Time to cut!
Hansel B.

It's that time of the year to get a fresh christmas tree. We went the weekend of thanksgiving and this place was packed. Lots of cars ended up parking by the side of the highway. I recommend you get here right when it opens in the morning to avoid the large crowds. First, the staff was super helpful and friendly, all of them! If this is your first time doing this, you will benefit from having someone help you talk through options and understand what to do. Knocking a couple of stars for two things: 1. It was very hard to find a tree under $100, there were a lot of beautiful trees, but the prices seemed high. Finding a nice one under 100 was a pain. 2. They have trees that are already cut, hard to tell at first glance, but you can see they are zip tied to a stick or post. I guess this is fine for people that want to go to a Christmas tree farm and not? cut down their own tree, but if you're going to do this, put them all in one section so it's easy to tell where they are.

These are the price tags from two trees on your farm. As you can see, they are 7-8 foot Douglas Fir, which is the cheapest tree type.

Attention Christmas tree-seeking Yelpers: Abel's Trees is NOT closed during the week-- if you call…read moreand make an appointment. Otherwise, they have weekend hours. They are open through 12/20. Who doesn't have trees on the brain right around Thanksgiving? We went the Saturday after and it was a perfect experience, from the selection of trees to the helpful staff to the incredibly low price of $65 per tree. We have a great room with vaulted ceilings in a chalet-style home and have wanted a huge tree since we bought the house 2 years ago. Our first Christmas in this house was last year and we bought what we had thought was a big tree, at 8 feet, but it looked tiny! We had bought it at a lot and the biggest trees were so expensive. I couldn't believe that ALL trees are the same price at Abel's! It's my first time going to an actual farm, so I'm not sure if this is standard. One of the workers asked us what we were looking for and directed us towards the blue spruce area because it had the tallest trees. There is a LOT to choose from here. We found our perfect enormous tree in minutes. What you need to know: -cash or check only -pay first and get a ticket -they provide hand saws but will allow you to bring your own. We brought a chainsaw (not encouraged, but allowed, heheheh) -there are handcarts but you may luck out like we did and someone may drive up to bring your tree down for you -they will wrap up your tree and strap it to your car Finally, tip those dudes! They deserve it. This is a novel concept to me, but apparently some folks actually tailgate here. There's a special lot for that. Now go and get your tree! It's not even 12/1 and with the way everything is going this year, you deserve that perfect tree to make the holidays at home the best that they can be.

Great family operated business! Fun to cut ur tree there every year. Goodies are great too!read more
