Sitting on the ground is fine but it may not be convenient for some people. This park is a good option for walking or taking a mini hike with friends and family. There is a rocky area with some water that is cool to see as it is a mini waterfall. Bring sturdy shoes and a water bottle. Overall, I had fun at David Fortier River Park. There's walking paths, well paved and maintained, LOTS of benches in different locations, a really cool play area, and a little sand strip. The signs say no swimming, but there's usually someone in the water - there's no life guard, and you can sit on the big rocks or directly on the sand. Parking is a bit tricky. There are maybe 2 dozen spots in the park, and no street parking directly outside, so you may have to circle a few times or walk a few blocks in if it's busy. My dog loves it here. There's plenty to sniff, and she's usually guaranteed a dead fish or two to hunt for (Mom does not approve this activity).

And then there were stairs that climb straight up the side of the mountain -- okay, hill -- but it felt like a mountain in the best way. The whole walk made me feel free. I immediately got my family out, but shockingly, they continued children's swimming lessons in that same pool, exposing everyone to potential infections and harmful bacteria like E. coli. I was very surprised, as the staff usually reacts strongly to smaller issues. For example, when I first signed up, one of the female staff members, a very thin brunette, aggressively and disrespectfully yelled at my family and another woman with her daughter over a simple mistake--we brought a floaty, unaware it wasn't allowed. We aren't allowed to use noodles or dive with goggles unless we're paying for swimming lessons. How does that make sense? While some staff members are nice, others act like we're uninvited, unwelcome guests in their house, enforcing unnecessary and unreasonable rules in a rude and bossy manner. This is the first pool I've ever been to where noodles are banned, but apparently, swimming with dead birds is okay. I gave 2 stars because the pool is really beautiful and the water is often warm and pleasant. Too bad for everything else.

There was only 1 other separate room with some bonsais and a caged chameleon that was displayed in a way that was hard to see. In mid April, many flowers/fruits still weren't in bloom or already bloomed or I don't know. The conservatory itself only gets 3 stars in my opinion but the best part is actually the outer grounds and trails. The trails were great and we got to see all sorts of birds (blue jays, mallards, Canadian geese, woodpeckers, finches, etc.), squirrels, chipmunks, deer. The small garden area surrounding the butterfly cage was cute. We also saw the world's cutest dog there that I mistook for a rabbit--a baby French bulldog.

I made an impromptu decision to take my son and boyfriend to Miller Nature Preserve because I knew it would be dry inside the conservatory and from what I remembered, there were some paths along the building outside. We started inside, which is amazing on its own. We paid $2 per person to go inside and experience the warm humid climate and jungle like setting. Tropical plants are everywhere, along with some cactus and bonsai trees. It's a great place to go anytime of year, but I would imagine winter months would be very enjoyable here to warm up and see some greenery. Then we walked around outside in their garden areas, which is really pretty too. Not too much to look at this time of year as everything is transitioning to winter. We were surprised to find a gravel path that went into the woods outside of the parking lot. We didn't pay attention to the map posted at the beginning of the trail, as we assumed it would be a short path. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised and very wrong! We walked through the woods for about an hour. We didn't see anyone else on the path so it was quite magical. The trees were just starting to change and the sun would peak out from the clouds occasionally. At some point the path seemed to feel like we were on someone's private property, and we were very confused, but the garden area we came across was beautiful. All sorts of cool stones, a little pond, and millstones galore. Then we somehow ended up on the trail again, which ran next to a creek. There were benches scattered about the trail as well. I never knew these trails were back there! It was an enjoyable adventure and I hope to come back soon!

I've been coming here during the summer months since around 2023, to play tennis. The tennis courts are in good condition and there are 4 total courts. I believe there are light posts in the evenings that automatically switch on for when it gets dark. There are 4 tennis courts covered by a fence and it is a "first come, first serve" deal so the sooner you arrive, the sooner you'll be able to get a court to play on. The courts are a hard court surface and they are well maintained and kept clean. The surface feels good to play on. Just outside of the courts are some benches/seats and a dustbin (trash can). I saw everyone from 5 year old t-ball players to guys in their later years playing pick up basketball. With grounds that are maintained nicely and a very friendly neighborhood encompassing the area, Bradley Park is a great pick if you're cruising around Bay Village!
