Since the closure of But'n Ben Scottish bakery in Pickering, there hasn't been another bakery to get good meat pies from. This bakery replaced a Wimpy's diner and I was curious to see how they would manage such a large space for a bakery. The store is well laid out with fridges and freezers that line the store, jam packed with delicious oven ready meals and hard to find eats. There are also isles stocked with jams, coffee, tea, pot noodles, biscuits and snacks from the old country. And in-store baked breads are spread out on tables near the display cases. I picked up 6 assorted meat pies and some Queen Victoria's during this visit and shared them with my family. I don't often make meat pies anymore as the kid still has yet to develop the taste for it, but for the adults in the family, this was a lovely treat to pick up several different flavours to sample (chicken pot pie, steak and gravy, steak and mushroom). We enjoyed our selection of pies and the dessert and look forward to returning to try out more delicious eats!

Not super traditional but it's okay. 3 separate counters to order different food items this place can get quite full. I reached out via email, gave Ms. Stella some options, then she met with my parents so that they could choose exactly what they wanted. She offered them a tasting and even brought the samples to their house at their discretion. On the day of the special occasion, Ms. Stella was the first vendor to get to the house and set up. The cake was just lovely and tasted even better. Our guest list exceeded about 50 people and almost everyone asked about the company we went through for the beautiful cake. Beautiful presentation, professional, prompt and flexible from the beginning. We will surely use Ms. Stella going forward for our special occasions!

Slightly crispy, not doughy. On the negative side one could hope for a more generous filling. Overall we found the pies a little dry. Will buy gravy next time. The beef sausage rolls were just bland tasting. Pastry was excellent though. Perhaps the pork would be a better choice? Despite our minor criticism we look forward to trying the other pies available. Establishment clean (new), staff friendly. Only wish - to have a store closer to Scarborough west.

Located in a mainly industrial area, there is parking towards the side and rear of the building. Inside there are rows and shelves of fresh breads, danishes, strudels, pies, focaccia, cookies, croissants and even a grocery cart of baguettes. I tried an apple danish on this occasion. The pastry was flaky with a crispy exterior but a nice softness inside. The apple filing had real apple slices and was sweet and slightly sticky. Everything was well balanced and delicious. Definitely recommend if you're in the area to try this bakery!

I got it sliced and immediately had a slice with butter once I got home. So pillowy soft and delicious! I asked if there was any yeast and they said very little but they have their own starter so it's a hybrid rather than authentic, yeast free sourdough bread. I also got a pork empanada and it was good. I got a fresh, classic glazed donut and with one bite and I was in heaven! It reminded me of glazed donuts I had growing up so it was blissfully nostalgic! I haven't tasted the apple cake but it looks so good. Lots more I want to try on my next visit. All the prices were great too. A big shout out and thanks to Cail who was working the counter.
