I'm over 5 years late in doing this, but I was shocked to see the reviews here. My husband had…read morebladder cancer and Dr. Williams was the very best doctor ever!!! There was no doubt he cared about us, and his care was very important to him. I pray I never need him, but if I do, I know I'll be in great care. To add, everyone in that practice made us feel welcome and we knew we had the best information and care, even if we weren't sure what to ask, or what to do. They all guided us through it all. Thank you, Dr. Williams, and your wonderful staff there are UofV. I can never repay you. Cola Register

Reviewing a doctors office is a tad weird but here we are! I booked an appointment with Urology of…read moreVA due to getting a kidney stones. The location is located in a new designed building in the heart of Suffolk. They are located on the second floor. Prior to arriving, I was sent text messages about checking in. I was able to upload my ID and insurance cards and fill out any important information from my phone at least 2 days prior to my appointment. When I arrived there was a about 5 people ahead of me and the line was out the door. Whereas that would normally be a nightmare, it was actually because of social distancing guidelines-- which we love! Everyone is required to wear a mask. The wait was perfect. (Granted, I thought my appointment was at 10:15 not 10:50-totally my fault, so I was inside longer). I was in and out of my appointment in 30 mins. 1000000/10 recommend if you are having any urology issues.

My experience with Urology of VA is at their VB Office. The medical staff is excellent, this why I…read morechose them. However, the office and staff are not. I preregister and pre-pay my deductible online (for what reason I do not know) only to be told I have to wait in a line with +15 (coughing, sneezing, wheezing) people to "check in" for a simple blood draw. Please, someone tell me why I waste my time pre-registering if I have to wait in line behind those that don't, all the time waiting while they fish around in their personal effects looking for their insurance card / ID or chit-chat with the intake coordinator showing family photos, etc. Ridiculous! 2-lines; one for those that preregister and 1 for those who do not.... efficiency people! On other visits, I found myself standing in front of the intake coordinator while they made me wait as they scroll through their Facebook page, seriously!? One time, the Dr. was over 1.5 hours late, due to a board meeting. When my wife approached the intake coordinator (second time in 1.5 hours) and asked for an update, the person behind the glass raised her voice saying, "I TOLD YOU BEFORE ........" well, you can only imagine. To the Practice Manager- I understand good people are hard to find. However, so are good patients that pay their bills! Suggest you take a good look at your staff, you know who and where the problems exist, so you need to make those hard decisions. Remember, you and your staff are not the revenue generators, you are support / overhead. If the influx of patients slows down because of your team, doctors and staff will be forced to leave, resulting in a lesser need for your team's services. Hope this helps!

Where to begin as to why I would not recommend Urology of Virginia. How about at where the…read moredissatisfaction begins, calling the office, good luck. Be pepared to wait on hold. When the phones are answered, if they are answered, good luck getting help. Appointments take forever , once you are finally able to get in if you go to the Va beach location, may the force be with you, if you get into Suffolk then the front desk is amazing. Now onto the drs. I would be much happier with my care if there was more time with my Dr. if he wasn't seeing me plus every other patient in the 7 cities. The monopoly they have has taken away from the patients. Wait times on test results are ridiculous, I'm currently dealing with kidney stones ( as I have since my diagnosis) so I know what they feel like and what happens as far as infections. It may be next week before I'm even called. They once let my 70 year old dad go for 10 days with severe infection! I am currently scheduled to see a new Dr at MCV in Richmond. I'd highly suggest traveling a bit for better care. I've sat in pain, delt with terrible infections and waited way too many times for this practice. Good luck to yall. Maybe if we all go elsewhere they will clean up their act. Until then, good luck to all.
