I'm back as promised! I came here a few weeks ago to drop off my shoes to get the the heel tips replaced! After I checked in the first time, I read the reviews and was so mortified. Here is my take: Other than being pretty expensive, the quality of work is mediocre at best. Luckily these red bottoms are not my favorites or I may have cried. I've added pictures. So rewind to when I dropped them off, I was charged $40 per pair for the Christian Louboutins to be fixed. I literally asked them why it was so expensive and the man stated he uses the same heel tip as the designer. Sigh!! My Fendi heels were a little cheaper, they were $30. So other than being expensive it's safe to say the heel tips are NOT designer! The quality of work is okay but there is now black paint on my red bottom. Thankfully no one will know but me but I'd hate to wear these somewhere fancy and be crossing my legs and show the bottom. Well, luckily I was able to get my shoes back. read more

I guess because of the loud machines it might difficulties to hear‍ but Derek is very knowledgeable. I've had shines and soles and heels replaced. They do it the same day if there's reasonable time or ready by the next. Work looks good, but it doesn't last. I have several pairs of work heels that I've brought in for heel replacement multiple times over the first few months (red flag) but recently it seems like I'm bringing them in after every two or three wears (red flag #2). I travel often for work, so this is beyond inconvenient. Moreover, the heels haven't been worn down... they've been decimated. They either look like they've been chewed up, or they end up bent and contorted in the most unfathomable of ways (red flag, red flag red flag). Strangely enough.. it's always just one heel. So either they are using cheap materials, not installing the replacement heels correctly, or both. Once I had to bring a heel back the next day because the replacement was so badly damaged after less than an hour of wear. Perhaps they are not installing the nail of the replacement heel securely into the heel shaft, and as a result it slips out and gets bent as I walk. I don't this for certain, but that's what it looks like. What I do know is that this has happened way too many times to be just a coincidence, so I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere. I don't have time, money, or energy to waste on shoddy work. read more

Easy Birkenstock repair, but actually probably more expensive than sending your Birkenstocks to the official company repair shop in Oregon on birkenstockexpress.com. My Birkenstocks needed new soles since the tread was just about completely gone and the sole itself was looking quite thin, plus they could do with some cork resealant and polishing. The Birkenstock official repair company charges $75 for the whole deal- new sole, new footbed, cork sealant, and polishing. Getting just the sole would be $45. This place charged $75 just for the new sole. The big advantage here is that I'm going on a trip soon and he could fix the shoes in 1 day, whereas the company store would have kept them for 3-4 weeks. No complaints about the quality of the work he did on the sole. read more

This place is highway robbery. They wanted to charge $16 to put four holes in my sandals. Last time I use this place they charged $$$$ to replace the soles and heels on my boots but "forgot" to do one of them. This is a cash only establishment and I find it suspicious. The reason I'm giving them a 2 is because 1 star because they fixed my shoes and well another star just because. Honestly there is this sign (see picture) on the counter which states that there is a $2 fee for lost tickets and an additional 15min wait. I came with my ticket and he couldn't find my shoes and I still waited 15 min as he tried to figure out where my shoes were. The back of the store is not well maintained and shows are dispersed everywhere one on top of another. Honestly I won't be going there again I'm sure I can find better. read more

Never leave your pairs if you want to take a good care of them. I left my pairs of long boots and pumps to replace soles. I paid total of $55 which included buffing of my boots. A week later when I came back to pick them up, I just could not believe how they treated my long boots. They put both pairs into a small plastic shopping bag. Not the size of plastic bag at grocery stores. It was not that big. It was the size of small takeout from a Chinese restaurant. They folded my long boots into 2 and my pumps. This is not acceptable. My beautiful Ralph Lauren boots now has ugly creases all over. I asked for money back or a discount for damaging them, but of course they refused. I have been going to the same shoe repair shop for over 30 years but my last trip there messed up an insole repair on a pair of sandals. I decided to try Cobblers Bench in City Place based on neighborhood recommendations and am really pleased. The poor quality work was 'undone' and the repairs completed exactly as needed and within the time I was promised. It was obvious he thought about the best way to complete the repair for both appearance and comfort. Perhaps this was pricier than where I have gone before but the quality work was worth it. I've taken a few pair of shoes here previously with no major issues but a recent repair left me feeling frustrated. I had a pair of black leather booties that had a slight tear in the leather seam that needed repair. When I dropped off them off the clerk asked if I also wanted a polishing and I said I didn't because the boots were soft leather just needed a wipe down. He acknowledged this and said they would repair the tear. When I went to pick them up a few days later, the tear was fixed (hence the two stars) but they had polished the boot which 1) was what i didn't want 2) was uneven and sloppy. I realize this was a misunderstanding but I'm really disappointed because these boots weren't meant to be this shiny and will be really expensive to replace. read more

We left quite a bit of work there. A couple of purses and three pair of shoes. The purses to be mended at the handles. Shoes to be streched and cleaned. When I picked everything up they did everything but clean the shoes. They were curt and abrupt when I brought it to their attention. The man I was speaking with turned his back on me.
