I've given Anytime Fitness plenty of time to improve, and more importantly, to sustain those…read moreimprovements... but it just hasn't happened. The biggest issue is the equipment. Machines are frequently broken or damaged, and they stay that way for weeks or even months. There's clearly not enough traffic to justify that level of wear, and what's worse is the lack of proactive maintenance. Equipment often isn't labeled as out of order, so members have to discover it themselves and then report it. That shouldn't be the member's responsibility. Staff should be going around and performing checks on the equipment. Cleanliness is another consistent problem. The gym is visibly dirty, and basic upkeep doesn't seem to happen regularly. Carpets have only been deep cleaned once during my entire membership. Bathrooms are not properly maintained, and machines aren't cleaned or serviced the way they should be which likely contributes to the constant breakdowns. Management also seems more focused on upselling the newer section of the gym (which, last I checked, required an additional fee on top of the ~$50/month membership) rather than fixing the core issues in the main facility. It doesn't make sense to expand or upsell when the baseline experience isn't being maintained. As for personal training, if you have any real workout experience, it's not worth the cost. It felt unstructured, with no clear plan or progression. Just exercises being put together on the fly. And honestly, I had 5 different "personal" trainers over the course of the months I actually had the plan. Then had to pay a ton to get out of the contract. The most frustrating part is that this isn't new. It's been like this for years: small improvements followed by a return to the same subpar conditions. Save your money and drive a few extra minutes to a better gym. That's what I'll be doing. And to the trainers working there--I genuinely hope you find a place that values your work and provides a better environment.

It's so loud, having conversations with my workout buddy or other members, is nearly impossible without having to get in each others face and talk really loud! So, I, along with other members, have gone to the front desk numerous times to complain. The desk personnel say, "we aren't allowed to adjust the music. The store manager has no say in this matter, either. The regional manager tells us to leave the volume where it is." Next move was to speak with the "regional manager." He was pointed out to me by one of the employees so I walked up, introduced myself and said, "Why is the house music played at such a high level?" He replied, "well, we like it loud." (REALLY? WHO'S WE???) I came back with, "can you please turn it down a bit? It's too loud. It's hard to have a conversation with friends and quite frankly, the music is terrible. Look around, every person in here is wearing ear buds or headphones listening to their own music; they're not listening to the PA system." I continued, "I don't like having to wear buds or headphones and hate having to lug my phone around while working out, but I'm forced to wear them to try and drown out the music in here. And I'd like to add, I have to crank up my "noise-canceling" ear buds so loud, it's painful and the house music still bleeds thru. It's like a "battle of the bands" in my ears. He replied, "well, maybe we'll take a look at it." End of conversation. Since talking with him, he surely "took a look at it." It's louder now than it was before. I'm seriously thinking about finding another gym. Yes, it's THAT bad. p.s. There are other issues, too but I'll leave those for another time. Hopefully LA Fitness corporate will do something about this matter.

There's a great variety of equipment--multiple machines for every muscle group, tons of cable stations, and a full range of dumbbells with plenty of space to use them. Cardio machines are always available, so I never have to wait. For the past six months, I've been working Chuck for personal training, and the experience has been excellent. He's supportive, answers all my questions, tracks my progress, and adjusts my nutrition goals as my body changes. The gym has a solid community--friendly members but also a focused, no-nonsense vibe. Highly recommend if you're serious about your fitness.
