My grandson's 2001 Ford Taurus broke down off I-95 at Yemassee. AAA towed it to Coastal Transmission late on Good Friday night, and we drove down and took grandson and girlfriend back to our Aiken home. The Coastal owner was there on Saturday (though they are closed) and contacted my son-in-law to discuss repairs. Their crew put grandson's car to the head of the list and worked diligently all week to get parts and fix 20 years worth of troubles. Finally ready to go, and we drove back on Saturday, 4/23/22, to drop them off in Beaufort - and they continued home to Pittsburgh. Cannot say enough good things about Mike and his crew, who really came through to get grandson's car back on the road, in good condition. They kept everyone informed of progress, made the repairs in record time, and (in my opinion) charged a fair price. Thanks Mike! read more

Superior Service, Quality Work, They Go Above and Beyond and Deserve More Than 5 Stars Our car broke down on Good Friday and was towed to Coastal Transmission. Mike, the owner, called me on Saturday with a diagnosis and repair plan. The transmission needed to be rebuilt and it would take 1 week to complete. They began working on the car right away, and Mike and Nicole kept me updated throughout the week. Even with additional issues that needed to be addressed, the car was ready when promised and we safely finished the 700 mile drive home. My family and I are extremely appreciative of the efforts of everyone at Coastal Transmission to get us out of a jam and back on the road ASAP and highly recommend them!! read more

Was on vacation when reverse went out on my Cummins truck. Came here to try to get some help. First of all, the know it all lady working the front asked if my CUMMINS truck was a 1500 or 2500... they didn't even make a 1500...... then asked me if it was a 5.3L Cummins.... come on..... so after I corrected her and told her what I thought might be going on she laughed in my face and I asked why she was laughing and she told me that she knew that wasn't what was wrong with my truck.. after making me feel stupid and laughing in my face I had had enough. Turns out I was right about what was wrong with my truck. I recommend staying away from this crappy business. read more

Car developed a grinding noise; took to mechanic who diagnosed transmission;got prices on rebuild from $1700 to $4000.; emails to Mike at Coastal transmission were answered with a degree of cockiness; dropped vehicle off Tuesday AM expecting rudeness based upon these reviews & prepared to spend their estimated $1700. to $1900. for a rebuilt/installed; both Mike & Nicole very pleasant; got call around noon-transmission is fine-it is the starter that is making the noise; picked up vehicle mid-afternoon - had a few laughs with both; actually a pleasant experience; he could have done a transmission job & we'd be none the wiser; very pleased with the outcome. read more

Called just to ask a question regarding transmission concerns, and spoke with the Owner and Office staff named N****e. They were both THE RUDEST AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND OBNOXIOUS people I have ever spoken with from a Business!! If doing good work is their specialty (I will never know), their bottom line will definitely be impacted if they don't know how to talk to people, let alone a potential customer. Take it from a Business Owner such as myself: 1)take a vacation if you need one 2) hire professional staff 3) learn Customer service skills!!
