Cobblestones Pub is a lively Irish spot right on the border of Kew Gardens and Forest Hills, and it definitely delivers. They have a biergarten in the back which I haven't seen, but heard it is nice and expansive. The Pub has TVs everywhere you look. When we went, they had the Olympics, the Knicks Game, and UFC all at the same time. So, depending on where you were sitting, you would heat completely different reactions around you. It made for a fun time. Out waitress was very friendly. She was great when we interacted with her, but service timing felt a little off. Somehow, she wasn't around when we needed her, yet pop up when we didn't. It wasn't a bad experience. Just a bit strange. For food and drinks, we tried the Philly egg rolls, Polish Kielbasa was tasty and was recommended over the other sausage. The sangria tasted very watered down and almost non alcoholic. It was very sweet and refreshing. But I really couldn't taste any alcohol in it. Overall, food was solid and service was friendly. I would go back for the vibes.

Manager's response to my complaint. You can see how polite they are and how they run their business.

I had a negative experience when visiting Cobblestones Pub. My friend and I arrived at 5pm on a Tuesday when the place was dead and we had many beers and appetizers. At 8pm when the Knicks game started, they asked us to sit across from each other (one of us facing the game/screen and the other with the back to the screen, which means that we wouldn't be able to talk and watch the game). When I politely tried to explain to the waitress that we had been there for 3 hours and just wanted to keep our seats so we could both watch the game facing the screen, she literally told us to "either move or leave." I had driven almost an hour to get there in order to meet with a friend I hadn't seen in a while but per bar rules we weren't allowed to sit next to each other to watch a game and talk because according to their "rules" if people sit on one side of a picnic table the other side becomes useless. Bohemian Hall beer garden in Astoria is 30 times the size of Cobblestone and they don't come up with these rules. I sent Cobblestones a complaint through their official Instagram page and they told me to get a life. (See attached photo). By this comment you can have a better idea about how they run business and how their immature manager communicates with customers. If you check other Yelp reviews you will see another customer was also told by their manager to "get a life". We are both in our 40s, we never cause any kind of trouble when we go to bars and we expected a better treatment. That's why we will NEVER go back to this place. They should treat their customers with more respect. My advice, stay away!

    GIANT BAVARIAN PRETZEL

Finding parking street parking midday takes some time, so give yourself some extra time. If you're not paying attention, you may miss the entrance. Look for the restaurant grade sign on the door. Met some people for lunch. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was great. We shared a giant Bavarian pretzel... nothing much to say about it, it's a pretzel. I got the Philly cheese-steak egg rolls ($15) but wish I had gotten the Philly cheese-steak which comes with fries for $3 more... it would have been more filling. Since I was with a group that was going to split the bill I didn't order anything additional to the Philly cheese-steak egg rolls. When the bill came, I tried using Scan & Split app for the bill, but the total was off. At first I thought something was wrong with the app but when I used the calculator to total the items on the bill, the total on the check was $2 higher. Can you add to the total without it showing anywhere on the bill? Never had to happen before.

I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night around 7:00pm. I thought we'd have a hard time getting a table, since we were a group of eight, but the space is so big that it was not a problem. I had the French onion soup, which was delicious. Service and ambiance were both good; nothing noteworthy.

Worst Customer Service Ever I reached out to this place asking a simple question about whether they were hosting a Super Bowl event, and instead of a polite response, I got BLOCKED on Instagram. When I followed up via email, I received an unprofessional and rude reply from the owner claiming their Instagram was "hacked" while also accusing me of "bashing" them on Yelp. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, they resorted to personal attacks. This is hands down the most unprofessional and immature way to run a business. If they can't even handle a simple customer inquiry without resorting to blocking and insults, I can only imagine the kind of service they provide in person. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere-somewhere that actually values customers and understands basic customer service.

The food was alright. We enjoyed the food more than the drink. Their drinks weren't as strong as we wanted them to be. Even for someone who doesn't drink often, I didn't taste much of the alcohol in it. My friend ordered beers and she said the drinks feel weak. The service was okay. The only nice thing was that they had a patio and the murals.

Went here for an Insta Cart meet n greet. Loved it. Fell in love with the spot. Doesn't like ok like much from outside. But when you walk in it's like wow . You have the bar / sit down in front. More seating back area and side spot for bigger party seating arrangements. Best part is the yard where the events happen like "October Fest". I did not try food only appetizers and this round I only had a Virgin drink. The warm pretzel was delicious and soft. Chips with avocado dip. Tasty. The wings were my favorite. Honey and mild. So soft melts off the bones. Staff is friendly when you walk in. Just the kindness alone and how big and beautiful it is one my heart as a returning customer. The only default is the parking is hard. (Street parking) so highly recommended Uber or car pool.

Visited Cobblestone Biergarten to watch Monday night football and it was a perfect spot. Enjoyed the Buffalo wings and a pumpkin ale. Great service and friendly staff.

I've become a regular here, started visiting this summer after work. The back area is beautiful with nice painting in the walls and a nice open seating area. The prices are very affordable they also have happy hour for half off wings mozz sticks and tenders and 6$ beer on tap. I really like the service here for a bar it's really good.

Beer good Good good…read morePeople good And the allow dogs. What more can you ask for? Really though, there's a wide selection of beer both local, to micro brewers, to foreign. The food is Korean centric pub food. From fries, to burgers, nachos, pasta, bossam, etc. And the people are all so nice. We always come with our dog and they always bring water for him, and we go enough so they recognize us when we come in. Of course though we stay in the outdoor dining area, which is covered during the colder months. But even then, they turn in heating for us when we are out there while every other patron are dining inside.

The food itself is pretty good. I liked the pasta and the pork belly dish. The fried were ok. I also tried the nachos and really liked the cheese for it's subtle taste however I was not a fan of the rest of it. For the price the portions are pretty small and not filling. Warning it can be pretty loud as I had to yell to talk to my friends. My main con and suggestion for improvement is the tables and chairs. The chairs are really small so it might not be comfortable for most. Also, our table was very wobbly so we moved to another one and that one ended up being wobbly too. I'm hoping they can change them as it will help the comfort of the guests. On a good note, I liked the service! The waitress was nice but I believe there was a busser who was attentive and respectful towards us!

It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! Overall food and service was on point, but also it was a random weeknight where there wasn't a crowd. Either way, recommend this bar if you're looking to grab a bite or watch a game! Classic Waygu Burger - 4/5 Great tasting and juicy burger, but one thing I wish was included was a side of fries at bare minimum. What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.
