I have bought several items from Cocca's but I will never again was basically pushed to buy an Electrolux washer/dryer and had nothing but problems right off the bat from the dryer ripping my clothes apart and top dented upon delivery and the washer had mildew when they assured me that it was mildew resistant they just send you to the appliance man who is not easy to reach and can only come a certain day/time so you gotta take time off work to meet them thought I was doing them a favor for shopping small businesses but I was wrong the appliance technicians are rude I want to basically get a replacement for them I should not need service on them when they are under a year old!! read more

I think they get flawed items that they sell..that can be the only explanation for having 5/7 appliances that required replacement or repairmen. My husband purchased seven over the past five years. We had our kitchen completely remodeled so purchased five for our kitchen. We've had issues with every single one with the exception of the microwave. The dishwasher was replaced, the refrigerator Had to be repaired, our beverage refrigerator had to be completely re-purchased by us, and our range oven had to be serviced at least eight times due to gas Being released due to an interruption caused by the range. We had asked if it could be replaced, and they said because the problem was able to be fixed, it could not be. Here we are yet again with another gas leak. It's been serviced twice already in the past couple of months After they had to replace a part and it still continues to leak gas. Now we cannot get somebody in to service it for another eight days. We have spent so much money on takeout food, baked goods and birthday cakes for ourselves and parties because we have not had an oven so frequently over the past five years. Although I would never buy another item from cocoas, my husband just purchased a washer and a dryer from there (I'm guessing it's because I'm the one that always deals with the service calls). We received a notice that our washer is not the correct model that we were supposed to get, seriously?? On top of that, the washer leaked water when we first received it, luckily it hasn't happened since. Ongoing issues, have to wait forever to have repairs done, and although everyone is very friendly, It is not worth the hassle and the wasted time and money due to ongoing issues with every appliance with the exception of the microwave and dryer. Ugh. Slimy is the word that best describes my experience. I came in to replace my dishwasher. Two couple customers came in after me and the sales people helped them first. Apparently as a single female, they assumed I am incapable of making decisions in my household. When I finally got a salespersons attention and made my decision, I was dragged into a den of salespeople to talk to the manager about the price. Why isn't the price the price? Why do I have to haggle? Is this a car? I decided to not to purchase because their installation services wouldn't be able to come out for three weeks which was longer than I could wait. They did note that I had a shirt from a local engineering school on and suggested that maybe some of my guy friends might be able to help out with the installation. What Jerks! read more

I live in Saugerties just outside of the 50 mile service area and I was never informed that I only will receive the manufactures warranty of 1 year. I went to their store to buy kitchen appliances which was a package deal. I liked all the appliances except the dishwasher(because the ratings were so bad for it). So I asked the big person (i guess he owns the store) if they would swap a different dishwasher for the one in the package and remove the microwave. I just asked him if he would be able to accommodate it. He said he is giving a good deal, the sales person said $100 for delivery and installation. Then the big person added another $60 to it. He said he is giving me a good deal. I was doubtful about the deal because the dishwasher wasn't a good model at all. Inspite of it i decided to buy the package deal but asked him if he could give me a discount on delivery and installation because i thought it was $100 and the salesperson told me he would talk with him for a discount. He was so rude that he didn't listen to me and started bragging about his trip to Italy and how they bargain there. I told him that I am not bargaining and really interested in getting the package. He was so rude and said that 'go and buy it online if you want. I have to pay shipping and stocking fee. I have things to do and I am busy'. He literally asked me to get out of there. I was almost ready to buy the package but he is not a type of person with whom i would like to do business with. I was also concerned about the after sales tantrums that he could play had I bought it there. He also bragged about the 3 year warranty. When he started the conversation he said it is a free 3 year warranty but towards the end he said we would have to pay $20 for the transportation and it covers some internal parts alone. I was surprised by the fact how he tells the information about the product and service in stages and doesn't give a clear idea of it when you ask for the first time. Although his rudeness helped me to get better appliances almost the same price. I wont go to that store again and I wouldn't recommend to anybody. Best service ever! My refrigerator broke down and I needed one ASAP. Home Depot and Lowes couldn't deliver until at least 7 days. I went to Cocca's and they had what I needed at the same low price. They told me they would deliver it the next day! But what really sold me was Mr. Cocca's promise if something went wrong they would make sure I was okay "get me a loner or something" I will be going there for all my appliances! I placed an order with Cocca's and waited a week for delivery because the didn't have washer/dryer in stock. When the truck got to my house the dryer was badly damaged. The owner wanted me to wait another week for the replacement. He got very rude and wanted to make this my fault. I told him and his driver to take both machines back and I would get them from his competition. I will never do business with this company every again. read more

I would like to share a few experiences purchasing appliances in the Capitol District (Albany, N.Y.) My family has purchased many appliances and televisions from Cocca's over the past 25 years, and we have never had a bad experience. Prior to buying appliances at Cocca's I established a relationship with the owner. At the time he sold my wife and I appliances for our new home, when he worked for the old J.M. Fields department store in Latham, NY. It was his honesty and willingness to find a fair price that influenced our decision to purchase from J.M. Fields. That feeling has not changed since, as we have continued to purchase our appliances from Cocca's, Albany. Over the same period of time we have purchased appliances for my Mom. And, my brother and his family continue to purchase from Cocca's, as does my sister and her family. My son and his wife recently built a home and furnished it with appliances they bought as a package deal from Cocca's. The owner even went out of his way to find them additional rebates, after the sale and installation. Let me say that again "after the sale and installation". Another experience was trying to compare prices between independent retailers and "Big Box Stores" I have found it near impossible to compare prices between the "Big Box Stores" and any independent. Anyone who has attempted to do so will tell you they found that "Big Box Stores" have their own proprietary model numbers assigned to the appliances, making it impossible to compare prices. Its like "comparing apples to oranges". My review is this . I like making my purchases from an independent retailer. They seem to keep prices in check. What a joke it took months to resolve and I had to involve the manufacturing company as the replacement model I finally received was a less expensive basic version...finally after several more months I received the gold version...the microwave still doesn't work properly and the owner couldn't care less....don't buy from this guy. Awful, bought a refrigerator there and it was either delivered with a broken freezer handle or they broke it taking it off the truck. Either way it has now been a month since I received the fridge and was supposed to have a new handle delivered, nothing yet, every time I call them they say they are at the mercy of the manufacturer. I think a month is extreme for something I am sure they damaged I certainly don't think they received it from whirlpool damaged. At this point it may be easier to have them take back the fridge and get a whole new one! Better off going to the box stores in my opinion, as said in the last review you definitely get what you pay for horrible service and broken product. My recent experience with Cocca's was above and beyond what I expected since I have never received such service from other appliance dealers in the past. My stove needed to be replaced Thanksgiving week. The other store I had previously dealt with, placed my order incorrectly and showed up with the wrong appliance. Needless to say, the Schenectady store said they could not refill my order (correctly) or make delivery before the Holiday... and there I was expecting out of town guests for the holiday. I went to Cocca's and not only did they tell me about rebate$ which I was not made aware of by the other dealer, but Mr. Cocca himself moved other deliveries so that they could accommodate my delivery prior to Thanksgiving. Having had the need to purchase several new appliances for my rental properties, I am sorry I did not do business with Cocca's in the past. Cocca's has my business from now on. I purchased 2 air conditioners and a washing machine. I wanted the ac to be quiet. After researching consumer reports I learned Frederick makes a powerful QUIET unit. Coccas deals with Frederick ACs. They ordered it. When it arrived it was too wide for the window. Because it was ordered for me there would normally be a restocking fee. Frank, the owner waved that fee because the literature said my window size was accommodated but did not say it was a different model. They ordered the less wide unit. So it all worked out great with the AC units. I also had a washer model I wanted based on info from consumer reports I showed them the best buys price. The sales rep looked it up and best buy price was for last year's model. They sold me the newer, this year's model at very near the best buy price. I paid for delivery and instillation. The 2 guys they sent to do the installation did a great job getting the washer in a small little room off the kitchen where a washer dryer barely fits. They got a nice tip for their hard work. I would AL WAYS rather deal with a privately owned company than with a megachain. I found their customer service very good they helped me with the warranty paper work and I got their service team guarantee for 3 years on the washer and one of the Frederick ACs. Frank does approve most deals or special accomidations. As he should, it is his store. My experiences with them has been great. read more

I went shopping today for a new gas range. I have purchased over 10 appliances from Cocca's and was always happy. Not today. The salesman should have been on a used car lot. First, I was offered a price that was $125 higher than what others were charging for the same appliance. The price was adjusted only after consulting with Frank. Every question was met with a shrugging of his shoulders and a "too bad for you" attitude. After being told that they do not install gas ranges for liability reasons and that I would have to call a plumbing and heating contractor to make two trips to my home, once to unhook the old appliance and then again to hook up the new one, I gave up. I was also told that no appliance dealer in the state was able to hook up gas ranges, again for liability reasons. I then went to Earl B. Feidens and purchased the appliance for less, and paid $45 to have the old appliance unhooked and the new one installed. Overall, a much better buying experience. Because of the way I was treated, I don't think I will ever go back to Cocca's. read more

I totally agree with Joseph P. I went to Cocca's after feeling I got the best price for a refrigerator. I was wrong! I worked with Mike at Cocca's. I told him what I found that I liked (as I had been in earlier and didn't see anything)at another Major Store. I thanked him for his help but wanted to let him know I found something I did like elsewhere and they could deliver the next day. My refrigerator died the day before so needed in a hurry. Mike called me back with a cheaper price. Some how before I could get there it was sold. I was very upset as another day went by with no fridge. Later that night I rec'd a voicemail from Mike stating Frank the owner wanted to give me a loaner and get me the refrigerator I wanted. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called the next morning and Frank said I found not only the one I wanted but the color I originally wanted but was willing to get a different one as bisque is one you have to order and takes time (no matter where you go). Frank also took more money off!! The shelves were broken so he said it may take a day but then called me and said he took care of that and he had it delivered right away, hooked up and it is beautiful. Frank the owner was more than accomodating and I think he is being wrongly written about in the previous writeups from D.B and MW. I have bought from Cocca's before, hence the reason I went back and even when things I felt were wrong were brought up, Frank was doing everything in his power to make me happy and I think he definitely deserves KUDO's as well as Mike T who said he would not let me be a unhappy customer for whatever reason and I am not!! I will go back to Cocca's again and again. Right now I am looking for a stand up air conditioner and Frank said, let me see what I can so. In 2012 we bought $8,000 worth of appliances from Cocca's, Frigidaire & Electrolux. Since day one we have had nothing but problems from each and every appliance. Heads up once you buy from Cocca's that's all you get!!! No one will talk to you in regards to problems they refer you to The Appliance Man who have been through more service repair people than I can count. They miss order parts, keep ordering parts until you basically have replaced everyone on the appliance! Two years later and I still can't use my dryer!!! Cocca's knows these brands are bad and defective and still continues to sell them and tell customers they are good products!! Make sure you do your research and talk to half a dozen people first and see what products they have and where they got them. What difference does a warranty make if they have been repairing the products every week for two years!!! How about selling a good product and standing behind it instead of passing the buck to the repair people!!!!! read more
