1st impression- lack of professionalism. I would never recommend this place! I called for the first time to attempt to describe a repair the best I knew how. The man that answered the phone immediately snapped at me and said "what do you need". Instead of helping me, he hung up on me after I basically said I don't know how to describe, so not exactly sure what needs done. They are definitely living up to their low star staus! I probably should not even be writing this review since I had second thoughts about the level of service I would receive the day I left my shoes at this Cobblestone location. (Follow your first mind) I faithfully used this business for my shoe needs, basically because of the convenience, decades ago and stopped because of poor workmanship. .But hey, people deserve a second chance, right? The same reasons I am writing this review says NOT! At least not in this case. The pictures say it all!!! The owner had a terrible disposition and told me/ believed this was acceptable work. The shoe heels were scratched apparently when putting on the new heel cap. These are Gucci shoes and according to the owner required special "Gucci only" replacements. Close inspection of the heel cap prove that statement to be an untrue. The workmanship on the other heels...i have no words I can type in this review. So, the next time you have $50 to blow, save yourself a trip and just light a match!!! read more

I had a pair of work boots in need of new soles. I went to a competitor and was quoted $80 and 4 weeks to have the boots back. Cobblestone was closer to my house, so I took them in. The person working there looked at them, told me that the welts were fine, and that it was a simple resole. He quoted me $105, but said it should only take about two weeks. I was about to leave on a week long vacation, and thought that the extra cost was worth only being without my boots for one week. After three weeks I called to check on them. He told me he would go back and check on them. He said that they were not quite done. He said that they would be done in the middle of the following week. I gave it a full week and called again. He refused to check again. Instead, he got noticeably annoyed that I called, and told me to look at the due date on the receipt. He said he was always spot on that date. That date was one month, to the day after I left the boots. I called back on the due date. He said that the boots were still at a factory. It was going to take another week to get them back. I had no idea that he was sending them to a factory. I could have done that myself, for $75. I wanted to support a local cobbler, and have the work done in town. I believed that to be the case here, and it wasn't. It took five weeks to get them back. Furthermore, the guy that I dealt with was rude, and lacked any form of customer service skill. Why take work boots to someone who will send the work to a place for $30 more than you can do the same? I'll just go back to Hampton Shoe from now on. I've used Cobblestone twice now and will continue to go back. A few years ago, I brought my wedding shoes and a swatch of my dress fabric in for matching. My shoes were white, white. My dress was a white silk satin (see also: not white, white). They did a perfect job matching the fabric. I was concerned I'd trade too white for too dull or too ivory, but it was perfect. Recently, I returned to Cobblestone after I wore down the pads on my heels. After months of finding the perfect black pumps, I could not allow these to die. They fixed them up and even pointed out to me that a sole tip replacement would keep me from wearing holes in the tip of the pointy toes very soon. Good catch, Cobblestone! $35 for repairs sounds much better than searching endlessly for another pair of expensive but perfect pumps! read more

Excellent work for reasonable price. Brought in a pair of leather walking shoes with a heel that was run down from walking crooked when I had a sore ankle. Brought them in and for forty bucks he cut the heel off and replaced it with a nice solid full heel. Good as new. They were ready for pick up in a day and a half. I haven't gotten new heels for my shoes in a long time and maybe I'm not current on pricing, but the cost seemed high. The owner wasn't very nice when I dropped the shoes off. I learned of Cobblestone from my husband's uncle who does high-end fashion and other types of photography. He told me about their red soles for CL stilettos. Owning a pair of CLs is on my wish list, so I tucked away Cobblestone's info in my memory bank. I was shopping for a new travel / laptop bag and remembered I had a beautiful, red leather Lodis tote I'd stopped using because the support tubing in one of the handles broke in half and it was too irritating to use anymore. Instead of buying a new one, I inquired with Cobblestone about repairing it. The estimate was astonishingly reasonable, I dug out the tote from the back of my closet, and I sent it to Jeff. Jeff stayed in contact with me, explained everything thoughtfully, even set me up with the black Edge Kote originally used on the unfinished seams + the Urad cream they use in their showroom so I can keep it looking like the amazing investment piece I purchased in 2006. I was so impressed that I sent Jeff a pair of Michael Kors boots I purchased 4 years ago. Stitching on the inside seaming of one of them unraveled immediately after purchase. I'd taken them back to the MK store, but the sales associate was unhelpful (that's being kind); Mr. Kors himself would be embarrassed. I'd tried methods to patch it without success. Jeff was honest in that it wouldn't look brand new & I certainly did not expect that it would or could. ANYTHING would look better than what it did at that point. Cobblestone did a BRILLIANT job! I love the boots' styling. MK, in my opinion, has not released a pair as beautiful since. I get complimented on them every single time I wear them. Jeff re-soled them as well and I know I'll get years and years more wear out of yet another investment piece. I live in Texas and will, from now on, send everything I can (haha! within reason!) to Cobblestone for repair. I'm delighted to have found this gem of a business. They know exactly what they're doing, will be straightforward with what can and can't be done regarding repairs, will offer the best care options for your items, and the pricing is exceptional for the return-in-quality. In addition, I very much appreciate the suggestion to care for my own items than to be told to set up a, "Send them back every xxx months for restoration." They aren't trying to up-sell any "revolving" incentive that pads their pockets and it saves the customer(s) loads of money in repeat shipping. That, to me, is indicative of integrity. I had worn my favorite pair of pair down to the nails. The nails on the heals were completely exposed and the tips were worn down to the skeleton of the shoe. I took my boots to Cobblestone on Olive and it cost me a minimal amount for the damages done. The owner was incredibly friendly and walked me through what he was going to do to fix my shoes. He also gave me tips on how to protect them in the future. He finished my boots super fast and they came back looking BETTER than new! He built the heal back up and it seems like it'll be longer lasting than when I first got them. He looked for a special product to fix the tip of the shoes and he did! They look great! I had also asked him a quick question about some other shoes that were scuffing up really bad and he showed me a product that would help and took the time to show me how to use it appropriately. Jeff, I'm assuming the owner, is the picture of amazing customer service. He went out of his way to explain the process when I asked. He spent the extra time on the tips of my boots that other places said couldn't be fixed. He was very personable and extremely affordable. Rude rude rude! My husband asked me to pick up a pair of shoes repaired by Cobblestone. Keep in mind my husband has taken his shoes here for many years. I didn't have the ticket for pickup ( my husband told me that he wasn't given one when he dropped off his shoes). The owner was aggravated and asked me the phone number. I gave him my husband's cell but the shoes weren't listed under that one so I gave the owner another number. The owner barked at me "This is why there are tickets!" He did find my husband's name, shoes etc. it took a total of 15 seconds. I was the only customer in the shop so I wasn't holding anyone else up. The owner slapped the shoes on the counter, "here! (Slam!) this is very aggravating!" He turned away, went into a back room and slammed the door behind him. I won't be back and after having his shoes repaired by this same "gentleman" for more than 15 years my husband is through doing business here. I went to Cobblestone a while back to get one of my shoes re-padded. I had bought a new pair of heels, but when I went to wear them for the first time I noticed one came with out a pad. I couldn't return them because I had bought them out of town. So I told Cobblestone I only wanted one heel repaired since the other was fine and had never been worn. The worker said he would have to charge me $15 because he buys his pads in sets of two. I said I wouldn't pay twice to get one fixed. He said that's all he could offer so I decided I'd try some place else. I told him thank you and that I'd think about. As I walked out, he called out to me "You're a Liar!". I turned around and said, "Excuse me?" He yelled at me that I was a liar and that I wasn't going to think about it, I was going to go someplace else. I dropped my shoes off at Cobblestone at the beginning of August to be dyed for my Wedding on August 31st. The owner told me that the color was not guaranteed and he should be able to get the color close to the desired color that I needed for my wedding. I understood this risk, and left my shoes with the completion date of August 16th. I called him Thursday the 14th to check the status of my shoes because I had a fitting for my wedding dress and he hadn't even started on my order yet so I was able to come pick them up. I dropped them back off later Thursday evening to be dyed and received an email saying my order was ready to pick up Friday night. My shoes were kept for 2 weeks for last minute dyeing. When I picked these shoes up, I had Pink dye on the bottom of the shoe, all on the Rhinestones and the shoes are multi-colored pink because this was a rushed job. He told me that He could get the dye off the rhinestones, but I would have to leave my shoes again to be picked up on Thursday August 21st! This is terrible. I am requesting a refund for the dye all over my shoe and the damaged rhinestones on the she and the terrible blotches of dye on my shoes. I understood the color may not be guaranteed, but was unaware of how poorly my shoes would be handled and last minute dyed. This associate Jeff was not accommodating an did not care to help or offer solutions as my wedding is quickly approaching and now my wedding shoes are ruined. If I wanted to get them dyed black or another color, the rhinestones, zipper, and the inside of the shoe are full of dye. read more
