Was running around and decided to stop here for a late lunch. This place is full of soccer decor, specifically liga mx team club América and Mexico national team. Authentic Mexican music in the background and a decent menu selection. Had a chile relleno burrito , it was quite delicious. Staff was cool , bathroom was clean. Quite recommended unless you are a chivas fan who doesn't like to interact with bitter rival team lol . 5/5 cool place. read more

Didn't mean to come here but glad we did! Ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito with no pico de gallo! It was huge and delicious! A bit on the spicy side but so yummy! It cones with all the fixings, like avocado with no extra cost. The horchata was good and not overly sweetened. Glad we got to experience this place! This Taqueria is hidden in a tiny corner behind WheelWorks and a Hispanic grocery store. Service is efficient, prices are reasonable, and there's plenty of room to sit. This is the kind of place locals go to, and there were several families seated nearby. I ordered a à la carte ceviche, and it was incredibly delicious! Made fresh daily with fresh tilapia and just the right amount of seasonings for a spicy-adverse person like me. On the wall, are numerous framed photos of the owner with various sports team players-- something he's definitely very proud of this. Plenty of parking available . read more

My new go-to Mexican spot. I've tried so many places around Petaluma and this by far is the best bang for your buck. Everything comes in huge portions, including the drinks. I didn't get a picture of our burritos because we were so hungry, but they were amazing. We got 1 carne asada super burrito and 1 shrimp + carne asada burrito. SO GOOD! The service is great, everyone is nice and friendly. And the food is out in less than 15 mins. I took it to-go but next time we're dining in! It was very clean and tidy inside. Regular burrito is $10 but very small in comparison to other places in town--about 2.5" in diameter and maybe 9-10" long. At El Pacifico, for example, for only slightly more money, you get a burrito at least 50% larger. That being said, it was a super solid burrito. The pastor was flavorful and juicy, and the rice and beans were tasty too. I really like their salsas more than El Pacifico--red sauce is oregano heavy but really good and the green is nice and spicy. Just wish you got a little more for the money. read more

I went here a few weeks ago, with some buddies that were visiting from the LA area. They had found this place on their own and it was really good. I would say their burritos are on par with El Roy's. Most of the folks eating there were Hispanic and that says a lot for the quality (we were the only white guys there). I would go back to this place. read more

Sorry, disappointed. A five at Best, I'm not saying it was terrible, but this was a disappointing experience. I ordered the taco combo plate, taco were a small, like little carne asada tacos. Taco shredded beef meat was low quality, so was the meat in the enchilada. Rice did not taste fresh. Not Mexican food I know. Refried beans were the only item that I won't complain about. Reviews are overrated. But at least the Mexican lady at the counter was really nice, and was pretty. :) read more

Not good. I'm sorry but there was nothing redeeming about this meal. Got an order of guac and chips. Which was the saddest looking guac I've seen ever. Primarily tomato and onion. Got two taco plates and both taco meats were minced so tiny to mask the inferior quality. Keep driving by. This is not worth the stop. read more

Don't go here!!! We went in at 925pm and looked at the menu. We go to order and the girl tells me that it's closed. On the door it's says that open till 10 M thru Sun. Go to El Roy's across the street. They are always polite and the food is delicious. read more

I have been coming here for over 20 years-it is still our go to for burritos in Petaluma. The food quality has been consistent for decades, all of the meats are delicious, the burritos are well-layered and made with real sliced avocado (I am not a fan of premade guacamole that some taquerias use). I decided to try coming in person one day and have only ordered in person since, been here four or five times since my last review update. In person the food is consistently good and the owner is super friendly. Haven't ordered online again since my experience was so bad the last few times I did. Green sauce is still really good. Would definitely suggest ordering in person but strongly suggest avoiding if you're ordering online. read more

Ordered to-go. $9 for Chicken Quesadilla, $7 for Chile Relleno. The order was packaged so poorly. Relleno was swimming in liquid, box crushed, spilled everywhere when we opened it. $9 Quesadilla is so small - it doesn't come with guacamole or any condiments. It's just wrapped in a tin foil to steam and get soggy. Two stars because the salsas are good. I know and appreciate great Mexican food. This has been my to go to sit down Mexican restaurant in Petaluma for years. The atmosphere is a typical simple taqueria. I think they have a good value for the quality and quantity of food you get. My favorite is the taco plate. All of their meats are delicious. The Carnitas, al pastor, and carne asada are my favorites. They've got them thin, crispy tortilla chips (like the ones at Chevy's) that are hard to find! Hooray! I had the 2 taco (pork) combo with rice and beans, and others had a carne asada burrito and a pork torta. The tacos were great in flavor, meat perfectly charred, a little gristley. The beans were made the classic way with lard (SABROSO) and the rice was just the way I love Mexican rice. Per report, the carne asada had nice flavor (gristley), but was missing cheese (bummer). We are a family-owned taqueria serving authentic Mexican food in Petaluma since 1993. Our al pastor is what people come back for, slow-cooked and packed into tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, and our salsas are made fresh every day to go with it. The carne gets the same care, and the kitchen also turns out seafood plates like camarones and a full breakfast in the morning. We do dine-in, take-out, and delivery, we take reservations, and our staff speaks Spanish and English so everyone feels at home. Come hungry and let us take care of you.

Established in 1993.

Since 1993, the Murillo family has run this taqueria here in Petaluma. What started as a way to share the Mexican cooking we grew up with has kept the same recipes and the same hands-on care for over thirty years. That is what brings our regulars back, our fresh salsas and our slow-cooked meats. We are proud to keep cooking for this community, one plate at a time.

Meet the Business Owner: Hector M.

I'm Hector, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco. I came to the Bay Area in '91 and opened this taqueria in Petaluma the next year. Over 30 years later, we're still here cooking the same recipes my family taught me back home. Everything is made fresh daily - our salsas, our meats, all of it. This place is my life's work, and I'm proud to feed this community. Come by and eat with us!

Lots of meat and he pretty much ate all of it lol the burrito was big so I could only finish half. Burrito wasn't bad but I wish I would've gotten the sandwich instead. It looked really good! Restaurant was a good size, clean, spacious and servers were nice and attentive. I would definitely come back to try other food on the menu.

I'm giving this place 5 STARS. I started going last month for their ranchero burritos and their wonderful green avocado salsa. This past sunday I gave it a try to their Shrimp soup and OMG! loved it. The soup was the bomb! all those jumbo shrimp with veggies were on point! Who ever owns the recipe is going to be rich! I also ordered a green chicken enchilada and same thing, so creamy, flavorful and full of chicken. The guy who takes my order every Sunday Morning has great customer service skils. If you don't see it on the menu, they'll make it for you without a doubt. Oh and yes, I had a Super MOdelo MIchelada. Don't know all the ingredients but ts soooooooo good. Tacos are my go to here and they always taste great. Today I had one with grilled chicken, the other, carne asada. They make their own chips onsite, the pico de gallo is always fresh; their salsa is way too piquant for me, so you'll be happy if that's what you like! I work next door, and the convenience can't be beat. The owners are very nice, let me practice my ever so limited Spanish and I can say that they work hard to be good at what they do. I'm not a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine, all I can say is that I'll be happy to continue to eat here indefinitely.
