A store. A store that exclusively sells olive oil & balsamic vinegar. A huge store that exclusively sells flavoured artisan olive oil & balsamic vinegar. This is my happy place. If I was ever stranded on a dessert island, I could happily survive off of baguette, olive oil & balsamic vinegar. And avocados. And scotch. ... I suppose that's more "all inclusive" then camp/danger times but you get the gist: fancy condiments make me exceptionally gleeful. Hands down, my favourite "stumble upon" find of the year, this massively large, bright and almost industrial looking store is well worth making a dive off the highway when your ferry and/or Point Bob bound. Tsawwassen resident? You lucky bast*rd. Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar. I wasn't kidding. That's all they have. Save the one little table up front of soaps made from (you guessed it) olive oil and balsamic vinegar... They have oils and vinegars from over there and right around the corner. Virgin, cold pressed, international tasty times galore. Rows upon rows and tables upon tables of oils and vinegars with tiny tasting spouts, where you can taste to your hearts content, bread provided. I left exceptionally full. Highlights: Honey & Ginger white balsamic vinegar - light and sweet with a kick Blood Orange Olive Oil with Dark Chocolate balsamic. Oh dear god. All natural aged Tahitian vanilla balsamic paired with Chipotle olive oil. Sweet and spicy. Oh double dear god. Organic Tuscan Herb Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil - because... that's just fancy. But the one that won me wholeheartedly: All Natural Aged Cinnamon Pear Balsamic. This bad boy is sweet with a hint of that cinnamon spice. Perfectly balanced with the hit of vinegar. It's the balsamic that little baby salads one day hope to meet. On mixed greens with fresh blueberries? OH GOD. I can't even talk about how good it is with brie and baguette. It makes me tear up a little. And the price point? Super reasonable. I can't quite remember as I was suffering from happy overload at the time, but my bottle ran about $12. What an asset this is for Delta! Their olive oils from Australia are as good as what you can buy in specialty food shops. You can bring back your washed bottle for refills, which is great for sustainability. Their plain balsamic vinegar is amazing. Please use this shop. I would hate to lose them! read more

The all too familiar phrase "how do you know you don't like them, if you won't even try them?" 11 yrs old & hanging out(now known as play date) with my best friend at her house. She has opened her parents coveted bottles of black & green olives and tells me how much I am going to love them. I bite into the green one which I cant spit out fast enough. I guzzled the waiting glass of fully homogenized milk(no one drank water back then) to wash away the taste and she says "ok, now time for the black one!" Same, only convinced now this was a mean girl tactic to end our friendship. Years later on a night out with numbed senses, I think yes, I am a big girl now & will try this again. Only difference after spitting them out was the type of beverage to extricate the foul taste left in my mouth. And now I bring you to the present. Coastal Olive Oils was the aversion therapy I needed. The ambience of the store reflects the vision the owner had when she chose to open this little shop of culinary delights. I was open to trying every balsamic vinegar she had to offer. Upon her urging I relented & allowed her to mix an oil or two with the vinegar for me to try. I left the store with 3 bottles of oil & 5 balsamic vinegars. I am not so certain that I am ready to bite into an olive just yet. However, not a meal gets cooked in my house without 1 or both of her products. People say you cannot love an inanimate object. I beg to differ. read more

New to the area and was checking out all the little shops. Came into here and found a few cute things I wanted to buy but left empty handed because the two old ladies working refused to acknowledge me what so ever and stood there gossiping the entire 10 minutes I was there. read more
