Several people I was dining with had the Cajun style walleye. They also received hearty portions and said it was really good. I have to tie our bar choices to our experience with our waitress. She was a young girl. She was very nice. Whoever trained her (or didn't train her) is responsible for her shortcomings. The poor girl had no idea about anything served at the bar. People at my table had to go up to the bar to look at the beers offered and to look at which liquors were available. First, the young lady should have been instructed to say, "Let me check on that". Secondly, someone could have helped her with a cheat sheet. It was an awkward 5 minutes of drink orders. Again, not her fault but failure by whoever "trained" her. Overall, the drinks were good. Another "training" failure was our waitress not returning to see if anyone needed anything or to see if another round of drinks was needed. No one to blame but management for not giving our young waitress the chance to provide exceptional service. Would I return? Indeed. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. If the manager did right by their employees, it would have been a truly great experience.

There is a video information board behind the front desk that announces General Managers name, Hotel Amenities like the Beer & Wine Bar, and Guest Laundry Services. I try to use the stairs instead of the elevator when going to hotel rooms and they were conveniently up front near the lobby. I noticed that both the front entry and stairs door were key carded for guest security. That's always good. The room was quite clean, and absent of any odor. Amenities included a comfortable bed, decent pillows, large flatscreen tv with cable tv, plugins with usb on the nightstand to charge mobile devices, etc, a room safe, and coffeemaker stocked with "Seattles Best" and assorted Teavana Teas. In the morning the hotel has a pretty typical complimentary breakfast. Best part was a new commercial Keurig coffee machine that grinds the Starbucks/Seattles Best beans fresh and to order. I'm a regular black coffee guy, but that machine offers French Vanilla, Cappuccino, Espresso, Cafe Mocha, Mochaccino, and Hot Chocolate for people who like that sort of thing. Good hotel, I would stay here again.

The TV didn't work when we first got in but after about 10 minutes and new batteries, we were good to go. The ceilings are thin. We heard someone running up and down the hallway on the floor above us on Friday morning very, very early so couldn't really sleep in. The breakfast was okay but they did have a waffle station which was appreciated. Highly suggest sticking with the brewed coffee in the machine or the room. As we booked via the Knot to get the room block rate, we weren't allowed to get a receipt upon checkout. Frustrating and we were told different things by different people but ended up not getting anywhere with Cobblestone. Minor discrepancy on our charge from the quoted amount but we didn't feel like anything was going to happen given the issues with the receipt. All in all, it was an okay stay for the price. Just be prepared for a few bumps along the way.
