I should have read the reviews before coming here. I had the heels replaced on a pair of boots. I only needed one heel fixed, but he told me to fix both or it would look odd, so it ended up being $20. It was done a day early, so I just picked them up. I noticed that the heel wasnt competely painted, or whatever it is that they do so I mentioned it to the lady working, and she said it was fine and laughed at me and said, "I can't believe you're worried about something like that." I just said ok, thank you, and left. I understand that the heel will get scuffed up with wear, but I'm paying for a service and I feel like the work was done half heartedly. I usually go to the shoe repair in the mall, but I wanted to try this place out. Well, I learned my lesson. Definitely go to the repair store in the mall, they do much better work. read more

DESTROYED MY CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTINS!!! A perfect example of how not to run a business. Took my $700 designer shoes in to be covered in a clear sole to try and protect the designer red sole longer while still enjoying the signature red sole. Without letting me even finish what I was asking for, decides to write in permanent marker on said soles bc he assumed I wanted to put an ugly red rubber protector on them... And then can't get the permanent marker off, and doesn't care at all to compensate me in anyway for destroying signature part of said shoes. I will be bringing him to small claims court read more

I gave my boots in to get a tiny but streached at the calf, and when i came in the boots were stretched at the ankle and stretched a ton at the calf to the point that the leather ripped on the inside. I literally cried when I saw what they did to them. The owner refused to pay for a new pair of boots as these were beyond repair (even though these were $350 boots and were on sale for $100 and that is all I asked for). I'm a return customer. I went in today with my brand new perfectly white sneakers to hopefully have a grommet put on that was missing on one. As I was showing the owner, he put his shoe polish hands on the inside and they were getting dirty. I said, Please be careful with your hands, the sneakers are getting dirty. He said, "I didn't do that, it was like that already." I said, Are you joking? No, he made a big deal and kept lying saying he didn't dirty the sneakers. He told me to get out and go somewhere else! He made me cry, what a way to treat your customer. It's a shame this guy is so busy- Beware... I think this guy is arrogant! I'm finding a new place. read more

Told us as soon as we come in he will happily put the lifts on my boots. Sure enough we showed up about an hour after we were supposed to and he had no problem helping me out and putting my lifts on right away. They do great work !! My dog damaged my boots and totally messed up the zipper and liner. I didn't think it would be fixable but he managed to replace the entire zipper and the inside lining which I wasn't expecting them to. I can't even tell anything was done, it looks perfect ! As for the quality/ lasting I don't know as I haven't had them back for that long. The pricing is a bit on the higher side to replace the zippers on my boots was $45. So I wouldn't recommend fixing cheap shoes as the price is high. Only reason I knocked off 1 star was they said it would be done a specific date but it ended up being a day later. If you're in a rush to get them back they could prob expedite it. Overall would def come here for all my shoe repairs !! read more

Terrible job fixing heels on orthopedic shoes! He didn't listen to what I wanted done. I had worn down one side and wanted the heel to be even. He gave them back at an angle, then yelled at me and told me I was cheap because I didn't want the entire sole replaced. There was nothing wrong with the rest of the sole! This shop was the only one I could find that would take in the calves on a pair of leather boots. I have legs like a chicken, and so always have to get this done to any boots I buy. I've never had a problem finding someone to take on the job in the other states I've lived in, but apparently this is not the done thing in central NJ! So the owner at Cobbler + Tailor not only adjusted my boots for a reasonable price, he did a great job. You can't even tell that the boots didn't come out of the store like that. read more

I live in Texas. I bought a pair of Prada boots; I spent more on them than I have ever spent on any garment or accessory in my entire life, including my wedding dress. When I received them, I discovered to my great dismay that the left boot refused to go all of the way up my left leg. Apparently, my left calf, perhaps from driving standard vehicles and using the clutch regularly, is about a quarter to a half an inch larger than the right calf. I have never had this problem with boots. Usually, they are too large for my legs. Anyway, in vain, I searched for someone who could add something to the boots to make them larger on the inside, zipper-side of the boot. Everywhere in Texas refused to touch the boots, for fear of ruining them; as I mentioned, they are Prada and extremely well-made. Finally, I found a gentleman, Nelson, all the way in New Jersey at Cobbler Tailor Shoe Repair who was not only willing to take on the task, but very conscientious about doing it well. I sent the boots to him, and he sent me pictures of what he would do, during the process, and after the job was completed. His work was exemplary and fast! I could not be more pleased! He is an example of someone who truly cares about what he does; Nelson is an artisan, and I am singing his praises to the universe!
