*** "CHILLI" *** Issues 2 x's recently Previously was never a complaint, service with a beautiful smile. I been ordering quart chilli w/o noodles, but this day I was going to friend's to share so I was getting 1/2 gallon and for some reason while chatting with the counter/cashier lady, she talked me into getting it with noodles, I said I don't like noodles, but she said she would only put a little in opened it up at home and I been bragging how good it was, but after trying to fill my bowl, then two bowls, 'IT WAS 95% NOODLES'.... I was pissed, grabbed another bowl, filled it with 'can you guess?' with more noodles, I pushed aside what noodles were yet in the container, there was another bowl amount , I scooped under that to get to the meat/sauce and put it on the bowls of Noodles, well, guess I'm having spaghetti , put some on the other bowl and put a cover on it for day two. It took a few days before eating that 2nd bowl as i noticed there was a Bad Taste, though out the3rd bowl, and started eating what Chilli was left and it still tasted bad for some reason, my guess is the noodles were Not drained properly and mixing that much water into the chilli made it more of a juice base chilli, well, I stomached eating the rest, probably about 2weeks to finish it, didn't want to come back again, thought possibly a new cook?.... Well, I went back today, it was my turn to buy the meal, after work thinking, No Noodles, I'll try again, she asked me a second time not being sure of my 1st refusal to add noodles, got to my friends, scooped out the good chilli into 3 bigger bowls, and we added cheese, sat down to eat until a few minutes into come to find a HAIR, it was Brown, 5" maybe? Which None of us had, their hair were black, his short, hers longer, mine was also longer but have mostly gray.... my friend ran to the bathroom wanting to throw-up, grabbing their bowls, she headed straight to the garbage as I followed suit.... It killed our hunger, but she pulled out a package of brats and heated up for us to nibble on threw the movie.... too much talk about the Hair, and I informed them about my probably more than half a gallon of noodles I got a few weeks prior. I was then thinking I had to do a review, the place has always been better than a 7 out of 10, but maybe they have a new cook? Not sure if i want to try again, stomachs turning just writing this. As another review noted, The Rite Place offers a plate of perch magic. So many places in Wisconsin offer a Friday perch plate, but only a few actually have that melt in your mouth deliciousness. I ordered a double plate and got a plateful of perfectly battered and fried filets. We visited around 3 on a Friday afternoon and the place was already starting to fill up with the early dinner crew. We found ourselves on the "younger" side of the diners, which doesn't happen often anymore. Reasonable prices and just good food. We saw a fried chicken plate at another table that looked just as good as our fish. I've heard good things about The Rite Place and now that I've made it there I can say the good things I heard have been verified. A definite must stop for a Wisconsin Friday fish plate. read more

I sat at the bar for a quick dinner on a Monday night. I got a beer and scanned the menu looking for some sort of non-fried fish. The steamed haddock is the only one available, so I went with that. There were only 2 options available for the potato tht night - fries or broasted, so I got fries. The haddock came out and was a very large, meaty piece of fish. The fries were good, and the coleslaw was kind of run of the mill. The rye bread slice was fantastic! The haddock is served with a large container of melted butter and a smaller one of tartar sauce. I opted for just the tartar sauce and got a bit more to manage the big piece of fish. Service was pretty good, and the food came out pretty quickly. Prices were VERY reasonable. All in all pretty good, with a lot of items to choose from. read more

Excellent service, clean and bright dining room, really good menu, especially the draught beer. I had the fried haddock with fries, which included excellent tartar sauce and Cole slaw, and a nice slice of buttered pumpernickel bread. It was served piping hot and was delicious. My husband enjoyed the steamed haddock with baked potato and sour cream. The piece of fish was huge! We had no room for dessert, so I can't report on it, but it looked delicious. The restrooms are very clean. There is ample parking and accommodations for the handicapped. Actually, we learned about The Rite Place from the cashiers at the Lambeau Field Pro Shop, who recommended it highly. read more

Busy lunch crowd on a Monday. Really happy with the quick and friendly service. Sat down at the bar, had my drink and my soup within minutes. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was piping hot. The star of my meal was the Chicken Booyah Soup (served everyday). Very tasty and filled with chicken and vegetables. Will most definitely be back for more of this! Also had a fish sandwich which was pretty basic. It was a square fish patty on a bun with lettuce and tarter. This is a regular stop for our Green Bay family members, who proclaim it has the best booyah in the area. Booyah is a type of stew and a regional favorite - an upper Midwestern thing. It is usually cooked over the course of a few days and made in large vats/kettles that can serve large groups. We've stopped in a handful of times and the food and service have always been consistently good. One of my favorites is the steak philly sandwich which comes with plenty of onions (and peppers if desired), tender steak and enough cheese for each bite. Hello perch plate magic. We thought we were going to miss out on a classic Friday evening fish fry before we left Wisconsin, but we couldn't have been more wrong. Thanks to the blue light special crew at Rite's. We actually stopped in to try Booyah when in Green Bay. And that was good/interesting/solid, but the reason to go back is their light cornmeal breading, fresh catch lake perch, and above average fries to complement. One of the most vile meals I've ever had the mispleasure of encountering. After wading through a menu of fried everything I settled on the grilled chicken breast with roasted potatoes and veggies. When it finally emerged from the kitchen nearly 30 minutes later it was obvious the 'roasted' potatoes were deep fried to reheat them as they were are blackish/brown color and oozed fry oil when I pressed on them. I took two bites of an overly salted and buttered chicken breast, that was oddly almost perfectly round, and I knew I was done with this place. They are apparently more concerned with cranking out countless plates of dreck than quality. read more

The WRONG PLACE! Avoid this dump at all costs. They try to RIP YOU OFF! I took my parents here. Tried to order their Broasted Chicken special. I was told they were out. It was 7 PM. The special was 5.99 all dark meat. I asked if they still had the Broasted Chicken Plate for 10.99, they said yes. Which raises the question...If Broasted Chicken is available, then why did they stop selling the special for 5.99? She had no answer. I said to her, you understand why I'm thinking your trying to rip me off yes? She replied, yes I can see why you think that. I said can you get someone here to tell me why I can't have the special if you still have Broasted Chicken. Another server came over, some guy, came rumbling over with his chest sticking out like he was getting ready for a fight, and said I'm not arguing with you we're out. I replied the same, can I order the Broasted Chicken plate for 10.99. He said yes, round and round we go. Which I posed the same question which he became belligerent, rude, and said that he didn't care he wasn't going to get into it, that we can't get the special. The Rite Place will try to RIP YOU OFF and force you to pay higher prices even if they still have the food. Avoid this dump at all costs. I'm writing a formal complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General's office. It's against the Law to advertise a special and not honor it or offer a rain check. My boyfriend's family and I went for a Friday Fish Fry. As a vegetarian, I got the veggie burger, which was OK. However, I should not be one to judge the food, as it is a fish restaurant, and it was considerate of them to even have a veggie burger in the first place. My boyfriend and his family all loved their fish, and it came with many sides. The waiter was very friendly and easy to talk to. Perfect little supper club/diner food. The booyah is great and so was everything else we tried. Sunday tends to get really busy so if you're headed in for lunch after church be prepared for a full restaurant. The owner was full of nothing but contempt and short, arrogant answers to simple questions. The only time she showed any type of courtesy was when we were agreeing to pay the never ending "add ons." We are visiting the area on business, decided to give Rite Place a try for lunch. We sat on the Bar n Grill side...at the bar. The service was excellent, cordial and quick. It looks like they have a loyal regular lunch crowd, always a good sign. Both my husband and I ordered the lite combo of soup and sandwich. We both hit the ham and bean soup. The soup came out fast. Although it was not exactly what we expected, out was really tasty with plenty of veggies in addition to the ham and beans. Ham and beans must have regional differences. We were thinking red or pinto beans with ham and some spice. But we were not disappointed, just surprised. We thought we would get a half sandwich each. Instead, we got full sized.
