Sweet service. The pupusas were fresh and excellent. They come a la cart of the meal with rice and beans. The chips were a little too hard as I prefer them thin and crispy. Salsa was ok. The coke is bottled and has no high fructose corn syrup (cane sugar instead!) - parking lot is quite dark at night so be careful. The employees are all very nice here. read more

I was very surprised by this place. It is quite a bit out of town, the outside looks very nice. But when we walked in there was nobody inside except for the workers. We did stay a try it thought. We all were pleasantly surprised. The food was Stupendous, very rich and authentic in flavor. The presentation was Spot On. I would Highly recommend this place. Overall, I feel like this place is fair for the location and price. The food isn't anything spectacular and just about typical quality that you'd expect from most fast food / fast casual restaurants. But it does have a convenient location for the surrounding neighborhoods, so that's where the main value comes in as a quick place to grab food if you live nearby. The service is okay - a couple times, it's been a little slow when they get backed up on orders during the dinner rush period. But all in all, the service is reasonable. Friendly fast service, delicious Pupusas, casual environment. This is the newest location of the Novato EP Salvadorian Pupusaria. The Pupusas were excellent. Toothy and chewy, full of flavor, and melty gooey on the inside. The pickeled cabbage slaw that comes with them is the perfect crunchy tangy pair. They are served ala carte or 3 to a platter. We ordered pollo, chicharron, and Lorroco Pupusas. The Lorroco were a delicious new flavor for me. Never had it before. Kind of a cross between chard and artichoke, but stuffed inside a Pupusa with melty cheese. OMG!! The fried plantains were quite good, and the crema and beans that accompanied them were perfect. The refried black beans had a silky smooth texture that was nothing less than heavenly. They have other non Pupusa items that I'm looking forward to try on my next visit. This is my weekly happy place. I always get the Pupusas (order if 3) Chicken and cheese Spinach Zucchini and cheese My hubby loves the tacos and tonight we tried the Chicken Empanadas ( set of 3) They were out of control amazing! I usually get a strawberry Fresca, or the Soursop Fresca, tonight it was the Passion fruit Fresca (ask about the choices of Fresca they change) always so good. We will be back, I love this place. The service is warm and friendly. Give yourself some time for dinner everything is freshly made. Make sure you call ahead to order if you are in a hurry, and they have pick up. The pupusas are on par with the place we used to frequent in the Mission district of SF. FOOD: -Pupusas come in orders of 3 for their plate, or you can order them as single. Comes with curtido and the red sauce. They are a little smaller than normal but not by much. They are fantastic-- not overly greasy and the perfect ratio of filling to dough (I hate when they're too doughy) -we got a large side of rice and beans. The large sides are those large plastic takeout containers so can feed 4-6 people easily. Not sure if it was a fluke but the beans were straight liquid-- like no substance whatsoever. I think we may have gotten the bean broth or something, but we poured them over our rice and the flavor was great so I was still happy AMBIANCE -There were 8 parking spots within their 2 small private lots. Super easy to park and pickup my takeout -they have the CUTEST outdoor patio at the back of the restaurant, covered by a gazebo that provides shade. -the inside of the restaurant was clean and spacious. SERVICE -it was a little hard to get my phone order in due to a slight language barrier, but it ended up being correct and on time. -I was surprised to find they didn't have a website with a menu so I made sure to take a photo and upload it here. They do not have online ordering. -The lady helping me was very nice and gave great service. The food was great. The prices were fair. We got 9 pupusas, large side of rice, large side of beans and an horchata for around $65 so not too shabby. We will definitely be back! read more

As Salvi's my daughters and I are pretty serious when it comes to our pupusas. I have a saying when it comes to food, "ya can't knock it til you try it!" Boy are we happy that we tried it! They loaded the pupusas up and they were sooo good. I said 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt like their beans could've used a lil more seasoning but that's just me. Definitely try this place! Petaluma needs a local Pupuseria! Also be sure to tip. They just charged my card and they weren't planning on giving me the tip portion as an option bc they felt like it was close to closing time that it wouldn't have been fair...? I was like where do I tip!?! They were so grateful and thankful. Also, tried the Maracuya (passion fruit) agua fresca. I sucked that down before I could take a pic. read more

Ordered takeout for lunch on a Friday. I ordered two pupusa plates with the cheese and chicken, cheese and bean, and the cheese and loroco. SO delicious and fresh. The beans were mashed black beans and seasoned perfectly. The chicken was shredded finely and had a delicious texture and flavor. The loroco was yummy and had a nice fresh bright flavor. The slaw served on the side was also fresh and a great pairing with the pupusas. I didn't get a chance to see the back but I will definitely be returning here. read more

Had an amazing lunch here. We used to frequent it when it was Butcher Crown Roadhouse, and while we were sad to see that go, this place is great. They have really transformed the patio into something much nicer, with a nice shade structure over top. The pupusas were delicious, my friend had a breakfast burrito that he said was fantastic. Service was super friendly, and I hope people will find this place, it's a bit out of sight from the main downtown but it's so close, and we'll be returning often. Awesome new (to me) place in Petaluma. I really enjoyed the food which tasted fresh and well prepared. Beyond this, I must highlight that the staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, and personable which made dining in an extra special experience. The restaurant was sparkling very clean as well! Overall very nice experience. We'll be back. Food: never had pupusas before, so we got three orders. Each order comes with 3 pupusas, which are quite filling, about 5" across. We got the cheese and zucchini, cheese and chicken, and cheese and pork, though you can mix and match any of their 6 options in each order of 3. They come with a homemade pickled slaw on the side and a small container of a tomato based sauce (not at all spicy). We all agreed that the pupusas seemed very well made (we watched them being made and cooked) and are likely a great version of pupusas (though we've never had them before). But we actually didn't love them. I think we didn't end up getting the pork ones in our order--maybe just cheese or cheese with some herbs? But just because we didn't love them doesn't mean you won't. They're worth a try, at least one ala carte if you can. Next time we'll try other things. No sweat! The horchata was wonderful. Would be great with booze in it. :) Service: THEY WERE SO NICE!!! The gentleman handling our takeout order was very helpful and very friendly, and easily navigated 2 more sets of guests that came in right after us, while still handling our order seamlessly. The staff cooking the food were also friendly. Ambiance: the inside is very clean and well-appointed, the lighting is nice for daytime, not too bright but not dim. They've fixed up the back patio seating area from how it was as Butcher Crown Roadhouse. Now it has shade fabric and a pergola over most of it, as well as hanging plants. Seems cozier, and would be more comfortable on a hot day than before. I hope they have heaters for our cool evenings though. I do wish they had a little music playing. The planting areas in the parking lot had some trash. Hopefully they peruse the parking lot daily to tidy up. read more
