Terry Bison Ranch Resort - Pellets

    Terry Bison Ranch Resort

This is the #1 recommended thing to do when visiting Cheyenne when doing any search and it…read moredefinitely makes sense. The Terry Bison Ranch is the only place I have ever heard about where you can hand feed Bison. They also have other things to do here. We got here an hour and a half before our train departed and we have plenty to do. They have lots of animals on this ranch from full grown ostriches and baby ones, a long horn cow, plenty of chickens, baby bison that you can pet, lots of horses, goats, and much more. On the ride over to feed the bison, they had a train robbery reenactment which was fun. The whole train ride takes about an hour to make sure to use the restrooms before getting on. It's a great place to bring kids. Prices were reasonable. $20 per adult $10 for kids to ride the train and $10 for bison feed which is a must. They give you a decent amount of food in the bag. No reservations needed you can buy tickets at the general store. There they have plenty of souvenirs to buy and can answer any questions you may have. An easy day trip from Denver. If you are on a roadtrip I'd recommend stopping here if you are heading to Wyoming from Colorado or vice versa.

Without all the running, screaming, trampling, and death required by those that wish to pet or touch bison in other locations. You Tube Bison Attacks Yellowstone to understand this reference. Now, Terry's allows feeding, petting and close up photography of their bison. The resort is a ranch and not the Four Seasons, so let's dial down our expectations and recognize the workings of the ranch. There will be dirt, poop, feathers, hair, urine, and unkempt struck and other things gentle folk may find unsavory. We found the ranch charming. We have experienced many close encounters with wild bison and most were less than rewarding, but exciting. Terry removes this. The train creaks, and groans into the herd. Windows open, and your bison friend pop up for food. You can touch them and enjoy close photos/videos. Kids will love this and animal lovers also. Your trip back the platform will provide some ranch insights and views of horse stables. That was our visit. You may also trail ride on horseback and even participate in dude ranching. We feel the ranch offered all it advertised and we will return with the little ones. Keep up the good work Terry and all the support it.

A really lousy, disappointing Super 8…read more Options were limited, but I thought I would give this Super 8 a try. It's located right off of I-80, which is convenient, but that's about the only bright side of this place. The first impression is that this place has a very stale, musty odor. It starts in the hallway, but is just about as bad, if not worse, in the room. To add insult to injury, there was a strong odor of pot on the lower level, not far from the lobby, which continued all night. The room looked promising, but I went to put my drinks in the fridge to find out that it was warm inside. After trying a few outlets and adjusting the dial, I concluded that the fridge was broken. I went to lay on the bed and I noticed that it was very hard and uncomfortable. I'm not too picky about beds, but this one was just awful. There was a very thin sheet under a stained, scratchy, thin, brown "blanket." It actually hurts to lay in this bed. The carpeted floor might be more comfortable. Speaking of comfort, the bath towels were of a very low quality material. If the bed was painful to sleep in, it was even worse to dry off after a shower. Oh yeah, the shower head needed to be replaced, as it was very rusty and squirted water out in all the wrong directions. One of the wash cloths had orange dots on it. It kind of looked like old blood. The A/C must have been on its last leg. I put it on 65F and it didn't do anything. I cranked it down to 62F on high and then it slowly started the cool the room down. Well, until it shut off about ten minutes later. Breakfast was very limited and the apples were old. To top it off, two of the housekeepers were yelling in the lobby area. Don't stay here!

Fridges, breakfast (including hot selections), TVs, all. I stayed on the second floor and that room was quiet. Quai. It. Hotel service was really friendly both evening and morning. The downside: It has that air conditioner type that turns off when it thinks the room is cool enough... and the sensor appears to be in the wrong place, so it thinks it's cool after a few minutes. And the fan thinks it's got the room to 80 degrees in a matter of seconds if you turn it on. I couldn't sleep right, because with the A/C selected it kept shutting the unit off and turning it on, disrupting noise. With the fan selected it got too hot. This hotel isn't for me, but honestly, other than the A/C, there are no complaints about it. Everything worked just fine. So as long as you think you can sleep through what I just described, this is the right hotel for you. Caveat emptor!
