approved of the visit...and you obviously don't care about wasting his time) or to have told him 3 months ago. I sincerely hope your reasoning for not seeing him that day was genuine, and not because you didn't want to come back from lunch. So to all who have read this take your appointment time with a grain of salt. Dr.Poston does not seem to care about his patients time.

(Parking in the tower is $3 with an appointment.) On the date of my appointment, the receptionists were kind and caring. The neurology floor lobby is freshly updated, modern, spacious, and clean. The nurse and neurologist spent an adequate amount of time with me to truly hear my concerns before developing a plan. So far, I am impressed with MUSC's neurology.

I wish I could provide a five star review for MUSC Neurology department - sadly, I cannot and will…read morenot. My personal experience with the Nurse Practitioner, Katie Smith, was positive but I cannot say the same for many on her staff. Instead of keeping me up to date and informed in a timely on my tests results, along with, providing accurate information, weeks would go by without a returned phone call. When I could get someone on the phone they were more often than not, unapologetic and rude. My requests for basic info re: my care went unanswered for weeks on end - not a returned phone call or email. Imagine being unable to reach anyone at your physicians office when you are in pain and need medication or would like test results and you are told "someone will get back to you" and, yet, no one does. I was warned that MUSC Neurology was difficult to deal with - I wish I had listened - It would have saved me alot of stress. Bottom line: I felt unimportant and that I was a bother --my needs were not a priority.

Very disappointed in this clinic. My husband was seen there back on December 6th. The doctor told…read moremy husband that he needed further testing to determine what has been going on behind my husband's eye. They were supposed to call us so we could schedule that appointment. After several weeks of not hearing anything, I called myself to try and get someone to call and schedule the appointment. Never heard anything. I even went back to the original eye doctor who referred my husband to your clinic, to resend over the referral, hoping to spark your clinic to follow-up on this appointment being scheduled. We have heard absolutely NOTHING! In the meantime, my husband's eye continues to get worse. Very disappointing. I thought you guys would have done better!
