The amphitheater is a great venue to see a show but the cost of beverages & food is prohibitive for the average person. They need to learn from Arthur Blank in Atlanta at Mercedes Benz stadium. First off, the venue is in the ghetto of North Birmingham about eight blocks from Top Golf and Protective Life Stadium. Get prepared to pay $25 for a 24 oz beer and $10 for bottled water. There are free water refill stations. The bathroom is a hike from your seat. I've seen amphitheaters do a better job with restrooms. The service is good. Made my way to a concert at this new amphitheater and came out of the whole experience pretty impressed. The place is brand new and so it was super clean and in immaculate condition. My seats were pretty far from the stage but I still had a great view of it. Lines to get in the place moved quickly in spite of a packed show. Same with concessions and merch. Virtually no waiting at all. The sound was crisp and distinct and not muddy or pitchy, which is key when the whole point of the place is to go and listen to music. Overall I think this is an above average venue and that the execution on the part of the staff is excellent. Would definitely recommend, would definitely return. read more

Our first visit and the largest concert the venue has hosted since opening! The shuttle services were good. We were picked and dropped off up near where we parked. Perfect. There is work to be done on crowd control due to the fact the line up to get inside stretched for a few blocks before the pit area opened. We had assigned seats and I mildly regret not getting pit area admission. The people there looked like they had a blast. We waited until near the concert end to go buy merch. That went well. No crowds. Seats were ok. Everyone stood for the entire concert. Sound was good and lightning was good. All was well! read more

First visit to the Amphitheater was to see Teddy Swims and I was not disappointed!! A very nice addition to Bham. There were plenty of bars and lines weren't long. Bathrooms were very clean. Sat in Section 103 and had a great view of the stage,even while sitting and people were standing up in front of me. As someone who love going to concerts, I love that there was a little table in between seats to place your drinks and food! (Very small thing but I appreciated this!) After going, I wanna go to more shows! Parking was interesting. We pre-paid for parking in N3 parking deck & ended up on the very top level. It was close to the amphitheater but There was No elevator so we had to take the stairs (6 floors) ! I wasn't prepared for that. So if you don't wanna deal with the stairs arrive early. read more

So much fun!! Went to the very first show here last night to see Matt Rife. What a great, new event venue for our city! We underestimated the distance from Uptown to the amphitheater. We were planning to get cocktails and walk over. It's quite a trek. For events, they have these "jam trams" that seat about 10-12 and can carry people from uptown to closer to the venue. We rode that and were dropped off down the hill from the venue. It didn't seem like there were many. (We arrived after showtime and immediately had a ride but I did notice long lines earlier) You have two options after that. You can either wait on golf carts or walk. The walk is about 5 minutes but there is an incline! Once inside, there are lots of food options to choose from! It's pretty clear where the food and drinks are because of the big signs. There are also screens everywhere so you def won't miss the show. There are even screens in the bathrooms! Once inside, it looks amazinggg. The sound is great and the screens make it easy to see no matter how far back you are! Leaving the venue was a little tough. All 9,000+ people were seemingly exiting the only two exits from where the seats were. It was definitely congested. We hopped over multiple rows to get out faster. Once out, it was noticeable the little transportation options they had so we chose to make the longggg trek back to Uptown. I'm assuming they are in the process of building a parking deck or something. Parking and the lack of transportation options to get people to their far away cars would be my only critique. I blame this on the newness and looking forward to see how they improve that process. Overall, it was an amazing venue and looking forward to all the events coming to The Magic City. read more

Went to see Toto last night! The new amphitheater is awesome. Gorgeous views of the sunset over Birmingham's skyline. You can very clearly see the lights from the City Federal building! Fireworks here would be awesome. The space has so much potential for different kinds of events. There's a ton of bathroom stalls, they're clearly ready to host some sold-out shows. Alabama Shakes this weekend!!! Would love to see the amazing Brittany Howard in her home state. Security is good, we came in about an hour after show start, and still caught most of the second opener. No line, no traffic. Speaking of traffic--we parked in the Uptown neighborhood, and the amphitheater offers a free shuttle service from the parking lot in between City Walk and Uptown right to the doors. This was so awesome! We did have to wait a little bit after the show, as everyone was leaving at the same time, but it wasn't too bad. I'm thinking that the hospital they're tearing down next door might be a good spot for a parking deck... I'm not sure the van and golf cart transportation system will work forever. The theater itself is sloped, no steps. I really did not mind this, and I think this makes it infinitely more accessible for older patrons. We didn't have people sitting in the couple rows in front of us, but I could see that affecting the view. Drinks are expensive. I got one beer, which was a tallboy (two beers) and it was $20. Yikes! I guess that's on par with entertainment venues like this, but still feels hefty. I'd like to see them highlight more local beers and food places. Maybe even bringing in a local food truck for every show. I wonder if they'll close for the winter. I know most artists that play amphitheaters tour during warmer months anyways, but I would totally bundle up and come to a Christmas concert here or something. read more

Love this new venue for Birmingham! First time coming here. They warn you in advance about the parking so I got a ride and took a Lyft home. But honestly, it seemed okay. They have the roads blocked off and police everywhere directing traffic so I think next time I will drive. They had golf carts that will take you from the parking area to the venue for free and we didn't have to wait long to get one. Typical rules apply about not having a big purse. My friend had to rent a locker for hers for twenty dollars. What a racket. Getting through security was a breeze. We were able to find our seats easily. It seems like the seats are good no matter where you sit. Sounds seemed a little off at times but not sure whose fault that was. Drinks were expensive. Two waters were over 15$. I thought this was a cool venue. It is on the flight path to the airport so it was pretty cool seeing the planes coming in for a landing every once in a while. read more

It's a nice new venue in Birmingham, glad to see the effort made, the location is promising and ties in well for the entertainment district concept. City hasn't done a good job with parking yet. Venue is highly over priced for beverages even with a captive market it is excessive. Seats are well position for views of the stage. read more

This outdoor amphitheater was highly anticipated! It seems smaller than the previous Oak Mountain Amphitheater we had in town. But it is very nice, clean, and new! There are a variety of parking options available as well as golf carts that can take you to the venue after you park. My friends and I came to see Parker McCollum, Kameron Marlowe, and Laci Kaye Booth. It was a great time! They do have food and drinks here for sale as well. I know I will be back! read more

First, the location of the venue is concerning. It appears to be in a rough part of town, and I would strongly recommend that people do not walk to or from the venue, especially at night. It didn't feel particularly safe outside the gates. Second, the prices inside are extremely high. A beer costs around $20, and even a bottle of water is about $10. Those prices alone would be disappointing, but the policies inside the venue made it even worse. When entering the general admission pit, staff forced everyone to pour their beer into plastic cups and throw away the cap from their bottled water. This is really inconvenient for concertgoers. Without a cap, you can't easily carry water through the crowd without spilling it, which makes very little sense. To make matters worse, when I was leaving the venue a security guard ripped my water bottle out of my hand, spilled water all over me, and made a big scene about it. The interaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional, especially after already paying such high prices for basic drinks. Overall, while the show itself was great, the venue experience--location, prices, and security behavior--made the night much less enjoyable. I hope management takes a look at these issues and improves the experience for future concertgoers. (FYI, I go to a lot of concerts and i am used to pricy drinks and rude security, but this was on another level) read more

The venue lacks adequate bathrooms. The mens line was backed up over 75 yards deep. The only set of bathrooms for the GenPop is right at the center of the venue. There's plenty of room around the venue for port-o-potties, but it seems the venue management is clueless or cant seem to pivot and make necessary changes on the fly. And dont get me started about protection for fans during inclement weather, because unless you're one of the fortunate few that's made it through the bathroom line, and into a stall, you'll be left standing in the rain. Great looking venue, fatastic sound quality, but dont drink ANYTHING within 2 hours of the show, to avoid urinating on yourself, as you stand in line for a hour.........or you might just pray for a rain shower, so you can pee your pants and get some relief. I wonder if the one set of bathrooms was in the original plan, or did the city decide to save a few buck at the fans expense. read more

Meet Birmingham's newest ampithteater! My family and I went to see Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit here just days after the amphitheater's opening. I am a bit disappointed in the lack of creativity that went into the amphitheater's design. It's just this big, beige "eyesore", if you will, near uptown. Despite the blandness, the amphitheater is very clean. Unfortunately, unless this is an addition later to come, there is no shade whatsoever. No awnings in sight, come prepared! They do let you bring in an empty water bottle though, so that could save you $8 from having to buy one! The dining options were pretty typical... burger, hot dog, chicken tenders, nachos. I ended up ordering a burger and fries, which was just over $20. The quality reminded me of public school lunchroom food. All that to say, I had much higher hopes for this amphitheater. The concert was great, but the venue itself could have been *more*. read more

I was excited to go to this new venue, as I go to see a lot of live music, at least 20-40 shows per year at various venues. Full disclosure-my home venue is Orion, so the bar is set real high. Let's start with the lines. The line management to get in was poor. Line out the door still by the time the band started and we got there 15 mins early. You have to get in a line to pour your drink into a big cup to bring your drink into the pit area. This could be avoided by just serving drinks in the cups you expect everyone to use. Now bathrooms- they are so so far from the stage and you can't hear the music from the bathroom. A lot of walking. Again, the lines were so long I missed a few songs just by going to pee. Now security. I had a wristband to get into the pit, and my tickets were on my friends phone. There was a huge rain where the band had to pause the show and everyone got soaked. Totally completely soaked to the bone. My wristband fell off from being wet, as they are not the durable plastic kind that snap, these are just the papery ones that have sticky adhesive. I tried to get back into the pit during the second half of the show, but was holding my mangled wristband. My husband and friends were enjoying the show in the pit, but the security treated me like a degenerate who was just trying to steal a spot. I paid for my pass, but our group tickets were on my friends phone. Never had been a problem before, we often buy tickets for each other and get into the venue at the same time. Obviously not having another ticket, I had to sit outside of the pit area for 2 songs while I desperately tried to call/text members of my group. Finally my friend who has the tickets on her phone came to get me, but they even argued with her!! Saying that just because the tickets are on her phone doesn't prove there's a ticket for me!! I'm a 40 year old woman with a professional career and life, and I was sitting outside the gate of this show with tears rolling down my face because I was so frustrated and upset. I finally got in toward the end of the show, but spent several songs just dealing with this situation and it brought the mood down for everyone in my group. This was completely out of hand and I've never dealt with such bad staff/security in my lifetime of going to venues like this. I will make an effort to NOT return to this venue. Orion HSV will always set the bar, but hell, I'd rather drive to the UNO in New Orleans or the Rupp Arena in Lexington KY before coming back to Coca Cola. Even the old UNO, which is very much in need of remodel, is set up better and has better staffing than this brand new venue in Birmingham. What a joke. read more

I guess they took my first review down. This place is horrible. Around the venue looks like a 3rd world country war zone old halfway torn down buildings, graffiti, just horrible. Parking is a joke. Don't go to a show in the summer time or you might have a heat stroke. There is no shading in this place, no fans, no air flow whatsoever. They have seats down in the pitt that are connected. They could have done a better job designing this place! I had 2nd row tickets to see Def Leppard. They couldn't even use the whole stage due to the tiny stage. The band had nowhere to put their equipment and it was all stacked to the left of the stage where we were sitting. We were in row B seat 13, 14 and paid high dollar for these tickets. There was no one in front of us, yet the rent a security guy wouldn't let us step 2 feet forward to the front row area where NO ONE was standing! Then comes along 2 girls who didn't have tickets to the front row and I asked the security if he wasn't going to make them go back to their seats because they were standing in front of us and he said...."no, they work here".....which was a lie their t-shirts said Music City Catering company and I guarantee you they didn't have tickets or if they did, I'm sure they didn't pay the high dollar price we did. I have pictures and videos of the security guard and these 2 girls that I'm sending to corporate. All the other security people were very nice! In fact, one of the security guys said the these 2 girls didn't work there! I will never again go to this venue for a concert. What a big disappointment Birmingham! Never again!!!!! read more

Great venue, great location, horribly expensive food and drink prices. Although the atmosphere is awesome and the seats nice, maybe management might want to recess their pricing strategy . Hottest venue I have ever been to. I have been outdoors in TX during the summer and not been this hot. Zero green space and it is has no shade anywhere. I don't know how they plan to have future summer events here. Design is bad because no ventilation, and they have done NO infrastructure around the venue. Bummed Birmingham did not hold the developers to a higher standard. AND for ambiance you can watch and hear jetliners landing the whole time. I won't see another show here. read more

The seating in the upper rows is very poorly thought out. It is sloped instead of stepped in order to give more leg room according to the Ampetheater. The problem is the slope is so shallow. It's almost like ground level seating where you can not see the stage very well because you are basically blocked by the person in front of you so the people have to stand up which then everyone has to stand up in order to see negating the leg room issue. I found this out first hand at the Def Leppard concert. This needs to be addressed because older folk can not stand up as long as younger folks! read more

Awesome venue. Everyone that works there is super nice. If you get there early you get a beautiful view of the Sunset while you pregame. Only problem is getting the rideshare out. The police are so focused on letting the traffic out they sometimes don't let the traffic in. Locking most Uber's from getting in for pick up. There are independent car businesses waiting at the street outside. You might pay extra or the current surge price, but it beats waiting 30 minutes for an Uber to get in the pickup only to have them cancel when they realize there is a surge at x10 what the were to get paid. Try Electric Chariot if you see him. Comfortable, clean Tesla Y run by a good guy, plays music from the show, and it actually smells super nice. Way better than Uber Roulette. read more

Whomever designed the layout of this place has clearly never attended a concert. You shouldn't have to walk outside of the amphitheater all the way towards the back and then wait in line 30 minutes because they only designed the place with one bathroom. read more

Not sure I would return. To start, it is in a very sketchy area! It is located near downtown, however, everything in the close vicinity felt very unsafe. While it was clean, that's not enough. The employees working the gates either had no clue of rules or were making it up as they go. Half of the crowd was forced to throw signs and posters away, while the other half was allowed to take them in. It does state that you cannot take large umbrellas, mine was a small one, and I was forced to return it to the car or throw it away. Another girl had a nicotine vape, and the gate person harassed her telling her it was a felony to have it. Food is absolutely insane! A chicken tender and fries basket will cost you over $20! I highly suggest eating before you go. While I understand that's where they make a lot of money, that was just absolutely ridiculous what they were charging for things. I've been too many concerts at many different venues. This was by far the worst in many different ways. The seats are also not numbered. So a lot of people were becoming very confused finding where they were supposed to be. It is new, so hopefully they become better at everything. The concert itself was absolutely amazing! Just not the greatest venue. They had a couple cornhole boards, put up to kill time if you arrived early. However, they were set up directly in front of the merch area, so you could not even access them because there were so many people in line blocking them. There's also absolutely no shade! There were about four umbrellas with seats under them, no other shade options. read more
