A buddy of mine and i were in town and supposed to go to the Birmingham Barons game but I messed up the time and we would have been an hour late, so we skipped it. We decided to find a place in the area that had live music and Tin Roof came up. We walked in and the place had a decent crowd but not busy. I walked up to the bar and saw they only had domestic beer on tap so asked if they had any N/A options for my buddy and if they had any IPA's for me. The unwarranted shitty attitude of the bartender was as if I asked him to make me a long island iced tea with a line of 30 people at the bar. It was just me and I simply wanted him to give me a can of beer. He gave a snide remark about it being a bar when I asked about the N/A options and just gave me an IPA in a can from Good People brewing. I guess that's the only one they had, or he just decided it's what I was getting. The beer was good, but I wanted to see my options. We sat in the courtyard and listened to the 1-man band, aka a guy with a guitar. He played a variety of stuff and was decent. The courtyard was a decent place to chill. I went back to get another beer and asked if they had any different IPA's, I got an eye roll and a nope. I decided to bounce. I had no idea Tin Roof had food but it was good bar food! I loved the tater tots, they were fried to perfection and loaded with cheese and bacon. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken wrap and I got the black diamond burger. We went on a Thursday night so it wasn't busy at all and when we left they had a DJ for live music. read more

I reviewed this place over eight years ago, and I don't remember that occasion at all. I don't even remember the circumstances that I would have been in Lakeview area during that period of my life. Either it wasn't a memorable occasion or my memory is failing. Maybe a little of both. Today my buddies and I stopped for lunch after playing golf at Highland Park. The lunch crowd was kind of light. The menu offers a nice variety of items including tacos, wings, sandwiches, and burgers. Also, I like that offer five or six draft beer options. I had the Cheeseburger all-the-way with a side of cole slaw. I thought the burger was very good. I didn't care for the cole slaw. In my opinion this place is pretty much a dive bar. It is known as a venue for live music, and reminds me very much of bars I might have frequented during college. read more

I know people I actually like there are gonna read this but I don't care. this place has seen MUCH better days. the new gm has overtaken this place and made it a terrible place to be in. there was fun signage. fun Nashville bands visiting frequently. now they have this group known in my book as the three stooge drugged up security and dis playing every night. I used to go to tin roof in Michigan and in Nashville both are known for their live music. do not be fooled the tin roof in Birmingham as it sits today has no good music. They cut it out for their budget, can you imagine a music chain cutting out what made them popular out aka their live music because it cost too much? the new gm should have come on and better promoted their amazing live music shows they were having instead he eliminated them. short story...i was there two weeks ago and some girl accused me of stealing her wallet. I didn't have her wallet. what did security do? they came over to me sitting by myself not talking to one single person and demanded her wallet. i explained I didn't have it and my Lyft was 12 minutes away not only did they tell me to leave but were very rude. security guards teeth falling out as he's telling me to leave. So being an out of town visitor I got told about this place. My Uber driver was extremely pleasant in the trip over. I walked in, and being a 15yr bartender I try not to judge. I walked up and got a seat at the end of the bar. After waiting for a good minute I was ready to get up and walk out cause no one was looking/paying attention to me. Then one of the bartenders came over and immediately apologized for not getting to me sooner. Then she offered to take care of my first drink for making me wait. I said it wasn't a problem and understood. She said regardless I'm sorry for making you wait. From someone who has been behind the counter I can so much appreciate that!! Ate at this location during the Georgia VS Tennessee game and though there was not a ton of staff the staff there was helpful. Sarah did great with our large party and was extremely patient with us. The environment is great to watch games/ other sporting events. Our group got multiple things off the menu wings, quesadillas, nachos, loaded tots, regular fries. The drinks were also good! Odd little place to say the least, we came here on a Saturday night while we were working on our big night out badge ;) the reason I say odd is they cater to everyone. Definitely a happening place on the weekend. We came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. There was a dj in the front of the house playing hip hop, etc. I paid a visit to the bathroom when I first got there and was surprised to see that it was actually pretty clean. I could have stayed there half the night reading the bathroom walls. Lol. Definitely got an education. The back of the place is open to the outside and there was a live band playing. The band played a mix of music but tended toward country. They were a great band and kept the audience on it's feet. I enjoyed the drinks here. Good bartender. It is a hidden gem in Lakeview, Birmingham! I went to happy hour on Sunday at around 2! It was moderately busy, the food didn't take too long to come out, drinks were good as well! The wells we're only two dollars which were good but the food wasn't that great. If you're looking for a bar with drinks it's a super good time. My husband and I had brunch here a few sundays ago. Staff was really nice and welcoming. I had the street corn quesadillas which were very good. Mixed drinks were mediocre. I kept ordering different drinks every time because I was disappointed. I had a Bloody Mary, margarita, and a tequila sunrise. I used to come to this place multiple times a week. On weekends, the inside of the bar has a more urban feel and is great for people that want to dance. The outside is more country, and where the smokers tend to stay. They've always got plenty of bartenders, so you have virtually no wait for a drink. They offer food too, though I've never tried it. The weekends are pretty packed and they charge a $5 cover between 10pm-1am, whereas the weekdays usually have free admission unless someone really famous is playing. They do have a parking lot, but don't rely on finding a space on the weekends here. I've met some of the coolest people here that I'm still friends with to this day. read more

Super casual atmosphere (you can bring your dog!) and live entertainment most days/nights plus free or really cheap entry (I think I paid a $10 cover one Saturday night). Either way, love coming on Sunday for the $3 mimosa specials and live music. Also nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the sunshine or inside with the brisk AC, your choice. Tin Roof is always a good time and although they serve food, it is more of a bar/ dance atmosphere than it is a restaurant. On the inside they have bands, darts and pool tables to entertain you. As long as the band's are performing outside, it's rather quite on the inside. This makes it nice to socialize with friends without having to yell at each other or repeat your thoughts. If being inside is not what you prefer, then head outside to the open patio/ bar that is located in the back. They have a large open area for live music, a dance floor, and cornhole. What makes the outside patio nice is the overhead heaters. Regardless if the temperature drops outside, Tin Roof has you covered. What I enjoy most about Tina Roof is there is plenty of room to enjoy friends and meet new ones. The atmosphere is more like being in a friend's backyard versus our in Birmingham. read more

Astonishingly unfriendly. We were not helped by anyone, we were even directly ignored at first by a blonde woman behind the bar. A male bartender came up to explain to us that they don't do table service(completely understandable) and told us to go to a website to order. It did not work and we ended up just leaving. Most importantly NONE of their employees were wearing masks and we were getting shitty service(if you can count what we got as service) because we were wearing masks. Shameful and disgraceful.
